Idk why but I always bawl like a baby watching peoples birth stories. Always so touching.
We just had baby boy #2 on June 24 and we named him Jack as well 💙 congratulations to you, Jacob, and Peter!!
Awww congrats!
This story gives me hope for hopefully having a good second birth! My first was similar to yours. June 2020, went in at 1am, no sleep. I can only pray that when I have my second that it can go similarily to yours!
Those baby noises 🥰🥰🥰 congratulations! I’m sorry but if you’re testing laboring moms and they’re confirmed negative. You shouldn’t have to mask. So sorry you had to. Plus the nurses have access to high quality N95s to keep them safe. I’m a respiratory therapist and intubate people with Covid all the time and I just wear an N95 and have been fine 🤷🏻♀️
This pp experience has been so different than with my first. I’m currently 2mos pp & I basically feel back to “normal.” Idk. I didn’t realize until this time around how truly affected I was the first time. Like I think the adjustment of loving another being so intensely was a lot for me to handle. This time, I love my new little baby, but I’m not like burdened by it or scared or anything. It’s hard to explain, but I just feel a lot lighter this time & like I’m really able to just enjoy him without all of these really intense feelings. Also, breastfeeding has been a breeze this time whereas last time I didn’t feel even a little confident until 4mos & I didn’t feel totally confident in my supply & in our breastfeeding routine until around 6mos.
Yay! Been waiting for this video 😍 congratulations to the whole family
Congrats! Glad to hear that overall everything went well and you both are doing great 🙌🏼🥰
Great birth story!! Congrats! His little noises were so cute! Newborns are so cute & snuggly 🥰
I so enjoyed hearing your birthing story of Baby Jack! I was following you back when you had Peter. You are a great mom! Give yourself some Grace and you will do well!! I’m going to check out your budget videos again! I’m almost debt free from busting my butt for nearly 3 years. God Bless you and Jacob with your little boys! ❤️
Congrats! So happy for you and your family 💕💕
Wonderful! Congratulations!! ❤️🥰
I really enjoy watching your videos and listening to your story! Love this and love you
Congrats! He's adorable! I'm due in Jan. with my first and I'm so excited:)
Wow this was so wonderful!! I have a 10-month-old and am so excited for baby #2. I know that I will feel so much more confident this next time too.
Congratulations on the beautiful little addition!
My husband and I had our second kiddo in January 2021 and also named him Jack, love the name!! Congrats on your sweet boy! ❤️
Congratulations!! Glad all is well 😊
SO excited when I saw this vid come up! SO SO happy for your fam! Been following you since pre-Peter 🥹
Also wanted to add that I too had to wear a mask in June 2021, it was SO challenging!! There wasn’t much consistency at our hospital; I was basically 80% of the way through pushing without a mask on, and then another nurse came in…3 hours into pushing (😅) and was like “you need to put your mask on.“ I was so confused because no other doctors or nurses mentioned that when I was pushing… and I therefore I hadn’t had it on that entire time and I’m literally SO out of breath without even a mask on at that point!? Needless to stay , the mask was put back on and I just hoped for the best🤣
Congratulations!
Congratulations!!! 🥰
Congrats! 😊
I havent even watched yet but congrats!!! Ill be doing the same in two and a half weeks!
Congrats! I had my 3rd baby girl on April 30th and I only had to wear my mask during triage but I also took it off in my room. Baby girl had to go to the Nicu for not keeping her temperature then jaundice but I only had to wear it when going to visit her. Every labor experience and birth is so different. Didn’t even have time for an epidural this time around 😖 I’m glad you did 💕
Other than the scary parts, that’s the most positive birth story I’ve heard!! Thanks for sharing!!
I'm so happy breastfeeding got off to a better start for you this time! 💕 It gives me hope for my baby #2 later this summer.
Love hearing birth stories, thanks for sharing! I'm so glad your 2nd baby had a better breastfeeding experience, I was too confident and the latch was terrible and I didn't find out for awhile. Thankful for that nipple balm the nurses gave me.
Breastfeeding is so hard! Definitely not as natural as it may seem.
The same thing happened to me in regards to the epidural. 3 hours after it was administered I woke up in extreme pain, because it stopped working on my entire right side and was weakening on my left. After TWO hours they finally readministered the epidural while I was having full blown contractions ~30 seconds apart (all the while I had SPD, so the pain was even more intense). I was so scared I would move/jolt while they were administering it because of a contraction, but luckily it worked out that second time. 😅
Congrats!
My c-section is also on 38w3d (I'm currently 34w1d)..
We had a 2020 boy right after Peter and I’ll be induced tomorrow with our little girl if I don’t go into labor today! I’ve followed you through both pregnancies. Our entire motherhood journeys have been so similar!
Same here! I had a boy in October 2020 and was also induced and had a girl 7/6! When did you end up having your little girl?
Glad everything worked out!! I went into labor at 38 weeks with my second too! 6 hours total. The epidural NEVER worked and before they could have someone fix it, I went from a 5 to a 10 (in 5 minutes!) and had to give birth naturally. Glad that didn’t happen to you!!
