Pioneers of the New Romantic movement, the synth pop group Visage emerged in 1978 from the London club Blitz, a neo-glam nightspot which stood in stark contrast to the prevailing punk mentality of the moment.
2013 sees Visage return with line up of Steve Strange and Steve Barnacle with new members Robin Simon (ex Ultravox Guitarist) and Lauren Duvall (on vocals).

Decades pass, new worlds are born, and still Visage's 'Fade To Grey' sounds as futuristic as it did back in 1980. With a new version about to feature in the Worldwide "Make Up Forever" ad campaign, this classic slice of avant-electronic pop is sent to worm it's way into the musical consciousness of yet another generation.
No one could surpass Steve Strange's original vocal, but Rupaul's Drag Race winner 2019, the irrepressible Violet Chachki, bring's a confident new froideur to the song, backed with an understated but assured backing from on the button French producer Lecomte de Brégeot.

I wish I went to see visage when he was alive loved this song since I was 9 years old in 1980.❤
Always been a fan since the start and had the pleasure of watching him make the video to Pleasure Boys (At the old West Malling Airbase (as was) though didn't see the bit he filmed at the Harrietsham Halfway Bikers Cafe. Chatted to him briefly on the catering bus when he came in and sat opposite me, which was amazing. A sad loss R.I.P. Steve and thanks for the music

Sadly Steve died in Egypt and his body flown home he was buried about 6 yrs ago or more the drugs finally killed him his heart gave in……RIP Steve
Steve had an awesome life [from what I've learned], and left a superb back catalogue both in music and creativity. BGeorg original autobiography was a hoot to read, telling the reader all about the club and what they all got up to. RIP Steve, and I hope you're up there jamming and dancing with the rest of them. peace x
