This show has an uncanny valley feeling about it. Any time it starts to seem the least bit normal or promising, the upside down version of Halo spins it’s head around and smiles through you like a Cheshire Cat.

HALO: THE TV SHOW show,where they use fake advertisng of posters , and nothing of it happend in the show, where more than half the cast were women acting like girl bosses, with multiple diversity couples and men being talked down by said women, where only the few men characters die, where girl bosses get more character development than the actual male spartans or the race swapped captain keyes. where the covenent only brings swords to an invasion and run around like zombies, where the rest of the covenant is no where to be found. where the arbiter has no problem killing his own race yet he turns around and lets master cheeks stand up (unless the 5'0 woman leader of the covenant yells at him to not kill him like in episode 2) where there is not a single scene of marines fighting, where the few marines they had, don't know how to turn on their flashlight in the dark....I can keep going but I will stop here
Literally played the old Halo game to "wash the taste out of my mouth" from this show. SO MUCH SOURCE MATERIAL, and they adapted none of it to make a stronger saga.

In halo 2 he has the chip in his helmet the entire time. SgtMaj. Johnson removes it from his helmet at the beginning of 3, Masterchief takes it back after waking up and remembers his promise to Cortana. In the games the chip thingy is Cortana's way of using Chief's armor systems. In the show, it makes no sense, she can go wherever she wants if the plot needs her to.
Yeah that bothered me too, in the games (1-3) Cortana directs Chief several times to place her down in specific spots, so it’s not like she can magically teleport wherever she wants. When aboard enemy ships or in places like high charity there are usually covenant security walls in place that Cortana needs time to breach in order for both herself and Chief to proceed/gather intel.
This show is the definition of pure unfiltered slop. The writers don't give a shit. The directors don't give a shit. The actors don't give a shit. A soulless product just shat out for the lowest common denominator and NOT for fans of Halo. There is zero reason for this show to have "Halo" in the title.
1/10 is too generous for being Halo but I do agree as a general Sci-Fi show, 1/10 is fitting. Maybe 2/10 for set pieces and the extremely limited combat we do get

I remember when a season had 20-25 episodes and how now days they have shortened seasons to 10 episodes for this generation that loses attention fast. That being said, this show should be canceled as it is a disgrace to the Halo franchise. I feel 343 is basically another Disney handed an incredible franchise like Star Wars and just exploiting as much money as they can get off the name alone.

Denis Villeneuve should direct a halo movie. Loosely follow the events of halo one. Starts at the pillar of autumn arriving at halo. Doesn’t have to be canonically accurate but should be thematically, aesthetically, and tonal consistent to halo 1. Steve Downes as voice of chief. Keep chief off screen for the most part. When he is on screen do him right. Follow Sargent J or some other squad around for the most part. Horror elements ramped up the whole time.

It's very clear from the portrayal of the flood that the writers were told the flood were zombies. ALMOST ANY Halo fan could have told them otherwise. Please Microsoft cancel this abomination of a show.
It really wouldn't surprise me if someone said they were "parasitic space zombies" and the writers misunderstood and used Resident Evil as the basis for the Flood rather than the Halo wiki because _"Eh? All zombies are the same, right? If you've seen one, you've seen them all."_ These seem to have more in common with the "modified Romero zombies" from Resident Evil, rather than the "Lovecraftian eldritch abominations" from Halo novels.
I liked the flood scenes, in my mind the slower infection makes sense, considering this was a spore infection which we have not seen before. This is almost even a pre feral stage infection.
Seems like someone learned that Halo has space zombies and somehow opened the Resident Evil wiki by mistake. And what did they do with the Spartan-III's, make them the ODST's of the Silver Timeline?
I don't understand why they brought the Flood into the story so soon, the war with the Covenant has barely started but no quick we need to move onto to next humanity ending species.And it's so annoying that we still have to rely on lazy writing with characters being so incredibly dumb to get the plot to work. I do love the through line of Master Chief always bailing out on his fellow soldiers after briefly fighting along side them. Also yeah why does M/C even care about Cortana he never seemed to even like her that much certainly not enough to risk his life/mission.
The funny thing is I have hated the show so far and I recognize all of the plot contrivances, understand all of the things they’ve fumbled, but the one thing I genuinely disagree with a lot of people about is the Flood. People are mischaracterizing the infection as being inaccurate, but this is the first visual representation of a spore outbreak we’ve seen, and considering many of them mutate within an hour, I genuinely am happy with at least that. I’m not excusing the show, or the finale. My ultimate point in this wall of text is simply to say that I have hope that they’re headed in a more agreeable direction. I don’t think it’s right for people to hate on others for having hope. Opinions are something we can’t do anything about, but I also think that some of the people who despise the show refuse to accept anything, whether it has good or bad implications. Honestly the community makes me almost as sad as the show does.