That's crazy!
Congrats 🎉
I’m so thankful I didn’t have to wear a mask for birth in NC. I was thankful to not be allowed to have visitors though. Congratulations! He is beautiful
My epidural totally stopped working at the end too and it was miserable
🙏🏻🎉💐Congratulations! Give God the Glory! Such a blessing! 🙏🏻❤️
My aunt works in L&D in Portland I wonder if she was one of your nurses! That would be so cool. Also, my son was born june 11 2020, so not long after Peter. I actually found you on CZcams a few months before that so I feel like I’ve known you forever! Anyway you are so lucky that your nurse advocated for you and made sure you got a working epidural. My epidural didn’t work even a little when I had my son and nobody would believe me and they refused to redo it so I felt everythingggg and was not prepared for that. AND had a 9lb baby. Anywho my point is I’m glad your nurse advocated for you- that’s how it should be. It’s so reassuring to hear that you had such a better experience the second time around, I’m honestly so scared to have a second. Congratulations!
My son's due date was 6-11-20 but he was born on 6-3. And my epidural only worked for a short time unfortunately. I know exactly what you mean!!
I live in Miami and my hospital also has a lot of restrictions only allowing only for two people to visit.
Congrats
I'm almost 37 weeks with baby boy#2. Been having more frequent contractions last couple days and wondering if he may come early. Our first didn't come until induced at 41 weeks so we'll see! Enjoyed hearing your birth story!
So exciting!!
16 wks?!! That’s more than me! Lol! That’s awesome! California needs to step up their game! Honestly, the US does. I’m lucky that my bf & I work from home. I can’t imagine having to send my baby into daycare at 3 mos. That’s terrifying to me.
I was 4 cm for a month before my sons birth. At my last appointment I was at five & had a contraction during appointment. He sent me up to labor & delivery. I had to be induced. Son arrived in two hours.
awesome
16 weeks of parental leave for dad !!! That’s insane for the US. Amazing ❤ What kind of work does he do?
The thought of you crying on your side during labor is so heartbreaking! I can only imagine how scared & hopeless you must have felt. Contractions are AWFUL. It’s so scary knowing that they will just continue to come & if you don’t have meds, you just have to deal with it. I remember waiting for my epidural & experiencing really painful contractions (I was at an 8/9) & the nurses were like “you’re doing great! You’re doing it!” & even during a contraction (even though we supposedly can’t speak, lol), I muttered “I don’t have a choice” 😂 That’s how I truly felt. Like I didn’t want to be “doing a good job,” none of that really helped my morale. The only thing I wanted was to get an epidural. Anyways, it was funny. The nurse was like “what did she say? She doesn’t have a choice?” & they all laughed. I was trying to be funny, but I also was being totally serious. It’s like yeah, anyone can get through a contraction, we don’t have a choice. It happens & as long as we stay alive, we’ve gotten through it. I mean, I think I did handle them well. But again, I HAD to. Like I had no choice. Obviously I didn’t want to make the situation more painful, so I did everything in my power to make them as easy to bear as possible. Anyways, just wanted to validate your feelings in that moment. Labor can be really scary.
Congratulations ! Thank you for sharing your story 😊 I was curious to know when your 1rst boy came (how many weeks of pregnancy) since for your second it seemed a little earlier.
Peter came 2 days early from his due date. 😊
I’m due end of august and will refuse to wear a mask 🥴
Do you have a link to where you got your baby carrier, that you're wearing? Im delivering next week... And there's just so any online it's overwhelming 😩 do you like yours so far?
Here's my affiliate link! I used it with my first son too and have enjoyed it. :) amzn.to/3NNglnE
i’m a FTM, for your first baby, you think i’ll be okay if the hospital is about 1 hour away?? i think as soon as my water breaks I’ll just head to hospital, just so im not stuck in traffic or anything. So nervous! Sounds like for first babies, you have hoursss until they will actually pop out
Don’t ever let them stop contractions without a doctor approval they did this to me and it was SO hard to get my daughter out I ended up popping blood vessels in my eyes from pushing it was awful I had no desire to push
I’m sorry that was your experience. His heart was decelerating and they needed a pause. It was fine for me.
Did you wind up having a baby shower at all? I just found your channel tonignt.
It’s a breath of fresh air when you see parents name their kids normal names these days haha
hahaha makes it easy for people to spell and pronounce. :)
They also stop contractions when they don’t have a doctor ready to deliver the baby.. it’s not right your body is doing what it’s meant to do..
They paused your labor and then broke your water to start them.. there was a reason your baby was coming.. I will never let them stop my contractions I will deliver right then and there if I had to
Wow, it is so crazy the rules you’ve had to follow with Covid. I had my boy in 2021 and we had no Covid rules! So sorry you had to wear a mask during labor.
In portland the rules lingered for a longgggg time. I still have to wear a mask to some doctors.
Too much ‘like’. Can’t listen to this
I also love hearing birth stories!! 🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing!!
Congratulations!
