Kassandra sounds a lot more quiet and serious while Alexios sounds more loud and energetic. Basically I think Alexios sounds better whenever there is a scene where their supposed to be angry but Kassassandra is better for the more serious moments. Only Alexios can say Malaka though.
Kassandra always reminded me about wonder woman and I love it. That's why I can't play alexios. Mainly because I just think the voice actress does a better job than alexios voice actor
I wonder why Kassandra should be the main character. As far as i know there were no female spartans, a male fits better for that. Its okay being able to play as female but then with a better fitting background story. I think the same about Valhalla. Why dont they make an AC about the maid of orleans? That would be great.
There were female Spartans but we have no record of them ever participating in war. It was likely that they were combat trained to help protect the homestead. Same with Viking women(although we do have evidence they traveled). But we must also remember AC at this point has pretty heavy sci fi /fantasy elements so it’s not entirely historically accurate when it comes to roles
Old comment but let's not forget that Kassandra is no longer a part of Spartan society. When we meet her she's been living on her own for most of her life with no need to fit into any social norms.
@@kylevanderwolf4446 I was watching a documenation about female vikings and there was no real proof that much women fought in wars. They could find that out in graveyards of them. HeyIamNick by assassins creed they have botched quite a bit of its legacy. But it’s new style is great but they should’ve been realistic as that place and time had no female Spartans it’s illogical and I’m not afraid to play a female I’ve been playing Lara Croft since i was younger.
I am about to start this for the first time - Legendary Edition I think. I just cannot play as a female and I have always felt weird or creepy in other games during so. I heard a lot of gripes about the male characters' voice acting and I think it's doable from this video. It's hammy, but I like cheesy movies and dubbed movies. I kinda like that he seems a little thick. I'm just going to pretend he's Kurt Russell's character in Big Trouble in Little China!! 🤪
Both voice actors are really good. They're supposed to be Greek and have greek accents where it doesn't really translate that well in English because Greek and English are very different. People who say the voice acting is bad have no idea what they're talking about.
I think Alexios’ is better all around. As the Misthios and Deimos. IMO I think the voice acting was better in every way and in every scene. Kassandras voice actor did a phenomenal job, I just think Alexios’ did better in every way. That’s just my opinion though
Definitely. He sounds pretty annoying or cheesy, or both, or something. I wanted to like him, but I feel like I'm trying too hard to like him. With Kassandra, I don't feel like I'm trying. She just feels more genuine as the protagonist. I'm definitely going to be choosing Kassandra, which I wasn't expecting to do, so I'm not biased.
Gtl Ridge Overall Kassandra just sounds like she could be an actual person. Sure she’s not an *incredible* voice actor, but Alexios is too cartoony in my opinion
Who should I play with? I feel like Kassandra’s voice acting is quite a bit better. But I read a lot of positive comments about Alexios. I prefer Kassandra in the first 2. Mostly prefer Alexios in number 3 tho. More intimidating for the scene. Still doubting haha
I started a second gameplay last week as Kassandra this time and I found it odd playing as her. I mean a girl raised and trained to be a warrior by her father who also has a younger son in Ancient Sparta. Really? It didn't make a sense to me at all. She is not bad but Alexios as a male is simply more fitting to this era. Kassandra seemed better for stealth and she was calmer and more thoughtful, Alexios on the other hand is quick tempered, sarcastic and funny which I enjoyed more. I probably won't finnish the game with Kassandra ever because I started as Alexios again yesterday 😆
Actually in Sparta women were taught to fight and were well educated by the state in the effort to raise better, well informed soldiers. So it does make sense but both do great jobs playing the character, so it's all preference
True Spartans were all male and the strength and technique was their key. However, I couldn't play as Alexio because of his body language which was very feminine. Plus Kassandra is sexy.
