I’m a 75 year old woman and have no idea how I got to this site but I watched the whole thing and found it amazing!!!
You are very sweet. Thanks for watching!
My great grandfather was a farrier. I watched to see what he did. I'm 76. He built a house for his daughter as a wedding gift and a house to rent on a near by lot so she would have an income if needed.
I love the farriers!
I know what you mean I just stumbled upon this channel and now I can’t quit watching these videos!!❤🙏
I am a 77 year old woman and I think this is so interesting. Being a woman I don’t want them to go back out and get their feet dirty 😊lol
God bless this man for repairing the horse foot with new horseshoe. His talent is well appreciated.
WOW! This guy is like a skilled surgeon. That is some hard work. He earns every cent.
The old horse knows the score. Never flinched once. The young horses twist and turn until they've been shod a few times.
Farriers have the strength and talent most of us wish we had. Just beautiful
My Grandfather was a Farrier/blacksmith. Everytime I watch a horse being shoed, I can smell Pop's smithy in my mind. Brings back some really great memories.. I am now 73, but it makes me feel young again.
I’m 14 and I can’t believe how far along I’ve gotten in the farrier industry. I already have 4 clients. 3 in my town and 1 in another city.
I when I was 12 I took great interest into farrier work. I bought numerous books on hoof health and how to keep them healthy. Also how to diagnose hoof diseases.
In total I’ve spent about two years shadowing my farrier, and going to other barns so she could teach me the basics.
I saved every penny I owed and worked for to buy my own horse. And I’ve been kindly gifted a top quality rasp, a pair of GE nippers, and a green Hoofjack hoof stand.
The other tools I’ve already bought.
I’m so grateful to have this opportunity and experience the sense of accomplishment every time I finish a horse’s hooves. In 4 years I’ll be certified through PHCP. And the last two years in my high school I’m allowed to apprentice my farrier. So it’s going to go towards my credits.
Nice job my friend 👍
@@comentariorandom1264 thx I’m excited
Let`s go! we need young blood for our horses. Stay humble and you`ll learn every day!
@@Veikra thank you😆love what I do
Good job! At the very least you should never lack for work nor stuck behind a desk.
My step-dad owned horses and did not take as good care of them as he should have. I finally talked him into selling the last 2 to one of his nurses (he was 85 yo). The horses went fromvliving ghetto to a Beverley Hills stable. The horses repaired the nurse's marriage. She and her husband sold both their houses to buy property with a pasture and stall. Animals are amazing. ❤
Most people don't realize the amount of time and training it takes to learn this trade. A good Fourier can work miracles !
Whats a Fourier?
@@violagentschA farrier. Some like this man could be called a blacksmith because he uses the hot oven.
@@violagentsch I've been in the german army. The 'Fourier' was our guy taking care, that all stuff needed by a soldier is available from nourishment, ,cloths, shoes, cutlery, pottery tents and so on. Not responsible for weapons and ammo.
Jean Baptiste Joseph Fourier (1768; † 1830) scientist, mathematician, aministrative. His name is one of the 72 names inscribed on the Eiffel Tower in Paris
@@MrCatiafan thank you

Thank you for giving this horse such comfort . ❤
Aussie past horse owner. -what an amazing skill this fàrrier has. Quick, efficient and quiet in his work. Dedication to the finished job is tops. It would have been great to have someone of your calibre here in Western Australia 20 yrs ago. Keep up the good work.
You can tell the horse really appreciated his kindness he was very obedient. God Bless you Sir your patience and kindness to this horse was very generous and caring God Bless you both.🙏❤️🐎
Nothing better than to watch a highly skilled craftsman plying their trade. This man is a thru & thru professional and a absolute pleasure to watch! Ty sir. ✌
This is literally a horse getting his “nails” done. And he loves it
Always nice to watch a skilled craftsman doing his magic.
Your care & attention to detail is quite outstanding. Watching you work takes me back to watching my grandfather working as a farrier, (although he's long gone) and evoked many wonderful memories. I still have all of his tools (even his anvil) & it seems that some of them haven't been replaced by a more 'modern' take. I'm no farrier (I'm a computer, telecommunications engineer & master cable maker) but it is obvious that you are exceptionally talented & really care about your trade. Keep it up. Best wishes from New Zealand (a land down under).
😊😊😊😊😊😊
There are "farrier schools" that would love to pass your heirloom tools down to a young trainee!
One of the best Farrier/Blacksmiths I have ever seen.
I'm a 70 year old woman and spent many fine and good days amongst horses. I found this vid to be ever so pleasing! You allowed us the pleasure of seeing you transform this poor old horse's mangled hoof into a restored, sound work of Art. Kudos, sir!
👍 Greetings from Denmark.

