If anyone here is concerned about tearing ...I repeat do not push just relax and breathe baby out. Your contractions will ease baby out with the reflex.
So true! Practice breathing the baby out. I’m now 4 weeks PP and I had no tears, because of that.
well said !
Thanks for the advice, I was so much worried about that
Lol. When you have an unmedicated birth your body naturally pushes. I literally couldn’t stop myself from pushing. I pushed once my son was crowning. The second push he came out.
I also had no tears
Adding another comment after thinking about your video: Matt should definitely do a video on how HE preped for your labor ! That would be so helpful for partners that want to help! How he prepared, what ressources he used, techniques, advices, how you communicated together around this major event in you lives... would LOVE to see that and it would be a must watch for my man 🙏💖💯
I was in labor with my first for 70 hours before requesting the epidural. I waited because of pride.
I waited because of this notion that I wasn't a real woman if I didn't suffer adequately. I wish I hadn't done that to myself or my baby. Once I got the epidural, I could relax and she came down to be born.
You decide what works for you, it's your birth.
The fact that you guys come from similar upbringings that are less than perfect is so relatable. I think we sometimes assume CZcamsrs have perfect lives and it's definitely not true. Thank so much for sharing your story with us!
I loved your birth video so much!! Cried so hard watching it! I just had my third baby (also no epidural) 5 months ago! I’ve delivered all my kiddos naturally and it is so freaking intense.
Your video represented the reality of natural childbirth so beautifully. It’s sooo empowering yet for sure the hardest thing ever! Sage is adorable and I’m so happy for y’all!
You’re a champ! I had to have c-section the first time and an emergency c-section the second time. Recovery is painful too. I’m glad and happy you all are doing well. Blessings.
I'm pregnant right now and I really loved your birth vlog and this story. I appreciate you posting it! You did incredible and Sage is beautiful.
I LOVED your birth video! such a strong woman! Welcome to the world baby sage!
sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account?
I was dumb lost the password. I love any tips you can offer me!
Hope you all are doing well and enjoying parenthood! I'm always excited when your vlogs are long!
FYI, taking meds is okay. Not having a “natural” birth is okay. Giving birth in and of itself is a miracle, blessing, and major accomplishment. However you see fit to do that, you’re okay.
120%! This is exactly what I talk about on my Instagram posts around birth. A healthy mama and baby is always the goal no matter how you need to get there.
She said that same thing at the beginning.
Ufortunately the message, that not having a ‘natural’ birth is okay and is just as special, gets subverted by the title of the video. Even if you don’t mean it that way, the title implies that natural and no medication is best. And speaking from personal experience that can be very upsetting or even harmful to new mothers who would love to go the natural route but for whom that is not an option.
@@ML-fx6ce I think it's a personal interpretation, I don't hear the title like that at all. It's more like an indication that the footage will probably be intense. I think every birth is special but of course you are allowed to be proud of yourself for giving birth without meds. I would also put it in the title if it was me.🤓 I gave birth with an epidural and don't understand why I would be offended, don't understand why people always need to conpare themselves to others. Very happy for Nikole and she can be damn proud.😎 (as we all can be)
Lots of my medical friends joke about it being legit a conspiracy these kinds of no medicine birthing promotors and also the system is trying to prevent mothers from avhieving pain free labor. To the point they try to delay your epidural or take their time and then point blank can and often do refuse it if you are too far progressed. Also on an interesting note having had an epidural twice, once at about 4cm and second time before starting an induction(which not many ppl know can be done) It is painless and actually dialates women very fast in my experience.
I love this so much nikole! I tried so hard to watch this video but I kept getting distracted watching sage because she’s the literal cutest baby ever. She’s just so mesmerized by the world and I love it!!! 💕💕💕
I’m so glad you shared this and your birth vlog! I know it’s so personal but it’s also so helpful to other women! I truly enjoyed your videos and positive experience!
This is such a beautiful and motivational birth story! You are an incredible superwoman and I applaud Matt for his calm demeanor and support! Only positive wishes for you’re little family! 💕
The tearing part is the thing that scares me the most- would loooove more info on how to prevent this
I cannot recommend perineal stretching enough!!
It is really good to do all the preparations, but also I want to say that in the moment you tear, you cant care less about that. My midwife said that in that moment you skin in that area is paper thin due to babies head pushing against it. Its not like "normal" skin gets torn. Do not work yourself up on that thought.
The most important thing is listen to your body. Your body will do all the work. I say all this to say that there's no need to push. Well trained midwives would tell you this. Being on all fours helps also.
