- If the amazing sunrise while fishing at Lake Cargelligo isn't enough, lets add some bit fat yellowbelly (Golden Perch) into the mix to make an amazing morning a perfect morning. This was my idea of a perfect mornings fishing for so many reasons. The incredible sunrise, the lovely yellowbelly and the wonderful day that followed.

I love Lake Cargelligo it is a place of peace
It sure is. Absolutely beautiful there, I love it too.
Today I took my Aunty out fishing in a spot at khancoban poundage and she caught a 42.5cm brown trout and I caught a 39 brown trout. And a few days me and my older brother went fishing in the khancoban poundage and he caught a 36cm brown trout and I caught a 44cm brown trout.😊
Awesome, lovely fish. Well done.
It's a wonder you could catch anything with Mr. Percival swimming around!
Haha I think he was waiting for me to catch a carp but it didn't happen. LOL
@@robbiefishing GOOD to see actually! I BET there's some nice FAT bellied cod in there too!
You need to come here more often🔥
Awesome release footage of that stonker, well done.
That short rod of yours is what we would call a 'stroker' rod! LOL!
Ripper yellows Robbie! Bloody GOOD fish!
Those reddies from the other day were absolute killers!
Haha thanks UF. It was starting to feel like I was fishing in the land of the giants. Haha
@@robbiefishing I bet!
Lovely conditioned yella!
awesome video Robbie what an awesome yellowbelly
Beautiful sunrise and great fish too. Took me 3 years to finally catch a 50cm yellowbelly lol got plenty at 49 pr 49.5 😂 then the day i got a 51cm i also caught a 51cm bass too both pbs
Good one mate nice fish nice place nice pictures 👍👍👍👍👍
Whenever I break a rod off like that I get a bamboo skewer, a tube of super glue and some sewing cotton. Glue the skewer half its length inside the lower section of rod, then see if you need to shave the top end of the skewer to get it to fit snugly inside the top section of rod. Once your happy, glue it in as well. Then bind the whole thing with cotton thread and a layer or two of glue.
YOU WILL GET GLUE ON YOUR FINGERS! lol.
Once it's all dry it'll still work well, but you'll probably find it a little stiffer in the patched section than original.
That's a TOP spot, which EVER way you slice it!
Sure is mate, we absolutely loved it up there
@@robbiefishing I can SEE! Be even BETTER over the summer/autumn period!
Yeah Robbie!
Just letting you know your a great CZcamsr and deserve more than 100k