I love the work you and farriers do. What irritates more than anything is when owners do not take responsibility for the ongoing care of their animals. And yes, I've owned horses, daily care, grooming, scheduled vet clinics for vaccinations and every 6 weeks, had a farrier come and shoe my horses. I cannot imagine having an animal without proper care.
You have a conscience and a soul……that horses pervious owner didn’t,
@@ILHillbilly67I think people underestimate how much work is involved in looking after horses. Especially in US, it seems normal to turn horses out without keeping up with regular worming and trimming. It's as though they expect horses to look after themselves at pasture.
Yes, having owned a show ring hunter and having a family member with horses on the track, we all knew the phrase "horse poor." They got new shoes more than we did. 😊
Dang!!! All that time on just one hoof. That looks like backbreaking work.
@@gmatwotimes I'm on my 3rd farrier in 25 years, they all retire with back and hip problems.
Beautiful work. Don't have my HORSES any longer and I truly miss them, but I am in a wheelchair and just turned 70. 😢 he really did a good job
Hope this was enjoyable now that you don't have horses. You can still enjoy them and them being helped !
seriously, how much does a farrier visit cost for a regular clean up and trim? Why are so many horse/donkey/sheep, etc owners not taking care of their animals' feet?
Beautiful...a real “art,” of workmanship🙌😊
Watching a master craftsman at work is amazing! A fantastic video, thank you for posting this. This farrier is truly amazing at his job. 😊
Man! That was the coolest thing I've seen in awhile. Art takes many forms. Thanks for the video.
Watching a skilled man at work is so memorizing
Attention to detail gave this horse the relief it needed - before it was too late to fix. Excellent work by this farrier.
You do AMAZING farrier work on horses. Thank you for your kindness and support for these animals. 🥰🥰 This horse should feel so much better walking because of your knowledge.
I honestly can not fathom the physical toll this job must take upon the farrier over time. ❤
First thing they do is line up a good chiropractor. It is a hazardous job, but rewarding & invaluable - the good ones, that us. Lot of yahoos out there.
There are no old farriers. Their backs go out.
Ни мастер, а ЧУДО!
Какие движения, какая превосходная работа!
БРАВО!!!!!!!
I used to help the local Farrier when I was a kid here in England, or at least thats what I thought I was doing, so I do know a little of what a Farriers job is. Watching this,I see that you care as much about the Horses well being as the care you take in doing a good job, great video, excellent work, thank you.
It is just amazing to watch you work. Thank you for sharing.
He was a PROFESSIONAL!! What a talent and a great job!
It’s like watching an artist paint a picture!..beautiful work
What a master's touch you have. Total transformation in so short a time. Your skill really shows. Thank you for the work you do and the relief you bring to these animals and the health you maintain in your regulars. Must be so satisfying!
Not a horse person but I find this work amazing.
Bet this horse has much more relief
Great job
I am not much of a animal lover !!!! but I don't like the way this animal are looked after!!!!😢😢😢😢
So happy he has finally found some relief
You are an amazing person! I know it took a lot of hard work to get this far. Thank you for giving that sweet baby new shoes! God bless ♥️🙏🏼♥️
Perfect video!!! No talking, get right to work, and allowed me to enjoy it. Thanks!!!
What an amazing animal. Calm and patient gentle giant.
You have magical hands, completely fascinated by your dexterity and skill
It amazes me the sacrifice your back and bending over. I have pain just watching! Bless you for taking care of these majestic beautiful animals! I love watching how gentle you are, horses can feel that gentle handling and know you are there to help!
Special. Thank you👍👍
Impressive work! Fast, efficient, detailed, customized and takes great care of his tools. If I had horses, he would be my go to farrier!
I’m 82, lived on a farm, no horses, we had cows and of course calves, one I entered in the fair, won first prize 😊❤ I love to watch these guys fix the animals hooves ❤it’s awesomeness/amazing what they do🎉😊thanks for sharing ❤
You are amazing. Thank you for what you do!!❤❤❤
Mr. Farrier, you are a miracle worker! Amazing!
Love your work 😍 old horses are great baby sitters for children
Some of the most beautiful knives I’ve ever seen produced have been made by farriers. Their smithing skills are top notch and a joy to watch.
Amazing, the horse thanks you too!
My husband was a blacksmith for over 60 years. This hentleman did everything just like my husband did. Except the heated shoe part. My husband had a shop and he had horses he did special shoeing on. But hed set the particular horses shoes up at the blacksmith shop with welded aids . Then would drive out to where horse was kept and nail special shoe on horse's clean trimmed hoof. He never had to do any correction on the welded shoe but an occasional narrowing or widening the heel or toe. He had an eye for remembering that horse's hooves.
During rodeo time every year, hed often be so busy shoeing mostly the special performance horses. To save time, hed set those shoes up in the wintertime and we kept them in alphabetical order accordering to owner's last name. If owner had more than 1 horse, wed write a horse's name on each shoe to designate which horse for a multiple horse owner. He worked with local vetinarians in shoeing crippled or injured horses. Also did a lot of corrective shoeing on horses. Like for a horse who would overreach with back hoof and clip front leg or even snag front shoe off. I had a American Saddlebred mare that traveled witj her back feet too close together she kept her back ankles raw by corking herself at her faster gaits. Hed weld pieces of horse shoe to outside of her back horseshoes to cause her to travel with her feet farther apart. It worked.
Sounds like you two had a lot of good times!
Before the car existed this guy would’ve been a horse mechanic. This takes real skill and dedication.
This guy is a real Master beautiful to watch
This ferries is amazing, he professional, caring, fast fast with perfection and mastery,, Incredible 😊
U R a Master at what you do.😊 thank you for helping this horse feet fit and feel better..Christy

