Yes, this is one of Ravana’s place. In Ramayan there is a description of Sigiriya. Before Ravana, Sigiriya was Kuwera’s palace. (Kuwera is Ravana’s elder brother)
Lanka was in control of kubera before ravana.. The one who made lanka of gold.. Lanka was snatched by ravana after a boon from brahma.. As per our dharmic literatures

If Lion Rock was Ravan's palace, then according to Ramayana, Ravan's palace would be surrounded by gold. But there is no trace of a drop of gold here. Why is that

Our history mentions(book called mahavansa) many mass migrations from nothern kingdoms like vanga(bengol), magadha(bihar) & kalinga(odisha). Our fore father is a vanga prince called vijaya singhe. We love north India!

Aryans migrated to sri lanka 2500 years ago from west bengol & odisha. They mixed with locals & made the sinhalese nation. About 200 years later buddhism was introduced to sri lanka by chakravarthi ashoka. Bihari people migrated to here & mixed with sinhalese on that time. Now we are sinhalese buddhists. Sinhalese is an indo aryan language. That is why this person identify it is similar to hindi. But linguists say maharashtri prakrit ( todays marathi)is more closer to sinhala language. Modern DNA studies say sinhalese have 70 to 82% west bengali, 12% gujarathi , 12% punjabi genetic affinity. Although we are much much closer to tamil nadu, genetically, language wise & culturally we are closer to north indians.( All sinhalese love north indians as they were taught this history which is acompulsary subject in government schools )

I have a suggestion for you. when you visit any historical place, it's better get information from good guide or self-studying because many locals tell what they believe and those may not accrue as history proved. Also, they cannot express what they want to say properly because of language problem and output is something very different from the truth. It has some effect when these things publish in globally.

Brother this is called Pali Prakrit. Which you will find in many places in India. This is the oldest language of Asia, from which the rest of the languages of India are made. Pali Prakrit was the language of Buddha time. The inscriptions of King Ashoka are written in Pali language. In the history of India, you will not find as much of Sanskrit as Pali language. Not only King Ashoka but also many kings of India have used Pali.
