- Lake Nillahcootie is still fishing very well. We caught fish on a variety of different lures and baits on this occasion whilst fishing from my dads boat.
Holly came along this time to go fishing from the boat and had a wonderful times as well.
Worms, yabbies, freshwater shrimp, lipless crank baits and hard body lures all caught fish on this trip.
It was a mixed bag of Murray cod, yellowbelly and carp.

What a great day out. Three generation fishing trip, that's got to be hard to top. Your Dad's Yella was a beauty. Bonus wildlife feature : Echidna. Honestly it's a joy to watch you guys enjoying yourselves and sharing the glorious outdoors with all of us. Keep up the great work Robbie!
Hey Damian thanks so much mate. We sure did have a wonderful time.
Poppy went crook at Holly for swearing at one point. Hahahaha Hollynloves to play to the camera. LOL
Had to have a wee chuckle at Holly's pink rod and reel.! My daughter spied that set-up in the tackle shop when she was little, took me a serious bit of explaining as to why it wasn't going to catch anymore fish than the set-up I already had for her. Ultimately I was successful and it stayed in the shop.! 😁
hahaha That's hilarious. Did it have lights on it like this one? LOL
@@robbiefishing it certainly did my friend.! Damn thing lit up like a Christmas tree with every crank of the reel.
Love your work
Thanks heaps Ross.
Ahh, great family fishing vid, was sitting here waiting/hoping for Holly to hook up.
Glad she got a little rod time.
thnx Robbie, keep fishing . . . . . . .
Thanks mate. I felt so sorry for her, she was doing everything right but didn't get a single bite.
holy done a great job
That was definitely a productive day! Nice yellas
Thanks heaps mate.
A great day out!
Sure was mate.
Really loving how the lake is really fishing now it's at its best way better then last year's

Looked like a great day had by all except the mud Marlons.
Thanks Vincent. Sure was a great day. They caused a few line tangles. Hahaha
The old Nillah seems to be on FIRE atm!
Sure is mate, it is fishing very well.
@@robbiefishing SO it seems!
GO DOUGHNUT Day!
Hmmm, why does that remind me of when you went to Nillahcootie once and your dad said I’ll call ya back Bruce and today another guy very familiar
haha Every time dads phone rings he catches a fish. LOL
Nicely done friend
Thanks mate.
Another great session at that lake for you, it's treated you very well lately. Interesting trick with the frozen shrimp in sugar water. Awesome video mate!
Thanks buddy. I can't remember exactly who suggested that, but it certainly worked.
Hey You! Great Session! Nice mixed bag.
Thanks Trevor. Have you been over yet? It's fishing quite well.
Great to see three generations all fishing together Robbie! Great times. Both carp looked fairly alarmed when they saw your Dad's 'knocker' lol.
Thanks Frank. haha My old boss from the 1990's John Kaup made that for him. He was my afternoon shift supervisor and a great bloke. He loved wood turning and was absolutely gifted at his craft. He made that for my old man. Works a treat. LOL
Great video mate 👍🏻
Thanks heaps Matt.
awesome man! I fished a new spot today on the Yarrowee caught 1 brown trout, an eel and a turtle!
Thanks Les. Sounds like you had a great day out mate
I got a jiggle fishing liples crank and caught a 43 centermeter redy

Thanks so much mate.
Should make a shirt that says “I’m in hell of a mess” 😂
Gday gday
Good one Robbie
Thanks heaps Chris.
Hey Robbie. Great video again mate. Could you please make a video with recommendations on all equipment needed for beginners getting started ?
Cheers
Hey buddy, thanks for the kind words and great tip.
I absolutely loved this video. Reminds me of catching some big yellas on yabbies'. But these days I have no clue where the yabbies' have gone?
Thanks mate. They won't be far away buddy. A bit more warm weather and hopefully they come on the chew for you.
Bravo care,
Hey Robbie you need a pair of forceps attached to a dog choke chain and attach it to your fishing vest
NICE CATCH
Thanks mate.
ALL GOOD HAVE FUN FISHING WITH THE FAMILY
Smashing session Robbie, Look at you smashing all the cod in closed season haha. No closed season in Dams in NSW thankfully, mind you i let them all go anyway!
Thanks Ben. I would dearly love to see the closed season lifted in lakes here in Victoria too. By having a closed season on fish that are not spawning, it kind of looks very "greeny" if you know what I mean. By all means leave the rivers and creeks closed where they do spawn,. but open the lakes. Just as they do the trout fishing.
@@robbiefishing won't get any argument from me mate. We have some of the best Cod dams in the country in NSW, Copeton and Windamere especially. Cant tell me that no closed season affects them or their quailty/numbers
I told u the yabbies work good 👍👍
Yabbies have always been one of my favourite yellowbelly baits. The yellas love them.
@@robbiefishing sure do 👍
Mate you have so much luck
I'm a very lucky fisherman Mark.
Jeez a bad fishing trip at Nillahcootie it like 3 fish it’s fishing like mad lately heading for a fish there in a couple weeks can’t wait to get into some yellowbelly
haha Thanks mate. Good luck when you finally make it over buddy.
Gooo Robbie
Thanks James.
Awesome video guys.subbed👍
Thank you so much Brad.
robbiefishing all good brother I love how your just you and that’s it. Don’t change me man👍
Another great day out Robbie. Still waiting for the interview with your dad, mate! I'm sure he has some interesting stuff to say about changes in fishing over his lifetime. Maybe you're trying to hide all those stories about your misspent youth??? :-) Glad to hear things are getting better down south. Cheers PP
Go you guys
We sure had a great morning Paul.
@@robbiefishing TOP day out 3 generations of the family. Your very lucky great memories
we have a lot of those stick fish hear in Australia 😂
haha The good old reindeer fish. LOL
Hi Robbie I'm on my way to work and will look forward to watching this new video some time during the day. On your last video I wrote a comment and I think you missed reading it I know you are so so busy with so many subscribers I can only imagine. So I've pasted the same comment here again. I said the old ones are the best but I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say.
NOOOO!!!! Robbie. I didn't explain myself very well in my last comment. I love the farkens each and every one of them. I always laugh when you visit them it's hilarious. When I said the old ones are the best I meant that you have done the farkens now a few times their becoming an old joke and the old ones are the best. It's like me taking a dram and then the cough and me saying for the chest. I never though people would get to love that I just did it and now they expect it and want it as I would like you to continue calling in every now and then to see how the farkens are getting on imagine catching a brand new baby farkens and he knows who you are because he's been told by his parents about the man that comes every now and then to visit and give them a free worm photograph them and put them up on CZcams. I hope to see more of the farkens in the future. You have a great channel my favourite on CZcams keep up the great work keep entertaining the world. Your the BEST. THE BEST ROBBIE. 😉
hahahaha Thanks Vincent. I love your dram for the chest. In Australia most people wouldn't know what a dram is. We call it a shot. LOL Like your talking sheep and cows... it neeeeeee.e.e.e.e.e.ever gets old. LOL hahahaha
I knew I should have gone over earlier.. The fish go off the bite when i arrive. I go in the arvo, all reports are it fished well in the morning, I go in the morning and then hear nothing fired until after lunch. can't catch a break atm. lol
Put the hours in and go all day