well it’s heavily implied that the flood spore(super cell clusters) acts differently from we expected due to our more accustomed experience with the pod type infection form Instead of the pure package of the flood super cells(spore) the pod form is the one that that shortly transforms the living and dead into combat forms As it’s shown in the Monalisa graphic novel flood infection by contact with the cells themselves act differently from a fully formed combat form since it still can resurrect the recently deceased and needs intact bodies to turn into combat forms but it takes a bit longer for the complete transformation to finish , dismantled bodies are converted into bio mass, there are also some disturbing moments in the Monalisa story from the halo novels collection because one flood combat form was noticed to be attempting to smile and was trying to hide its combat claw folded behind its human arm, yes there was a proto grave mind in the process of formation.
Really sad to see Master chief in his armor for only 1st ep, ep 7 (really short not that long), and last ep 8 ... really bummed out Vannak died from Var Gatanai the other Arbiter would've been more fitting if it was Thel Vadam the Arbiter. I felt it was a fitting end to Vannak but the war felt like it hasn't been that long or even close to the middle would've prefer him to die during those moments in time. I really like this video hope for more other content.

The flood did look like shit. To be fair the introduction of the flood in the books made what ever it can in contact with be more aggressive. I agree with you though they dropped the ball.
The way the flood is shown in the TV series could definitely have been worse in my opinion. In the books, Pvt Jenkins had a very slow turn once he was infected and he actually remained semi conscious through it which is more terrifying.
when chief punched the console , cortana could access his suit, not because of his suit, but because of the covenant ship. The spike was going to work on the same principle,, how was the spike supposed to deliver a massive and complex computer program?? Because the spike would have a databus and the ships bridge would be able to send energy across the medium of the spike, find out how to connect to the databus (for example, how to access the tip of each wire through the spike medium,, what signal, what frequency, etc. would result in the ability to transfer data specifically to a wire tip ) .... Master chiefs suit merely had to allow for the ship to be able to find an uplink somewhere in it,, it merely had to be conductive just enough for the ship to be able to auto-acquire a possible data link, and then cortana would be able to access that uplink. The covenant ships already work like that kind of automatically detected databus connection where you just shove whatever type of connection into the console, and it will figure out a way to get data across to it.
What is truly AMAZING about this show is that it actually got made. What I mean is imagine being given the Star Wars of this Generation, a Golden Goose, a license to PRINT MONEY.....because that's what Halo is. Imagine being given all of that and still utterly failing. This show is like spiking the Ball at the finish line, like kicking the Soccer Ball over the net when the Goalie is lying prostate ten feet from the Goal, like two Heavyweight Boxers nocking each other out simultaneously with the first Punch in the first round of a Championship fight. Any half decent adaptation of the source material would have lead to Game of Thrones levels of ratings and marketing tie ins with action figures, T shirts and an infinite numbers of products. The Actors, Directors and Producers would have become household names with career opportunities falling from the sky. This show could have paid for Paramount's budget for the next DECADE !!! They had all that opportunity and they left it all on the table and for what? Girl bosses with plot armour, an Alienated Fan base, ruined careers Flood zombies ripped off from the last of us and most importantly ....no money.... The only saving grace of this show is that in five years no one will remember it at which point hopefully someone at least Simi talented with half a brain can reboot it..... Jesus Christ what a missed opportunity.

I remember when a season had 20-25 episodes and how now days they have shortened seasons to 10 episodes for this generation that loses attention fast. That being said, this show should be canceled as it is a disgrace to the Halo franchise. I feel 343 is basically another Disney handed an incredible franchise like Star Wars and just exploiting as much money as they can get off the name alone.
They have to entirely wipe this and start fresh with something faithful to the universe but they can’t now because it’s too late.

Doesn’t have to be canonically accurate but should be thematically, aesthetically, and tonal consistent to halo 1. Steve Downes as voice of chief. Keep chief off screen for the most part. When he is on screen do him right. Follow Sargent J or some other squad around for the most part. Horror elements ramped up the whole time.

It's very clear from the portrayal of the flood that the writers were told the flood were zombies. ALMOST ANY Halo fan could have told them otherwise. Please Microsoft cancel this abomination of a show.
It really wouldn't surprise me if someone said they were "parasitic space zombies" and the writers misunderstood and used Resident Evil as the basis for the Flood rather than the Halo wiki because _"Eh? All zombies are the same, right? If you've seen one, you've seen them all."_
These seem to have more in common with the "modified Romero zombies" from Resident Evil, rather than the "Lovecraftian eldritch abominations" from Halo novels.
I liked the flood scenes, in my mind the slower infection makes sense, considering this was a spore infection which we have not seen before. This is almost even a pre feral stage infection.

