karā keikō st ives scrub has crushed walnut shells in it which have jagged edges that can cause little micro tears in the skin. a lot of physical exfoliants (products like face scrubs that you physically work into the skin) can be too harsh and irritating without you realising as the damage will progress over time. the best type of exfoliants are chemical as they don’t just work on the top layer of the skin and can actually penetrate the deeper layers without being too abrasive. a popular chemical exfoliant is the ordinary aha 30% + bha 2% peeling solution! it’s super cheap and has tons of great reviews. the salicylic acid ingredient in it works to exfoliate & break down congestion in the skin & brighten the complexion deep into the skin’s layers as opposed to an abrasive physical scrub that will only scrub the very top layer of the skin. sorry for rambling - i love skincare and researching stuff about it. hope this might’ve helped 🖤
*this is not coming from a place of hate, I'm truly concerned about your skin* (and kinda impressed that you not dealing with more irritation): Let's be real … it's a mess ... it gave me anxiety ... First of all throw away those cleansing wipes *THOSE ARE THE DEVIL !* There are many reason why, but the main problems are the harsh chemical they contain, the enviromental damage they do, that they basically smear just the make up around instead of taking it off and that people tend to be rough to their skin with these. You should *double cleanse* and use the oil cleanser right. Don't put you hands with all the dirt and make up back to the container. You are contaminating the product, get a spatula! After massaging it on to your skin, you need to emulsify the cleanser put a little bit water on your face and keep massaging, until it turns milky than rinse it off. Follow with a water-based cleanser, in the colder month use something more hydrating with glycerin in it. You don't need to double cleanse in the morning , just rinse your skin with water or use the water based one (i personally cleanse in the morning as well). *Please don't exfoliate every day!* Your skin is getting thinner, your risking to make the hyperpigmantation worst and micro tearing is a thing not a myth. This Ives scrub straight outta hell is the peek! It's commonly known that scrubs like this are basically cutting your skin open. It's normal that your skin is burning, after this "exfoliation", if you put a toner on. Wounds burn if you're putting something on. Throw it to the trash and never look back on it. Obviously your skin can handle a lot, so you should be fine with using the cleansing brush once or twice a week. I would recommand to use chemical exfoliation. It's easier, safer and the results are better *and you aren't smearing wood all over your face!* An AHA can be really beneficial to you, you can use something like glycolic acid (the ordinary has a great toner) or lactic acid. If the percentage isn't too high you can build up your tolerance to a daily use. You shouldn't use toners like this twice a day, keep it to the PM routine and use for the AM something more moisturizing with glycerin and hyaluronic acid. Something that's kinda plain in ingredients. *Less is more!* Ditch the Body Shop toner all the ingredients they are Marketing are under the one percent mark and even fragrance is higher on the list. You should try to avoid fragrance and essential oils, as they can be irritating to the skin and trigger allergic reactions. Using a BHA like Salicylic Acid all over your face it's not ideal for you skin type, as you said that your not dealing with acne. Use it as a spot treatment if you're breaking out. You can benefit from a niacinamide, as your dealing with texture and hyperpigmentation. Actually I think you should try to intoduce an over the counter retinol (Vitamin A)in your routine. It works in the deeper skin layers and help with cell turnover, it's amazing if you dealing with hyperpigmentation. The ordinary has some, find one that's best for the climate and your skin type. You wanna build up your tolerance, don't use a crazy high percentage start with 0.2 or 0.5 once a week and build up your tolerance. You should invest in a better more active Vitamin C Serum. Something that includes L-ascorbic Acid or Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate in the ingredients list. Tbh Vitamin C and Retinols are something you should splurge on, as they are fomulated better and more effective. Find a serum that contains humectants to keep moisture in your skin, that's important especially in the winter months (but also all year around). Ma'am please layer your products right: *You go from lightest to thickest, from water-based to oil based, humectant- and peptide based serums go on first (as they tend to be more watery). Serum after the Toner and Essence stage.* *THE MOISTURIZER NEED TO GO!