    It doesn't track note duration. Only note starting points. That's something critical for it to improve and that reviews never tell us about.

    Greetings from Brazil! Congratulations for the well made content of your channel. I am a beginner and you helped in my decision to move from Simply Piano to Piano Marvel, as I am also studying with a teacher and I prefer the traditional way of learning. Keep the good job, thanks.

      Thank you Ernani, I'm glad it helps:) The combination of private lessons with Piano Marvel sounds good and I can imagine it can be effective and funny, too.

    100% agree! Excellent review. I did my research on the piano apps and this one is right for me. I'm smashing it and learning a lot at warp speed. The one month free trial is fantastic and I'll certainly carry on with premium. Piano Marvel is great if you can already play a bit and want to learn to read the dots. It's way faster than going in a the deep end with, for example any grade book. For a total beginner it's going to be frustrating to start with. If like me you can already read rhythm to a high degree you'll sail through it.

    I am using this app with my acoustic piano and am loving it. They are working on using the mic, but it is not a deal breaker for me.

    I have decided to give it ago with my acoustic piano. Even though at this stage it is not interactive, it is still a fantastic way to learn. I prefer it to the game like learning apps. They have let me know that they are working on making it fully interactive with the acoustic piano in future updates. I like it because it includes lots of music and beginner books, Hanon and Czerny exercises.

      I am glad you found your favorite piano app. I think Piano Marvel is also cool for quite wide library of classical piano pieces and great sight-reading tool (SASR).

    Thx for this review. I started with Piano Marvel a couple of months ago but have not been consistent unfortunately! :) One thing I quickly found out: the speakers on iPads, laptops, are pretty poor. So I use an audio out cable, 3.5mm. I connect this to a Bose speaker to get a richer sound from my laptop. Besides, my keyboard controller puts out no sound; it is an M-Audio Keystation 61 Mk3. The key action is semi-weighted, and not bad, really. At times I like to fool with a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and Cakewalk is what I like best, to create various sounds and even record. However, Piano Marvel is a memory hog. Once it starts, I am not able to run a DAW, whether Cakewalk or Ableton Live. I have to restart the laptop and say no when the app asks permission to run.
    Oh, one last thing: as compared to Flowkey, Skoove and Playground Sessions: Piano Marvel is the best, and Playground Sessions, the worst. (that's my opinion; others may have their own preferences!)

      @@MarkHopewell I hated PGS and asked for a refund the next day! I love Piano Marvel. In the Library section they have Alfred Adult All In One course which is what I'm learning. Plus various beginners songs. I use a Windows 10 laptop.

    @SantaRosaGal Před 2 lety +2

    I've been using Piano Marvel for a few weeks and I like a lot of things about it, including being able to use the Alfred All in One Course, which I was learning on my own. The one thing that I find really frustrating is in the Assess mode the rhythm seems to waver, so that it slows down and speeds up and I end up with a low score, when I know I got the rhythm right. Maybe it is my internet connection, I don't know. But I think I will use the Practice and Prepare modes more than the Assess for this reason. I find myself feeling discouraged rather than motivated to practice.

      I understand your frustration, Lanette. Well, I think the problem can be the internet connection. Do you have a chance to try Piano Marvel somewhere else on different internet?

    If you have an acoustic piano are these apps worth it?

    • @bestmusiccourses4815
      @bestmusiccourses4815  Před 3 lety

      Hi there! Yes, Piano Marvel has so called book mode, where you have PDFs, videos and audio files, but it is not interactive. Other apps like Skoove (review here: bit.ly/3oEi7uO) or Flowkey (review here: bit.ly/3pDjOK5) use a built-in microphone from your laptop so all interactive features are working also with an acoustic piano.