Since my PS broke down in 2010 and my computer couldn't run new games, this was my first AC game. Now I have 1, 2, Brotherhood and Unity in my Steam library... planning to buy more soon
there's a trend where the male protagonist sounds like a video game character, while the female protagonist sounds totally flawless, natural and believable. another example recently was V in Cyberpunk. seems like they always direct the male voice actor to sound more manly and badass when it's totally unnecessary
I think kassandra has much more character and personality even though they have the same lines it’s wonders what voice acting can do to change the whole entire vibe of a game
it feels that way because her voice is more emotional but if we are looking at it realistically alexios has better voice acting because he has a less emotional voice, which is more realistic for a mercenary
I highly doubt that just on the basis of simple probability. Are you seriously telling me that in the long period of Ancient Greece no woman ever picked up a sword? Throughout the entirety of human history there were always people not caring about established social norms.
I like alexios he feels like he is a mercenary and is scarred by the incident on the mountain and kassadra i like as demois she feels like she is being manipulated by the cult and alexios as demois he just feels pure evil..
That's exactly how I'm playing her 😂 I love her. I like both characters but I feel like Kassandra's voice works better for the story. The sarcasm and flirting especially. I feel like Alexios just sounds cheesy
I like how sassy and funny Alexios could be but I also like how terrifying He is when He is serious. I cant imagine my self playing the legacy of the first blade DLC as Kasandra.
I'm like 80hours into the game as Alexios and i swear if i was playing as kassandra i would have restart the game just to play Alexios, she does a better role as Deimos than Alexios, and he fits more to the adventure type protagonist
I can't decide. Alexios feels like he fits in the conversations and his mocap works for him but his voice acting, while not bad, sounds like he is in a cartoon. Kassandra voice sounds more natural but she doesn't seem like she fits in the conversation for some reason. Her mocap is clearly Alexios's so she kinda looks awkward sometimes. This is a weird one.
If you want the feel of playing a fearless and scary warrior that actually feels like your enemies are scared to fight you, play Alexios. If you want a badass female character that has a feel of Wonder Woman like then play Kassandra.
I started this game today and I wanted to see kassandras side as well but I'm seeing that a lot of people don't like alexios for some reason. Personally he reminds me a lot of ezio from 2 and brotherhood
I feel like people who are calling Alexios’s voice terrible are over compensating because they didn’t want a male player character to share the spotlight with Kassandra. Because his voice is perfectly fine. I’ve heard terrible voice acting in games and his is not terrible by any stretch. If you want to play Kassandra then by all means, but don’t shit on a perfectly good voice actor to make her seem better by comparison. It’s dumb.
God why can't people just not like his voice? Why does it have to be "People dont want a male character to share the spotlight..." I literally picked her cause his voice is annoying. No other reason. I dont even like playing as female but she seems more real in terms of voice acting and animations.
He just has an annoying sounding voice, it sound cheesy and he kinda lacks emotion, everything he says sound like he's acting, not like a natural voice. I don't think it has much to do with feminism or whatever, he just sounds annoying so they go with Kassandra
Or people just don't like his voice. There's no agenda behind it. I played both characters and his voice is unbelievable and it sounds fake. Kassandra's is more natural and I like hers better. It has nothing to do with not wanting to play a male because Ezio, Edward, and other AC male protagonists had good voice actors. This one just sucks
Chase Carter because of how insistent people are that Kassandra is so much more better when she’s not. I found the same exact problem with Kassandra but I don’t shout to the rooftops how much better Alexios is like how everyone does with Kassandra. It’s an overcompensation that people use to feel valid when there’s nothing wrong with Alexios
I'm a simple woman, if I see a female protagonist in a video game, I choose her xD There are already many games where you can only play as a male, so I appreciate the opportunity to choose, even if it's not "historically accurate". It's a fantasy video game after all, not a history lesson
What you tried to express has no logic at all. The game takes place in Ancient Greece, telling the Peloponnesian War between Sparta, Athens, Persian. The game world is formed by thousands of philosophers, including Socrates, among others, apart from the cultural enrichment. Then you come to tell me that the game does not follow a cultural line?