Who the hell would dislike this video?
LOL mate there's some sad sacks around. Give it 24 hours and there will probably be 6 or 7. Nobody is immune. LOL Water off a ducks back to me mate.
@@robbiefishing mate I just cannot believe anybody could dislike these videos. Keep them coming Robbie.
Gonna lay down on my bed eat ice cream watch this vid
Mmmmm Ice cream... I love ice cream.
@@robbiefishing haha who does not
The best thing you were able to get in that boat was three generations of Alexanders.
Haha sure was pretty special mate.
Do more of these vidsplz
3 generations of the family there Robbie. Life is short and and we should cherish it while we can. I am going out in a few days, to try the Murray where I live. Where Is Lake Nillahcootie? Cheers
Absolutely Phil, I agree 100% mate. Never waste a day. Good luck on the Murray. Lake Nillahcootie is on the Broken River between Benalla and Mansfield, just around the corner from Bonnie Doon on Lake EIldon.
@@robbiefishing My sister lives near there. I may try it one day.
Wow I’m surprised you didn’t catch any Redfin
Hey Luke, the redfin have all but disappeared from Nillahcootie. As with many waterways that are stocked with yellowbelly. As soon as the yellas start to dominate the reddies just vanish.
Another good video Robbie do you ever take a feed of fish home I had yellow belly years ago was ok a little fat for me liking
Thanks Phillip. I LOVE a feed of yellowbelly provided it is not too big. My dad kept 2 of these, the rest went back in. I will keep a stocked yellowbelly, but prefer to release trout in streams as fisheries will not stock them to replace the fish we catch and I prefer to release cod in the rivers. I reckon I could easily keep a feed of Murray cod from Lake Nillahcootie though.
Where were the dad jokes haha
Nice 1 Robbie mate.. Great mix . Is your dad’s boat a stessl edge tracker ? 3.7 ? Was just wondering looking at 1 as we speak cheers mate
Thanks mate. No I think it is a bermuda but I could be wrong. It is a 4 meter whatever it is.
Nice looking little boat
Hey robbie
What depth would you recommend when chasing yellas in Lake nilacoutie?
Hi mate it all depends on so many things. On this trip we caught them in water ranging from 4ft to 12ft.
I think I should go fishing at that lake after lockdown
And what camera do you use for this video
It's a great lake mate. There's links to my camera in my video description buddy.
Thanks
The next recommended video after this one was titled “Can Jeremy Wade catch the near extinct Murray Cod?”
Hahahaha how ironic. "Near extinct" now there's a click bait title if I ever saw one.
@@robbiefishing Dark waters episode, its a bad show. lol I did a parody of it because it was that bad. lol
What rods were they
Hey buddy there were 5 different rods in this video.
What was the one with the red
Robbie change the channel name to (robbie fishing "am I filming? 😁)
Who do you talk to in Australia about the law with fishing what are you aloud to keep and when and what licenses im coming over on holiday would love to do some fishing
Hi Damian, each state is different. You would need to google fishing regulations for the state that you are fishing in.
Where I live in Victoria there is a Victorian fisheries app.
@@robbiefishing thank you so much for the help
awww the website has the lure sold out, snooze ya loose I guess
Ahh bugger. Sold out of all colours or just my favourite colour? Hopefully they get more in soon mate.
@@robbiefishing They have orange one left, silver and yellow ones sold out. too bad, silver was my second choice hehe oh well. Will have to check again at a later date
Hey robbie what do you call a person with no arm or legs floating in the ocean
Bob
LOL Like the guy at your door with no arms and legs.... Matt.
Hey mate can you pin me pls there the boat there holy there’s water there’s rods I can see it being a great vid
Thanks mate, I hope you like the video. The problem is that I am not pinning you, I am pinning your mums account. LOL
@@robbiefishing is that in a mean way or what
@@katelynrobbo6441 it’s a joke
You need a sign or tattoo yourself to know you filming
Haha yeah I know right! I like to film in 4k but I can't film continuously or the camera gets too hot.