I just had my baby about a month ago without any medication as well. A lot of the comments about labor that you said are so true. I was 6cm when I got to the hospital. We left the house at 4 something. Was at the hospital like at 4:40am had to fill out all the paperwork in pain then at 5:30am I was technically admitted. Then while in the room I was pushing with every contraction. He was born at 6:12am but he came at 35w4days so the NICU nurses took him to check him. For me everything happened so quickly.
Thanks for explaining the last name! Makes a lot of sense and didn’t want to be rude and ask. I love that you both agreed. 🥰
Loved this! I’m due in July and you have no idea how helpful your videos have been! Thank you for sharing your journey 💕
I had a unmedicated birth with my first as well! And am 36s weeks pregnant with my second and I will definitely be doing the same with this one! Totally agree with how much the pain is 💯 gone as soon as you birth them! So crazy!!
I also LOVED your birth story...thank you for being real and raw and not sugarcoating anything! ❤️
I'm so happy to hear that! I've been blown away and so touched by such an incredible response🤍
I wanted a natural birth SO badly. I had preeclampsia and had to be induced at 35 weeks. It was not ideal, but I made it as long as I could without the epidural. I used hypnobirth which helped so much. I ended up needing a c-section because of my blood pressure, but I hope to have a natural birth next time!! I love the way you share Sage with us. She's beautiful!
Well I have a question
Is an operation pike ceserean safe for preg mother, if she has heavy bp
Please can you do a video about perineal stretching? I'm at 25 weeks and that's something I'm really worried about with the birth, thank you for putting so much of your birth experience on CZcams, your birth vlog was absolutely gorgeous! When she was nursing at the end I was crying watching 🥰
Sage is an angel. Mom, you are the real deal.
I loved your birth vlog!!💕 I’m pregnant rn it helped so much seeing a real person you did amazing!
Thank you for sharing ❤️ Took me right back to my own experience 7 months ago. I had a similar plan of labouring as much as possible at home and then go to the hospital. When I did get there I was in excruciating pain...turns out we had cut it really close and I was already 10cm and ready to push!! Haha we had no idea how close our baby was to being born in the car!
I don't plan on having babies for a few years, but even so your story has been helping me so much! I definitely will be referencing this in the future! Thank you again for sharing!
I just had my first son 2 weeks ago. I'm currently watching this while nursing my son. I also didn't have an epidural. I pushed for 15 minutes
That’s awesome!!!
How long was your labor?
@@roar44879 about 12 hours
So amazing!! I watched the birth video also. That is a short time! I pushed for 3.5 hours. You did great girl!! Congrats to both of you.
Your birth vlog is one of my faves to watch. I think I've watched it like 6 times. I'm 25 weeks and I'll probably watch it at least 6 more times.
Thank you for sharing 💜. I would love if you'd consider doing a video dedicated to pre-conception planning and preparing your mind, body, soul for conception. Many blessings 💜.
I love the thoughts around the last name. You guys are a beautiful couple and what a lovely family.
Since you are not married I found it completely normal that Sage has your last name, you gave birth to her after all. Crazy that people have such antiquated views of passing on the guy's name. Names don't need to be passed on, it's what you do while u are here that matters.💖 I laughed when Matt says "we are not kings" haha exactly! In France people say you should have a boy and girl, "the king's choice", also completely outdated!
I'm not married but giving my baby my partner's surname not because of tradition but just because it sounds better and I get on with his family more than my own. XD
It’s also easier to trace back heritage with mothers last name
Sage is going to have a connection with you because you’re her father and you never know how it may impact her to see her friends have their father’s names and she doesn’t. These things can seem small, but they do impact a child’s sense of identity along the way. A double last name is extremely common for many Latinos and would have avoided this risk. Also if you guys aren’t married the child carrying the father’s last name can help guarantee certain rights for him in regards to custody and visitation if there were ever a split (depending on the state). Regardless, beautiful birth story. Wishing you guys the best.
Watching this at 41 weeks and really hoping he comes soon !!!!
Not many women do all natural like you did! I have three kids snd all were natural just like you and after the first one i changed my mind snd said maybe open to drugs but three kids down i had all natural and like you said as soon as the baby is out all pain is forgotten! Congratulations mama!!!! And i love her name!
Loved both of your birth vlogs. Currently 28 weeks with my first (rainbow baby) and your videos have been extremely helpful and informative to me. Been following you for years ❤
Congrats!! So happy for you ❤️
The birth center I'm going to doesn't have the option of epidural and I've been scared of going without it, so this video is VERY reassuring! Thank you!!
