Agreed, Piano Marvel is grand. I have tried others but rejected them. Disclaimer: I am a retired doctor and don't have any connection whatsoever to Piano Marvel. But before you jump in, carefully consider your equipment. You'll need: 1. A good digital piano 2. Laptop or iPad. 3. From the audio headset output of your laptop, you could use a wired headset or a fairly powerful speaker or if your digital piano has an audio input, you can use that. However, I get a static buzz when I connected my laptop to my digital piano's audio in. I will be ordering what is called a "ground loop isolator" for around $10. If that does not solve it, I will just use a speaker. Luckily I have a PA speaker. I tried a Bluetooth headset but the latency/lag was so annoying I could not do that. I doubt that a Bluetooth speaker (they all have an AUX in)) in the $100 or so range will do the job. And oh, with a home speaker, don't push the volume too high as you just might damage it.

I've experimented with a lot of software, but as a long time jazzer I want to play my music. I'd heard of Marvel, but didn't realize till the other day that they have incorporated this feature fully in conjunction with Musescore. Looking forward to experimenting shortly. And for those theory / technique gaps we all have, this will help me focus on filling them in instead of bouncing around... Price is very reasonable as well.

I get the impression that some of the youtube piano software reviewers don't even play piano.

Thank you. I’d love to get this but only have an acoustic piano.

Useful video. In comparison to the Playground Session, which of the two (Piano Marvel and Playground Session) is closer to the traditional method or 1-1 piano teacher? Thank you!

This app says if doesn’t collect all your personal data and track you across apps like the other ones do. I hope that’s true. That is the main selling point for me. I hope is works for piano lessons.

Depends on your level & budget. I started with a Casio I found on sale @ Costco. After a few years I upgraded to a Yamaha P515. This I won't outgrow. Better touch and sound. Other brands like Akai are good as well. Most are competitive in each price range. With inflation, you do need to spend around 1K US for a decent durable keyboard.
