A couple months ago Matt did a collab w/ other youtubers for a show called "Copy That" and I remember it being absolutely embarrassing watching the competitors fail. Not only did they fail, they essentially made fun the sport itself by trying to cheat and just laughing at how 'ridiculous' they felt stuffing their faces. I really appreciate the Try Guys putting in 100% effort, respecting Matt for what he does, and genuinely being fun about it with their crew. Matt looked way more comfortable being here & it made it actually fun to watch :)

As a Matt stonie viewer, I have never seen him try so hard to beat a challenge, except for maybe against joey chestnut.
I've only been watching the Try Guys today but I've been subbed to Matt for over 2-3 years now, and this is exactly what I thought. Matt's usually a lot less strict about pushing for it when he's just doing videos (i.e. slowing down or even giving up), but he really treated this as a competition and went full pace!
as a try guys viewer, i really liked that matt respected them and treated this as a competition as well!! he wasn't cocky, he had a nice attitude, he tried his best, and he even prepped for this competition! i found him to be very pleasant tbh

The fact that Matt still took this challenge seriously against novices is a testament to his character, which is why I believe Matt is truly deserving of his success and will permanently change the perspective and popularity of professional eaters and our take on the individuals behind the food-eating.

I remember watching that horrible "Copy that" episode with Matt Stonie with these people completely disrespecting the art of competitive eating and not even trying.. Much props to the Try Guys for really respecting the sport and trying their best. This video deserves much love!
Honestly, that is the reason Try guys are as good and fun to watch as they are. They might not belive in what they're testing always, or understand, or even enjoy. But there are very very few occasions during their career that I felt they were not respectful towards whatever or whoever were involved in the video. Which is impressive considering how youtube can be.
Johnathan wasn't the hero we deserved, but the hero we needed.

this is one of my favorite try guys videos purely because off the mutual respect everyone has for each other. the guys took their lessons from matt to heart and gave it their all, and they clearly have unparalleled respect for what matt does. and on the flip side, matt didnât dismiss the guys and took the competition incredibly seriously just as he would any official competition. great sportsmanship all around.