You said you sort of have amnesia about the pain level...I did all 3 of my births with no meds but around 7 months of my 2nd and 3rd pregnancy I started to remember the pain (it will all come back to you)...I loved being pregnant and going thru the birthing process! Congrats to you all!
Oh no! 😆thanks for the heads up
Beautiful story, took me back to my daughters’ birth stories and made me shed a tear 💜♥️
I love Matt’s explanation of Sage’s head starting to come out 😂
Thanks for the great content and long video! I enjoyed watching/listening to this during my cardio! 🙌🏻
Congratulations again on your beautiful family 💕
I laughed so hard at his description.
I’m dying at the part where Matt said sometimes it sounded like a murder 😂 only bc I know he was so scared. Every birth story sure is different. Congrats again!! You did it!!
I loved your birth story! Thank you for this video Nikole 💕 Sage is the cutest 😍
Loved this video! As a soon to be mama, this was so helpful.

Hi,I watched you 1st giving birth video, you are super women,so brave...and now this one.I think you two Matt and yourself are just so real.I am sure any women, that is pregnant would benefit watching both. You are both such great parents to sweet Sage,so calm and seem so experienced...I do enjoy when you post blogs/videos with Sage in them.I love babies, and since I saw her being born,I very much want to see her grown and develop from infant to baby and so on...and of course her cute outfits. Please Don't forget to include big sis Cashew in the videos,I love dogs as well..
You have a beautiful,beautiful family..much love..SK💗
I am so early. I love this 🌷 Thank you for sharing and congratulations!!!
Thank you so much for your birth video! So moving and encouraging. We are due in May 2022.
You guys rock. Such a great dynamic between the two of you :-) Blessings onward!
Loved hearing your birth story! Thank you for sharing
Ditto! Rainbow baby due in May!
It is soo true that when a woman who has been coping with active labor gets to that point of ok can't handle any more of this it is usually because birth is imminent and pain is not going to get any harder
So true. I was demanding an epidural although they told me it was too late for one at that point, and afterwards I wished I hadn’t done that because it was out if the fear that it was going to get even worse, but it didn’t. That was the worst if it and my baby was born only moments later.
You are a breath of fresh air 🙏 sending all the love to you and your baby xoxox
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful family! 💕😊
thank you for sharing, happy family 🙏
OMG!! The baby just look like you! Mommy the best ❤️
I love love the baby’s room , cute mama and baby ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for sharing your experience :) I am 7 months pregnant and this video is really helpful.
a 45 minute video? heck yea!!! Grabbing a snack while watching this!!
That is exactly what I thought! I made my favourite tea! I could watch wayy more Matt and Nikole!
@@TheTaits08 OOO what tea are you drinking? I cant drink anything caffeinated at night!
@@SamElle this is an herbal tea, no caffeine. It's pomegranate and raspberry by Twinings.
I just went through my lunch when watching it :)
Thank you so so much for this video. I’ll be tuning in to your videos ❤️ i am due this September 2021 and i am definitely leaning on to unmedicated birth.
Love sage ❤️❤️
She looks like both of u 👶👶
Lovely video. Brought back so many lovely memories for me. I've given birth the same as you and also planned c section (breech baby) and both were amazing in their own ways. I loved each way for different reasons. Congratulations on your gorgeous family :-)
What a beautiful family!
Thank you so much for sharing your birth story and Sage birth story! ❤️ It’s really interesting and helpful to watch, and wow, it sounds intense 😳😅 Knowledge is definitely power 💪 As we’re trying to conceive right know, I feel this helps so so much picturing what might come ! You did amazing 😘😘
Thank you for the kind words and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I love hearing how much it's been helping future Mamas🥰
Okay I’m new here, love this but also omg your skin is flawless. What face products do you use?!
Where can I find the video you watched about breathing techniques? (How to push a baby out?)
I’d like to know too! Was trying to find it on the blog post
I adored the birth video. You were an absolute rockstar! It was beautiful 💕💕💕 I used hypnobabies and spinning babies too with my last son. We wanted a home birth, but it’s illegal in my state, so we opted for a natural birth center midwife ran.
Congratulations again!! Loved this video by the way. Yes you do forget the minute you give birth and it comes flooding back when you go into labour for the second birth. LOL!!
Oh goodness🤣I can imagine!