I'm not sure why, but Kassandra seems to fit the role of the main character a bit better than Alexios. Maybe its the dialogue and how they say it. I will say though, Kassandra as Deimos is terrifying while Alexios as Deimos is less so and feels a little more like a spoiled kid with anger issues given a ton of control. Just something about their tone of voice and the way they say things creates that perception in my mind.
@androtaz01 Interesting. Maybe the way one perceives the two in either role depends the type of person, or one's experience's in life. Or maybe it just depends on which one you played as first.
Eh I think Alexios fits the role better. Also I’m surprised they said kassandra was the cannon character. They mostly used alexios in the trailers and art. To me it just seems that they designed the game after alexios.
I know this was 3 years ago but yeah they designed the game for Alexios. They took a pole and saw people preferred Kassandra and changed it after the fact. It doesn't make sense to have the male lead be in all the promotional stuff and say "No the female lead was canon all along". As a woman I call bs.
@@nienneelendil6582 They knew the demographic they were trying to convince at the time, if you had seen the outrage online at simply the existence of Kassandra and the queer romance options in the game you'd understand why at the time they chose to market the game with the generic strong guy main character, it was simply much more palatable to a large chunk of the playerbase. :/ Targeted advertising also promoted the game with Kassandra in the images and footage to individuals that were likely to respond well to it.
This comment was 4 yrs ago but I agree, woman mc in ac Odyssey main gameplay make no sense at all unless she is a great assassin and a demigod for story context. The stories make more sense to play with Alexios as it is a mercenary based and a warrior battle plane. Even the DLC legacy of the first blade started to make no sense to play as Kassandra when we reach ep3. For Atlantis DLC, it suit Kassandra more for me since demigod here make Kassandra looks more divine while having mercenary brute life. Alexios kinda looks goofy in that DLC. But for gameplay wise, Kassandra is a badass character and I like other great women characters in the game like Aspasia and Myrrine. They're both born to a leader even though for Aspasia, she lost control of it when Deimos enter the cult. Daphne of daughter of Artemis also have a unique charm, strong physical build but soft aura make it somehow sexy and attractive. Kassandra dialog tone and voice are really great but Alexios gave a different vibe and more grounded. We know that most male gamers love to play as a women. Me too😂 but for odyssey all round, I prefer Alexios.
All the kassandra hype train, Alexios seems more firm and tough “better when sarcastic” than her IMO also I’d rather a more of a spartan experience in this than an assassin experience, kassandra seems more for that part tbh
I mean, its Assassin's Creed. Its supposed to be with assasin techniques. But I see where you're going. Alexious gives more of a historical experience but Kassandra gives a more of a "Assassin's Creed" experience.
I agree completely. Kassandra's dialogue lacks emotions and she's way too boring for the role of a mercenary surviving during those tough times. Alexios comes off as way more realistic to me and plus he's hilarious which I love.
Is there anyone who picked Alexios because of historical accuracy? Female mercenary is such a rarity in ancient Greece, I still don't understand why there were so many female bandits and pirates in Odyssey
I picked kassan because she is hot, and she is also the cannon choice. Also every ac game has a male protagonist anyway,so i didn't mind switching it up
The first scene is more appropriate for Alexios. Like really who would call a female a "sh*t-face" and immediately punch her in the face. And Alexios's reaction is just hilarious 0:14 - He is like "WTF?!"