I don't understand why they brought the Flood into the story so soon, the war with the Covenant has barely started but no quick we need to move onto to next humanity ending species.And it's so annoying that we still have to rely on lazy writing with characters being so incredibly dumb to get the plot to work. I do love the through line of Master Chief always bailing out on his fellow soldiers after briefly fighting along side them. Also yeah why does M/C even care about Cortana he never seemed to even like her that much certainly not enough to risk his life/mission.
The funny thing is I have hated the show so far and I recognize all of the plot contrivances, understand all of the things they’ve fumbled, but the one thing I genuinely disagree with a lot of people about is the Flood. People are mischaracterizing the infection as being inaccurate, but this is the first visual representation of a spore outbreak we’ve seen, and considering many of them mutate within an hour, I genuinely am happy with at least that. I’m not excusing the show, or the finale. My ultimate point in this wall of text is simply to say that I have hope that they’re headed in a more agreeable direction. I don’t think it’s right for people to hate on others for having hope. Opinions are something we can’t do anything about, but I also think that some of the people who despise the show refuse to accept anything, whether it has good or bad implications. Honestly the community makes me almost as sad as the show does.
I'm a simple man... just give me a grunt squad holding dual plasma rifles and retreating for their dear life screaming "DEMONS" while being both dirty fighting and glory hounding with suicide grenades for the survival of their squad. well it’s heavily implied that the flood spore(super cell clusters) acts differently from we expected due to our more accustomed experience with the pod type infection form
Instead of the pure package of the flood super cells(spore) the pod form is the one that that shortly transforms the living and dead into combat forms
As it’s shown in the Monalisa graphic novel flood infection by contact with the cells themselves act differently from a fully formed combat form since it still can resurrect the recently deceased and needs intact bodies to turn into combat forms but it takes a bit longer for the complete transformation to finish , dismantled bodies are converted into bio mass, there are also some disturbing moments in the Monalisa story from the halo novels collection because one flood combat form was noticed to be attempting to smile and was trying to hide its combat claw folded behind its human arm, yes there was a proto grave mind in the process of formation.
Most of the fighting in the show is done by females, 90% of it is about girl bosses

Really sad to see Master chief in his armor for only 1st ep, ep 7 (really short not that long), and last ep 8 ... really bummed out Vannak died from Var Gatanai the other Arbiter would've been more fitting if it was Thel Vadam the Arbiter. I felt it was a fitting end to Vannak but the war felt like it hasn't been that long or even close to the middle would've prefer him to die during those moments in time. I really like this video hope for more other content.
They found the flood in Onyx. Seriously? They found it on a shield world that was designed to protect its people from the flood. I don't know what the writers were on when writing this.

The coin flip scene is more symbolism than him actually using the coin to decide. If you remember how they bring up how he guessed heads 11 times in a row which is almost statistically impossible basically what I’m saying is he already knew what choice he was gonna make he just flips the coin for the fuck of it

The way the flood is shown in the TV series could definitely have been worse in my opinion. In the books, Pvt Jenkins had a very slow turn once he was infected and he actually remained semi conscious through it which is more terrifying.

when chief punched the console , cortana could access his suit, not because of his suit, but because of the covenant ship. The spike was going to work on the same principle,, how was the spike supposed to deliver a massive and complex computer program?? Because the spike would have a databus and the ships bridge would be able to send energy across the medium of the spike, find out how to connect to the databus (for example, how to access the tip of each wire through the spike medium,, what signal, what frequency, etc. would result in the ability to transfer data specifically to a wire tip ) .... Master chiefs suit merely had to allow for the ship to be able to find an uplink somewhere in it,, it merely had to be conductive just enough for the ship to be able to auto-acquire a possible data link, and then cortana would be able to access that uplink. The covenant ships already work like that kind of automatically detected databus connection where you just shove whatever type of connection into the console, and it will figure out a way to get data across to it.

What is truly AMAZING about this show is that it actually got made. What I mean is imagine being given the Star Wars of this Generation, a Golden Goose, a license to PRINT MONEY.....because that's what Halo is. Imagine being given all of that and still utterly failing. This show is like spiking the Ball at the finish line, like kicking the Soccer Ball over the net when the Goalie is lying prostate ten feet from the Goal, like two Heavyweight Boxers nocking each other out simultaneously with the first Punch in the first round of a Championship fight. Any half decent adaptation of the source material would have lead to Game of Thrones levels of ratings and marketing tie ins with action figures, T shirts and an infinite numbers of products. The Actors, Directors and Producers would have become household names with career opportunities falling from the sky. This show could have paid for Paramount's budget for the next DECADE !!! They had all that opportunity and they left it all on the table and for what? Girl bosses with plot armour, an Alienated Fan base, ruined careers Flood zombies ripped off from the last of us and most importantly ....no money.... The only saving grace of this show is that in five years no one will remember it at which point hopefully someone at least Simi talented with half a brain can reboot it..... Jesus Christ what a missed opportunity.