Haha thanks mate. Yellowbelly always get that pale look in dirty water.
What a tank yellowbelly Robbie that gets yah going
Thanks mate. It was crazy fat!!
Stunning sunrise. Half a rod wt haaa . Your a ledg… Nice yells/white .. See you this week. Back at it .. Ps take a spare old chap 😊
Haha thanks Camels. I was surprised that I could still cast it so far. LOL
Nice fish! Yellas have been quite active recently, me and my mates have caught heaps lately at our local pond.
It's a great little place to fish always been good for reddies
Amazing friend 😚😚😘
I just missed you on Sunday when I went to the boat club😅🔥
Ha good video, Fishing is amazing, reddies one day and yellas the next.
Thanks Trevor. You're not wrong. I couldn't believe it. I was less than 100 metres from where we caught nothing but redfin. Haha
That was a nice yella, you are right about eating the big one's from the dams . The big ones in copton are the same, too fatty to eat.
In my opinion the big fat Yellowbelly are lovely to eat, however I enjoy the nice rich fat taste. No seasoning required, except for some salt, it's amazing. Each person's preference is different. I love just filleting it, cutting off a small amount of it's fat and putting that fat into the pan with a little salt, and then laying the fillets on that and lightly pan frying them. Other than Barramundi, the Yellowbelly is the most amazing for my personal tastes.
Im going down to Murray river next week can’t wait
Awesome, there's plenty of water mate. It's flooded in a lot of areas.
Great sunrise footage Robbie...makes you glad to be alive!. I would have imagined you having stacks of rods and not reliant on using half a rod LOL. Bit of a long trip from your place to the Lake, but worth the effort.
Thanks so much Neil. Haha I do have plenty of spare rods, but they were 500km away. LOL
Mate you should see my collection of “custom length” rods. They’re all roughly 6-10 inches short off the tip because of… accidents. 😂 Still catching fish though, so no need for replacement yet. Great video as always Robbie. Great inspiration to get out fishing early this morning.
Thanks so much for your kind words mate. Haha Custom length rods. LOL I have a few as well. I tend to give mine to the local kids. They fix them up and give them a new life.
@@robbiefishing that’s a great idea!
Red skies in the morning should be Robbie’s warning ….. Is that how it goes🤔
That said, what a beautiful way to start your day, absolutely stunning.
“Adventures of the butt rod”, the no-tech winching experience, from Robbie Productions, coming to a cinema near you🤣
Love the way the first release yella kept high on the water as it swam out. Looks great against that awesome skyline.
Thanks for sharing
Love your work
Healthy habits 🚶🚶🚶
Thanks so much Moo Moo. The complete winching experience. Hahaha I love it!!
I watch the sunrise most mornings on my morning walk. the most specialist and prettiest time of day I think.
Nice sunset shots mate! And it cracker fish to match. Awesome vid!
Hey Robbie - any chance of another fly fishing for cod attempt (when season reopens)?
Good luck on ya fishing :)
Thanks mate. I will do for sure.
Hey Robbie,
Loving seeing my old fishing grounds whilst recovering from herni operation.
You mentioned a stick/log out a little way. That would have been the retaining wall. The lake looked like 105-110% full as Lachlan River is in flood.
Cheers Scotty
Thanks mate. Its funny, after filming this I watched a CZcams video on the lake and could see a retaining wall, then the penny dropped. Haha
Lovely fish, should call that rod Arfa..🍺🍺
Hahaha I was only using arfa fishing rod. LOL Love it!!
Hey Robbie I would love to see you go and fish lake eppalock again.because the water has came up heaps
That 2nd one would've been straight out of the water into my fry pan lol
Ok… you have wet my appetite… must get up there.. just another excuse to have a beer at Mt Hope 😂
Haha Half your luck. We can't wait to return.
What a stunning sunrise. You caught two beauties. Loved the guitar playing What was the name of the piece of music. Great video hope you have more fish on your holiday.
Thanks so much Vincent. I can not remember the name of the music sorry. I downloaded it for free from the CZcams audio collection on the creator studio. Next time I'm on my PC I will see if I can work it out and let you know.
@@robbiefishing Thanks Robbie your the man.
You can nickname that rod Stumpy, lol. Beaut sunrise, did it rain later?? Oh., and nice Callop too 😁
Thanks Frank. I have a rod thst I have named the Sawn Off so why not Stumoy as well. Hahaha
They sure were lovely callop.
We did get a few showers thst arvo actually, but not huge amounts of rain.
A Brood of ducklings😉
Hi Robbie, you really captured the essence of being out fishing and in nature in those photos. “Robbie Photography featuring some fishing”. Also could you have smoked that yellow belly if you had brought your wild fish smoker?
Thanks for your kind words mate. I probably could have, but it was a family holiday so I as only able to sneak out fishing a couple of times early in the morning.
Another awesome Video Robbie , love the rod holders where did you get them?
Thanks mate. I'm not sure if this will work or not, but here is a link to their Instagram page. You can message them there.

@@robbiefishing Thanks mate, link worked perfectly
Also might be time for a new fishing rod
Haha I'm already onto it mate.
Do you know how to fix that rod? If you have some spare broken rods use a section of that about 6 inches long to feed into the top half of the broken rods that 3 inches or so protrudes the glue the other end on
Thanks mate, what a great idea. To be honest though, this rod cost me about $20 and has caught a stack of fish. AND.... I don't ever look after it. LOL I'm happy for it to retire wounded mate.
@@robbiefishing yea not worth it...keep this one t0 repair an expensive one in the future :) I snapped about 8 inches off the end of a $250 rod and fixed it, hasn't missed a beat.
Why do you release red thin when you catch them
I keep the ones I want to eat and release the rest to catch another day, or for someone else to enjoy catching.
I’ve caught them with those red things on them but what are they 🤔
Hi Duane I am not actually sure myself sorry.
You only took 2 Rods?
Yep.
Frikk'n pearlers mate ..
Thanks mate.
Was this lake in nsw ?
Sure is mate, alake Cargelligo.
@@robbiefishing sheesh ok I live near their 🤣 and just wanna say at in the lake needa a boat their a lot tree and stumps mate a mate of my mate friend caught a monster cod in their
Hi
Hi mate.
Bit of duct tape, fixes all! Gotta ask what are those Red Blemishes?
Thanks Fred. To be honest I'm not really sure mate.
@@robbiefishing every one says it fixed all
Everything in that lake seems supersized.
Cool fish! I love making fishing videos and work really hard to grow my channel and really enjoy your videos! 🤝🤝
Hi Robbie just wondering if you were black queen Has a Coke tip or not I’m just saying that’s not a black queen it’s a black queen deluxe because the normal black queens don’t have Coke coloured guides
Hi mate, I have a Black Queen Deluxe, but it's not in this video.
Yet another video from the best Aussie angler cheers Robbie I might send you an email either tomorrow or tonight
Thanks so much for your kind words mate. Just so you know, my email address is for business purposes only. 👍👍