you cant be serious lmao. look at the time period... I mean.. humanity itself.. some crackhead is doing it to another female crackhead RIGHT now.. TF loll
Yes it is true, but maybe because we are too used to sexism in dialogues, or men being gentlemen with the fairer sex. All the dialogues in the game were built thinking of Alexios, then you switch him with a Woman and you finally see how correct it all sounds. The story will be about a mercenary that happens to be a woman, not about a woman that happens to be a mercenary. I love the game for this reason, just as much as i love Mass Effect
I like Alexios more since his personality is a sarcastic shithead, and I can vibe with that. Plus the introduction scene with Deimos is better with Kassandra as she can really play up the evil
Idk who’s better and it’s really complicating the game for me. Origins was unique where you played as mainly a male protagonist who was also a family man and a father. Amazing story. This one seems a little divided though considering more people chose Alexios with more fans being male and possibly being able to relate to a male more being a badass spartan in the game. But the game makes sense also why Kassandra is technically “canon” considering you can’t block and have to dodge more and be tactical. And how in some assassinations you clearly go for the enemies balls lol
I’m confused how the inability to block (which u can by the way xD u parry attacks when u block hits correctly) and that you have to dodge….mean that Kassandra makes more sense??
I prefer Alexios over Kassandra because Kassandra fits that OTHER role way better (hint hint spoilers) and all Spartans I knew were men soooooooooo.....
@@saolift8442 How else would a realitvely normal woman stand a chance against a man (especially if he's a demi god). If we're going down the realism road, the only way kas would stand a chance against alex physically, would be if she has magic powers and all that bs.
She is a self-trained warrior OF Sparta, not a spartan. even though Kassandra is a woman and most Ancient Greek women stayed home does not mean ALL women did. Cyrane, Artemisia, Eurydice of Macedon were some of many (but few) women who participated in battle. Also, Spartan women were also trained in battle as they were seen as the last line of defence if Sparta should fall
After playing the game with both characters Kassandra Fits Deimos way better , I enjoyed playing as both but in terms of payoff Play as Alexios to enjoy kassandra as deimos

In my first original play through I played as Alexios because to me it made more sense, yeah at times he was corny but he still gave me a warrior type of feel.. since I never beat the game(data was deleted) I am playing my second play through as kassandra and so far she does has a much better feel... but I don’t mind either or
When the rogue said” that’s for last week” he sounded scarily like Cesare Borgia.
And between the two. I like them both, they both have their upsides and downsides.
"I play Kassandra because she turns me o- i mean better uh voice acting, yeah, right." (-_-) You know who u are. (Love Alexios)
I'm playing her because she is cannon while crying inside cause alexios is such a spartan bad ass :c why am I like this?
And i dont even know any story about female spartans. Women had a much different role in that time anyway. Its just that woke feminism they want to believe in.
@@kylevanderwolf4446 I dont even understand why people look so obstinated for females who might have been warriors back then and even if it was any case there only were very very few.
@@MatiZ815 You can feel it that Alexios should be the villain and he fits much better into the role. Thats even a reason why most male npcs have a crush on you, because it was intented that you play Kassandra. Yeah yeah i know that there were gay people in ancient greek but thats not the reason why they did this.
Pre-ordered the Ultimate Version today, now it's installing already since it's 12am in Greece rn... And thanks to your vid I'll go with Kassandra, love her persona 😍😍😍
You are a Spartan?
Yes, her greek (Μαλάκα, Μάρκος, Δραχμή) is actually slightly better than the male actor.
@@kael7953 arcadian
@@DogOfHades that's kinda sad since male voice actor is actually Spartan lol.
@@seraby7151 they are both correct, i dunno what that guy is talking about
I finished the game with Alexios, and then I learnt that the game was made to be played as Kassandra...I still don't regret it, I loved Alexios and will probably play the game again with him as the lead character.
I'm in love with Kassandra.
😑
😍

Right....... ok.....
Alexios : better facial animation.
Kassandra : better voice acting.
I really dont see the problem with the voice acting but you do you hun
Dimosthenis Karamparpas Historically accurate in a game where you fight Minotaur, discover Atlantis and have superhuman abilities such as teleportation and becoming invisible?
Dimosthenis Karamparpas the voice actor for Kassandra is Greek too if I remember correctly
But I actually thought Alexios has better voice acting. Kassandra sounds like a boring robot.
@@nimkal thats how greeks sound tho
Definitely starting with Alexios tomorrow. Thanks for the vid, helped.
Wrong choice XD
HeyIamNick spartan > whining kassandra...