You are an absolute master at your craft! Incredible to watch!
Absolutely amazing. Such skill. It was wonderful to watch.
A work of art ❤️👍
I would have really liked this video even more if you showed the horse walking before and after the shoeing. Beautiful job!
I have been watching hoofs. I just found you. Now I have two shows to watch all day. Thank you for helping these horses. I love to learn what you do.
Why does it take so long to fix their hoove. They would be happier when it first happened.
This farrier does not waste time talking. Well done!
Very confident and really impressive workmanship.A Master Farrier at work.
A true artist, and craftsman . It's great to see.
You did a great job . Looks so much better afterwards.
Very particular completeness! Attention to every detail. The best I have seen!
Love how you have the grinder mounted on the back door!
Watching you work it is clear that you a a master of your work. Poetry in motion. Every move crisp and practiced.
I dont know if you want to bother, voice over narration to let us (know nothings) what you do and why, or how you became a farrier, where you go to become a farrier.
My grandfather was a farrier in the steel mills. He died before I was born. Great feeling to know he took care of these magnificent creatures in the manner we just watched. I have always believed that since we humans domesticated animals, we have complete responsibility for their health and happiness. Good work.
That is hard work!! Good job Son!!!
Thanks for an amazing video, throughly enjoyed .
Glad you enjoyed it
He is good at this.
He is a hoof artist worth every penny

Hey,...As usual, great work. Thank You for helping these neglected horses.
That's how most of us find these videos Grandma❤
Nicely done!
I just marvel at his skill. Wonderful to watch.
She is being a really good girl. She must know she will be feeling much better after her hoofs are cleaned and fixed proper.
According to your hands you're not very old. I have seen many men in Brazil and Scotland among other places. You are absolutely the best. Keep up the good work
Excellent work! Handled with such care.
Keep up the excellent work! Tutorial is amazing!
Hopefully folks will get to understanding the entire process and have a much greater appreciation for a Farrier. You guys are amazing. 💞👍
Thank you so much!
I am hysterical when I have to trim my cat's claws ! My Dad used to take me into town in England to watch the horses being shod, I thought it hurt them but had to watch as I loved the horses !
So talented, so professional, so skilled, amazing
A brilliant. Job.
Such a sweet, patient horse ! Great job.

This gentleman is an absolute wizard in his profession.
Its so relaxing watching this youngmen doing such a fantastic job
What a patient horse, he know he is in the hands of professional....
Always a pleasure to watch hardworking craftsmen - inspiration
Well-done. You can't fake that sort of expertise. 👏
Oh! I see other steps I haven’t seen in other videos, the water cooling ( I wondered how long it took) and grinder. Your job is truly a work of art, and you make it look effortless. I’d have my fingers burned off, lol. Great job!
A great farrier like this man, IS an artist. He also likely ends up with backaches a lot. Or injuries caused by a fractious horse. When he gets older, he'll know how he earned such a bad back. And crushed toenails. Of course, steel toed boots help prevent a lot of broken toes and ruined toenails. There's nothing so rough on a farrier than a horse jetting his foot out of his hands and stomping it down on his foot. 😮
My back was aching from watching you bent over. Great job. Very efficient. No horsing around. (ha,ha)
I enjoy watching the farrier at work. There's no way I could shape a horseshoe by eye!!
Thank you, Sir. ❤️🐎
Tålmodig och super duktig , hovslagare ❤
This farrier is amazing at his job
It has to be so satisfying to know that the work you do brings so much comfort to these beautiful creatures. I’m surprised that such neglect doesn’t bring anima control or so meter department in for what s so obviously cruelty to this horse. You are a blessing and you have my prayers for your continued health and strength so you can continue to help these creatures. 🙏❣️