* (actually all of your Body Shop products, they aren't that effective and full of irritating ingredients.) I don't even understand how a product like this is on the market. A cream with buildin vitamin C, lemonene and Spf, sounds crazy wrong to me. So I checked the ingredients list: Alcohol Denat is the second ingredient this stuff is probably crazy drying, this Vitamin C derivative is way lower than fragrance on the list and under the one percent mark and still they're put it on the bottles. The amount of fragrance in it is insane. Just throw it out and go with a simple plain moisturizer like cerave, without actives. At this point you pilled up enough in that department. Just go simple and use a bit more product please. You should look at your skin and find out if you need something light like a gel or heavy more moisturizing like a ceremide cream. I believe you'll be fine if you use something in the middle like a normal cream. *Don't forget the spf, because sun can make hyperpigmentation worse*. It's a personal pet peeve but I like to split up my Spf and moisturizer, because I can make sure that I use enough sun screen and use the moisturizer in my PM routine. *Don't dermaroll at home, don't use lemon extract on your skin, don't recommand this to other people!* It's not just skin damaging and hyperpigmentation triggering, doing this at home is even dangerous, as it can lead to bleeding and infection or even worst health problems. Youmget literally red irritation, this should be an indicator for you to not do this! You're not trained to use a dermaroller, just see an esthetician for that! *Your pores won't open up, it's not helping with absorbation, you're just poking holes into your skin and getting dark spots.* You should check the ingredients in your products use sites like incidecoder.com. If your buying a product from a retailer like sephora, go to the company website, as they often have more information on their products and tell you exactly how to use it (like the ordinary does). Skip essential oils and fragrance, I know it's nice if a product smells great, but it's just damaging to your skin. If you don't know an ingredient google it, Paulas Choice has a great dictionary on their us site. Leave the crazy treatments to the experts and don't over exfoliate. I actually believe you're causing the dark spots your dealing with, be gentle and nice to your skin. Oh god. Thank you because I have dark skin and on top of that am prone to getting keloids over ridiculously small wounds. Thought of giving this a try but will steer clear of it.
Estha Lensherr this is why I commented 😩😩 so deffo stay clear from the roller!! try different acids to exfoliate with but always test patch on small area and wait as we don’t always see the results straight away it can appear 3/4 days later!

Urgirlfaye that’s a good idea but I would definitely not advise anyone to use the st Ives scrub.....it will damage your skin barrier in the long run. When she gets older she will notice her skin is gonna be thin and start to wrinkle prematurely
I really hope that anyone that’s planning on using this routine would start researching skincare before doing any of this. Her skin will hate her in the long run if she keeps using this routine. Her using two vit c products at one time tells me that she’s not familiar with what vit c really is. She is definitely beautiful though
Scrub every day and a liquid exfoliant and vitamin c in same routine is bad news for tour skin long term . Derma roller on clean skin. Too many actives in one routine 😔
You have such amazing skin, Sis. But please look into face wipes and the St Ive’s Scrub! I no longer use both because the wipes are not only bad for the environment but also bad for your skin as you are pulling and tugging on it as you wipe away your make up. Wash the camomile oil then use another water based cleanser. The scrub it just too harsh and causes micro tears in your skin. Also, in the long run you might be damaging your skin by double exfoliating; the face brush and the St Ives together might be too much for your skin! You have such beautiful skin, be gentle with it to keep it this way!
KristenKash Cleansing balms are the best to break down make up! :) For some drugstore options there is Physicians Formula “The Perfect Matcha” and The Ordinary has a cleanser that turns into a balm like consistency which I’m liking a lot right now, I still cleanse with a gel cleanser after. and for some other options there is Cliniques take the day off and the farmacys green clean, they’re all super bomb! Hope I helped give you some options.
KristenKash I use baby wipes (water wipes) I used it for my son as he had really sensitive skin and worked wonders on his skins so I started using it on my face it’s a bit on the price side but it’s the best
The fact that this video has 1000 likes and just 33 dislikes (because In every vidoe u watch = 1k likes means there’s 100 dislikes) it means this video is so worth it and beautiful and so is ur skin care boo😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely Amazing, I’m Half Asleep But You’re Making Wanna Leave My House To Go Shopping For All These Products, I’ve Understood All The Bodyshop Products But Where Could I Get The Lil Bottles From? The Acne and Mark Ones (the Ordinary)
It worries me that sunscreen was not mentioned here. Daily physical exfoliation, acids, lemon oil and derma rolling will all make your skin sensitive, so a high SPF is a must. I like Asian sunscreens as the formulations are more elegant and they don't leave a white cast. Biore Watery Essence, Missha Sun Milk and Etude House Sunprise Airy Finish are my favourites. They're really cheap too!