@@DagAmaRamaGaming Kassandra is spartan you genius...
@@DagAmaRamaGaming Kassandra's voice actress is doing way better job than Alexios' seriously I'm not a feminist or whatever...but y'all just whiney lil boys who don't wanna play as a woman...and that's okay if you don't wanna play as a woman that's fine it's your choice, your opinion, but there's no denial that her voice acting is far superior and funny enough she's also the CANON character!
HeyIamNick by assassins creed they have botched quite a bit of its legacy. But it’s new style is great but they should’ve been realistic as that place and time had no female Spartans it’s illogical and I’m not afraid to play a female I’ve been playing Lara Croft since i was younger.
Alexios is physically gorgeous. I wouldn't mind staring at him for hundreds of hours.
Well i mean that's not impossible seeing as if you pick him at the start, you stare mostly at his backside the whole game, consider it as a bonus.
Gae
I need Kassandra in Alexios's clothing
Kassandra is beauty & grace in one. Alexios is cool but I am going with Kassy just for those braids 😍😋
Kassandra consistently looks the most natural in all the cinematic sequences I’ve seen. Alexios is awkward in comparison, to me, thus far.
Team Kassandra since her voice acting is way better, just as the animation for her facial expressions
Also, she sounds soo sassy, I like it❤️❤️❤️
Wrong
Fun fact: alexios dosent exist in the ac oddessey book. Only kassandra is canon in that story.
I think it's his skinny as face, where as Kassandra's is rounder and looks more natural.
Kassandra's facial animations seem weird to me but her voice actor is so much better than Alexios's
Fuuuuuck
Not to men, they both have on and off moments
Gtl Ridge
Overall Kassandra just sounds like she could be an actual person.
Sure she’s not an *incredible* voice actor, but Alexios is too cartoony in my opinion
@@ArcticSounds I'd have to disagree. Alexios seems to have more emotion in his voice especially when pheobie dies. Kassandra not so much
J Sand
Jesus Christ.
Just walking around spoiling the game are you?
@@ArcticSounds figured everyone would have got that far it happens at around a low to middle level lmao. Speed up I guess
It all comes down to 2:49 vs 5:25
I love the humming at the beginning
Alexios most handsome assassin 👌
That would be Edward kenway. Not Alexios.
Mohib Ali That would be Ezio Auditore. Not Edward
Exactly
I actually find every Assassin in the AC series good looking.
Alexios "With what money?" I die lol
I think kassandra has much more character and personality even though they have the same lines it’s wonders what voice acting can do to change the whole entire vibe of a game
it feels that way because her voice is more emotional but if we are looking at it realistically alexios has better voice acting because he has a less emotional voice, which is more realistic for a mercenary
@ZernoHD i dont care too you absolute moron. i also play kassandra
Kassandra= Wonder Women
Alexios= Hardened mercenary who gives no shits.
Kassandra’s face is so beautiful
There was Never a Lady Mercenary or a Greek lady warrior
I highly doubt that just on the basis of simple probability. Are you seriously telling me that in the long period of Ancient Greece no woman ever picked up a sword? Throughout the entirety of human history there were always people not caring about established social norms.
@@MatiZ815 yes
Kassandra became my favourite female character by far
Screw all the simps, Alexios has good voice acting too and is superior in the role.
Exactly
everyone says kassandra so i picked alexio and i like it. kassandra makes a badass villain but i will probably play it twice maybe idk yet
I wonder if i could make Kassandra from this game in Soul Calibur 6, i'm going to need both Kassandra's in October....
I like alexios he feels like he is a mercenary and is scarred by the incident on the mountain and kassadra i like as demois she feels like she is being manipulated by the cult and alexios as demois he just feels pure evil..
