Ruger American Rimfire. As good as a Precision Rimfire for the average shooter? Could be!

  • Just picked up this Ruger American Rimfire Model 8334 with the 18” barrel.
I have a 3-9x Simmons 8 point scope on it. Took a little to get it sighted in, but I was getting groups as small as about .60”-.75”
Honestly, I was getting groups about the same as what I get with my 10/22 Target or my Ruger Precision Rimfire. It may be that I found the limit of my ammo, as the CCI standard velocity consistently get me sub .75” groups.
Needless to say, I love these American Series rifles. Now I have the Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39, the American Predator in .223, and this American Rimfire in .22LR.
I’m very impressed with this rifle.

I’ve watched this video a handful of times over the last 4 months. I’ve had this rifle for about 5 months. Put a Vortex Crossfire II 2x7 Rimfire scope and a cheaper Caldwell bipod on it. I finally got to shoot it for the first time yesterday. Sighted it in for 50 yards using CCI SV and if I do my job correctly i can fill a 1” square all day long. Shot 100 rounds. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Next time I want to see what it does at 100 yards. The shooting club I just joined does 100 yard rimfire egg shoots every month that sound really fun. Thanks for the video!

There is a significant bullet drop for all 22 LR at 100 yards even on a calm day with no wind. Haven’t shot for a long time. Just bought this rifle but different model number that doesn’t come with the picatinny rail. Not an issue. Have plenty of magazines from my Ruger 10/22 rifle.

Recently bought a 10/22 and now I have a Ruger American 30-06 that I have not fired yet and I’m shopping for a Ruger American Rimfire. This is worse than my guitar addiction! Did I mention I bought a Mossberg 500 after the 10/22? Most of slipped my mind. I bought some solid entry level guns and will now add on some higher quality guns as I learn more. This is a lot of fun and I like the aspect of exercising my rights as well as having tools that can feed, protect, and entertain me. Thanks for the videos.

Its top notch, I got it sited in with the AR cci 40 grain 1200 fps and its a tack driver I tried lots of other ammo and it liked this one the best. I did my own mods on the trigger and got it to a 2# pull. When on my annual squirrel hunting contest in middle of February I took my first squirrel on the first shot at 80 yards to the head. I was shooting (5) shot Nickle size groups at 50 yards at the range. I sports a Vortex Crossfire scope also. Thanks for reminding me to send the update.