@@milah6088 - I didn't say she should use a sunscreen, I said she didn't mention it, ie she only mentioned taking off foundation and makeup. I hope to god her foundation at least had some SPF.
Beautiful skin and a true testament to how personal skin care is. When she used a manual scrub and a skin exfoliating device, I wanted to run and hide. My skin would break out in an irritated rash with all of that manual exfoliation. Clearly working for her though.
babyyy you look so good but the st. Ives scrub is very very bad for your skin!! It may work now but in the long run it will ruin your skin girl! Please google it and buy another product to keep ur beautiful skin like this! ♥️
omg and then she used a exfoliating brush on top of it as if the scrub isn’t already abrasive but i’ve noticed a lot of people with super nice skin use that scrub i use to use it until i read the negatives about it i loved it i just wish it wasn’t so bad for your face in the long run
It’s because the balls in that scrub aren’t spherical they’re halved which leads to what that other lady said causing micro tears which which can also give you more dark marks! Use a wash with glycolic acid or any acid that helps with lightening marks!

For some drugstore options there is Physicians Formula “The Perfect Matcha” and The Ordinary has a cleanser that turns into a balm like consistency which I’m liking a lot right now, I still cleanse with a gel cleanser after. and for some other options there is Cliniques take the day off and the farmacys green clean, they’re all super bomb! Hope I helped give you some options.
KristenKash I use baby wipes (water wipes) I used it for my son as he had really sensitive skin and worked wonders on his skins so I started using it on my face it’s a bit on the price side but it’s the best
Pleaseee do a drive/get lit with me playlist you’d be so good at this🦋❤️

u should use a chemical exfoliant, i find they work better for dark spots and wont cause any micro-tears in ur skin
What chemical exfoliant are you talking about
kharis cadogan literally any acids from the ordinary, lactic, glycolic or AHA/BHA
@@khariscadogan7619 my fav is lactic acid

😂😂 your so funny I love your videos even though I just subbed today 💕
Your skin is so amazing😍😍
Girl your skin is gorgeous ❤
It worries me that sunscreen was not mentioned here.
Daily physical exfoliation, acids, lemon oil and derma rolling will all make your skin sensitive, so a high SPF is a must.
I like Asian sunscreens as the formulations are more elegant and they don't leave a white cast. Biore Watery Essence, Missha Sun Milk and Etude House Sunprise Airy Finish are my favourites. They're really cheap too!
She’s going to bed. Why would she use an SPF for a nighttime routine? 🙄
@@milah6088 - I didn't say she should use a sunscreen, I said she didn't mention it, ie she only mentioned taking off foundation and makeup.
I hope to god her foundation at least had some SPF.
You look better without makeup sis💜
Y you say that
samantha Knightgale y not
@@ainhis.m.k.6979 she looks pretty with make up too.
samantha Knightgale ok, I never said she didn’t
@@ainhis.m.k.6979 OK
Beautiful skin and a true testament to how personal skin care is. When she used a manual scrub and a skin exfoliating device, I wanted to run and hide. My skin would break out in an irritated rash with all of that manual exfoliation. Clearly working for her though.
babyyy you look so good but the st. Ives scrub is very very bad for your skin!! It may work now but in the long run it will ruin your skin girl! Please google it and buy another product to keep ur beautiful skin like this! ♥️
E M what’s wrong with it ?
omg and then she used a exfoliating brush on top of it as if the scrub isn’t already abrasive but i’ve noticed a lot of people with super nice skin use that scrub i use to use it until i read the negatives about it i loved it i just wish it wasn’t so bad for your face in the long run
It’s because the balls in that scrub aren’t spherical they’re halved which leads to what that other lady said causing micro tears which which can also give you more dark marks! Use a wash with glycolic acid or any acid that helps with lightening marks!
Yes omg. She has beautiful skin and I don’t want her to ruin it
Your skin is perfection woooowwww and your lips look so smooth
Always love you ❤️❤️
YAAYYY you’re back
Awesome job 🍁🍂🤎
Sending blessings from Texas
this is exactly the video I needed thankyou!!!
Your skin ugh!!?!💗