I feel both can be canon no matter what even the endings later I will say how
I wish they had different stories and their stories became same later in the game
Tbh I could see Kassandra being a stud lesbian
That's exactly how I'm playing her 😂 I love her. I like both characters but I feel like Kassandra's voice works better for the story. The sarcasm and flirting especially. I feel like Alexios just sounds cheesy
I like how sassy and funny Alexios could be but I also like how terrifying He is when He is serious. I cant imagine my self playing the legacy of the first blade DLC as Kasandra.
I feel like this game was made to be played as Kassandra.
It was.
Am I the only one who loves them both?!
I wish I could have a playthrough with Kassandra as the Mithios and Deimos. The VA of Alexios feels so inauthentic.
Just recently started playing with Kass and she's killing it, I'm loving it more and more! 😍
The weird part is why do we have to use a debug menu to change characters?
Now seeing Kassandras performance for the 1st time. Not seeing anything that screams "better". They both do well to me.
What's the music at the beginning?
I have no idea who to choose
Same😭😭😭😭
@@user-uv9zr8qs2c went with kassandra, no regrets
If you want the feel of playing a fearless and scary warrior that actually feels like your enemies are scared to fight you, play Alexios. If you want a badass female character that has a feel of Wonder Woman like then play Kassandra.
Doesn't matter all missions all side quests will be the exact same the only difference being Deimos's gender, and who the younger/older sibling is.
I played alexios norq I starrt as kassandra I think ya should choose alexios
Right? If you want to hear bad voice acting, then play Ride to Hell Retribution
OH DEAR! I haven't gotten to this game yet (will do after Origins) and as a girl, I would naturally pick Kass... BUT DANG, I'M ATTRACTED TO ALEXIOS!!!
Alexios humming....woah..
I like Kassandra. I can't wait to get this game!
Does anyone else get a sort of Edward kenway vibe from alexios dialogue?
No.. just you mate
No way lol, you must be crazy
Hell no
Damn...4 playthroughs at minumum i need to experience beauty of Alexios and Cassandra.
I picked Alexios. He looks like a real warrior. Kassandra is not my type of character.

@@geraltofrivia8081 Well that's my lifestyle. Some people are not be able to deal with that honesty . I'm glad you like it

What’s wrong with that? I love that word.
It's historically accurate. Ever heard Greek people talking to each other?
plz anyone give me the song name at the beginning
i choose alexios cause sometimes he’s expressions soo sassy and i love that
I'm not sure why, but Kassandra seems to fit the role of the main character a bit better than Alexios.
@@nimkal I feel the total opposite
Is there anyone who picked Alexios because of historical accuracy? Female mercenary is such a rarity in ancient Greece, I still don't understand why there were so many female bandits and pirates in Odyssey
My headcanon is that Assassin's Creed takes place in an alternate history that is less patriarchal than ours.
I picked kassan because she is hot, and she is also the cannon choice. Also every ac game has a male protagonist anyway,so i didn't mind switching it up
Liberation and Syndicate had female characters
The first scene is more appropriate for Alexios. Like really who would call a female a "sh*t-face" and immediately punch her in the face. And Alexios's reaction is just hilarious 0:14 - He is like "WTF?!"
I agree....calling a female shitface and punching straightway is absurd
Haha I hope that's a joke 😂😂
you cant be serious lmao. look at the time period... I mean.. humanity itself.. some crackhead is doing it to another female crackhead RIGHT now..
Rydłan remember this games take solace before modern times.
Im honestly in love with Alexios
I prefer Alexios over Kassandra because Kassandra fits that OTHER role way better (hint hint spoilers) and all Spartans I knew were men soooooooooo.....
How does a female fit the role of being Deimos “the all powerful demigod”
Alexios for the win.
After playing the game with both characters Kassandra Fits Deimos way better , I enjoyed playing as both but in terms of payoff Play as Alexios to enjoy kassandra as deimos
So you prefer to play Alexios because Kassandra is better in both roles? I like Alexios as Deimos, very angry and kind of dumb, it suits him, Kassandra makes a lot more sense as a protagonist.
great video man, thanks. I'll be going with alexios, seems to fit the setting and role better
