- New Romantic Pioneers perform The Anvil at a showcase gig in Hoxton Bar and Grill for the launch of their 4th album "Hearts And Knives".
The Anvil was the title track of their 1982 album. Named after a famous gay nightclub in NYC.
Here the band play the song fully live for the first time ever. No sequencers, no tapes just a storming performance.

For a man who had so many years of heroine problems, my goodness. When Steve came back in 2013 he did it so well. This performance is on FIRE! And Hearts & Knives is such an incredible album. i am always SO glad for Steve that he had a two year moment where he was being creative again. It would have been so awful, had he died with no new glory. I think it was so important to him to regain his place xxxxxx The world is without the KING of New Romanticism unfortunately :-(
So sad he's gone - but he did go out on a high.Never got a chance to see them live - and now it's too late - we think our heroes are immortal but there not.
Breaks my heart, I remember that sad day, I'm about to holiday to where he passed. Miss him so much.

Steve had an awesome life [from what I've learned], and left a superb back catalogue both in music and creativity. BGeorg original autobiography was a hoot to read, telling the reader all about the club and what they all got up to. RIP Steve, and I hope you're up there jamming and dancing with the rest of them. peace x

Truly impressive. Considering what he's been through all these years, it's just amazing to see Steve Strange and the band alive and kicking. Of all the comebacks out there, Visage's is undoubtedly the biggest surprise (and a very pleasant one).
