    This does not flash the ECM as you stated in the video. If it did, there would be no need to permanently install this devise on your bike. It rewrites your ECM data in real-time to include the modified values stored on the commander.

    if the module were to fail could i remove it and would it run and revert back to the stock tune?

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  Před 9 lety

      +Joey Lemay If it were to fail, your bike would return to the stock tune in the ECM and therefore it probably wouldn't be running optimally with your engine/performance mods, but you should be able to limp the bike home or to a shop where you could get the situation resolved.

    I have a power commander V. I recently changed fuel check valve because it was leaking. Bike was acting up when you put on throttle. It died and didn't wanna start. Had to put a dif hose clamp. It came loose and so it seems when the bike gets hot it shuts down or if you put on the gas it dies. I'm stumped. 2006 nite train

      Sorry to hear of your situation. Have you checked your air box / air filter? Restricted air flow can cause a similar issue. That would be my first step down a rabbit hole of options... Good luck. - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

    Hey. Do I have to dyno tune my bike if I add the powercommander? Or it's not necessary?

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  Před 9 lety

      El Profe No you shouldn't have to dyno tune. Just download the proper map according to your specific year, make, model and exhaust.

      Hello, we suggest contacting Dyno Jet directly, or taking it to a motorcycle mechanic with Dyno Jet Power Commander experience.

    Does this help with the throttle response? Does it get quicker or stay the same?

    I recently added a pcfc to a 2010 z1000. The pcfc came with only a stock map version to select. Hahahahaha I. I have a y pipe installed and short can aftermarket mufflers. What map do I need for this setup?? I still have the stock headers on the bike with the y pipe.
    Thanks