You did so great! I’m a brand new mom and will be due April! Can you please link/attach the breathing techniques video your husband had you watch and the exercises please. That would be so helpful 🙏🏻
Can you tell us more about having a midwife and doula? Thank you for sharing your experience 😊
I was at fresh market about 3-4 hours before my baby was born 😆. It’s good to walk around and keep busy haha!
You husband is hilarious 😂 I like his personality.. he’s a good story teller. Thank you for sharing your experience!!
You're my heros! x I will come back to these videos when my time comes for sure :) Will you tell more about Hypno/your collaboration with doula/pregnency oils etc.? Greetings from UK xx
Thank you for sharing. Felt like i was there with you! Rooting you on from my couch lol
Thank you again for sharing! 💚💙❤
I don’t understand lying down on your back during labor either. I would see that in movies but I had to pace back and forth during a contraction, and when I couldn’t such as in the elevator at the hospital, I would squat. I did whatever came naturally. And I also remember so clearly that sensation you talked about when your body takes over and your entire body naturally pushes.
The urge to push happens no matter what position you are in really, natural or medicated. I know I surge felt the urge and felt it so strong and pushed baby out while on my back in happy baby pose lol
Her little hiccups are so cute!
You are incredible!!!
Sage's hiccups at the start of the video! So cute
I watch your natural birth video all the time to prepare for labor, because friends who've gotten the epidural tell me I won't be able to handle going natural. Trying to believe in myself!
Did you do it??
You guys are awesome!❤️
Thank you!🥰
This was the sweetest video ever.
Third! Hahaha hugs and kisses from Tijuana Mexico 🇲🇽 thanks for all the inspiration you give me with your videos ☺️💖🙌🏻
Watching this on Inauguration Day. JLo obv’s watches and made Chanel copy your outfit vibes 😂
Love this videos, how Matt remembers, beautiful little family ❤️❤️
I had an epidural and it wore off so the pain returned in full force. Currently 5 months pregnant with number 2 and will do things very differently this time.
Hi, can you please share the link to the spinning baby exercises that you mentioned
Just watched the birth video, you did amazing! I had two natural birth as well and I am pregnant with my third and more anxious as I have ever been because I know what pain is coming :( I tell myself that I did it without medication before ... idk why I am scared lol. You mentioned that you forgot all the pain once you had youre little girl on you... cant agree ... It took me weeks to get over that "trauma" lol ... however can we get a nursery tour, if you dont have it filmed yet? :)) So beautiful! Congrats on your baby girl!!
Your delivery is so open and engaging. I remember watching your labor/birth vlog. (Just realized I did a pun with "your delivery" lol. I meant you speak really well extemporaneous!
I felt so sorry for you in so much pain giving birth, but it was mesmerizing!!
Your daughter is adorable.
Having never given birth, your vlog was extremely interesting to me! Thank you and congratulations!
What about your placenta etc? Like the post birth of the baby etc??
What’s the pushing preparation video please 🙏🏻
I love your birth video! Could you share the video of how to push?
It’s linked in my blogpost on how to have a natural birth
Congrats! 💕 I was always wondering if Matt has any hungarian roots. He’s last name is very common here. Also I spotted a hungarian paprika product in your fridge once lol
Hey just a quick advise, I'm not sure you're supposed to put the baby to sit until a certain age (not sure at what month it's ok). Maybe you can check it because the way you put her sit on your leg doesn't seem right. Stay healthy!
Usually once they have full control of neck which for my babies was 3 months
So what you are not supposed to do is put them in the sitting position unsupported to try and make them sit-they are supposed to do that on their own when they are ready. Holding them in a sitting position (I often did that to burp my babies more effectively) is fine.
Omg I thought I was the only one who has been noticing her head bop back n forth. Yeh she might seem fine but she’s an infant 😳 y’all have to be careful...
Who else literally feels like CZcams is their best friend during Covid ? 😆😆😆
Really you are such a stronge woman 👍
I love how you made granola while in labor 😂 I aspire to want to cook during labor
You are amazing!! Congratulations!! I'm due in March so taking notes..! Beijinhos de Portugal
Congrats mama!!
I remember my babies often staying calmer with daddy on the lap because they don't smell milk there:)
my gorgeous daughter doesn't share our last name but she is ours forever !she does ask when we are adding our last name to hers
I’m currently 21 weeks and hoping to have an unmedicated birth! Can you link the video about pushing out a baby? Also I love the quote about your body not putting you through more pain than you can handle
Found the video!
Where did you find the video?
