How do you disengage and reingage? I'm not sure I know what you are referring to.
For the controller setup I use, I believe it is R1. Basically it is selecting the target. When the target has the white circle around it you are locked onto it. When you are locked on, your aimer follows the target, but if you unlock it, then the aimer stops tracking them and you can get a better feel for which direction they are moving and how fast
If you have torps flip to them and then lock them, even though they'll be out of range it will show you direction and give you an idea of speed. (Flamu)
On the Xbox using controller setting 4 clicking the left thumb stick will deselect the target. Right bumper will cycle thru targets near your aim point.

I use Yamamoto with this ship. Inspirations William Tennant and Norman Scott. Traits Burn it down, Igniter, Fortified and Fixated. The damage reduction from Tennant and Fortified I feel like makes this ship feel a bit tougher. The extra precision keeps those %20 HE shells burning ships. This works well for me maybe this will play well for someone else. This ship , benson/ Jarvis and Atlanta are my favorites. Thanks for the content Tbull

Thanks man. I have all the captains so far. With the polish captain being the exception. I really enjoy the game so I like to spend my evenings sailing the virtual seas. I am excited for the German line. I have almost all the ships currently unlocked.

I wish I could get into games where there was actual teamwork involved rather than ever going out, dying then bitching at you when your the last one alive and they try and tell you what your doing wrong.... thanks for sharing the video and tips. Greatly appreciated

Disengaging the target lock to judge speed, thanks for the tip. Watching the waves from the bow shock helps a lot too.
Keeping an eye on the smoke from their smokestacks is a good way as well, unless you are in the process of burning him to the ground 😂
Ha didn’t know battle ships could set a smoke screen like that.

I'm not always eager to give away my own tactics either! 😂 But a better skilled player base makes for a more fun game, so any little bit I can do to help that and I'm happy.
Never played on PC, just was part of the Alpha test about six months ago
Nice idea about checking target speed. I've one shotted dd's with King George V. Only BB probably that can do that.
Nice! I just unlocked that ship. Yeah they can one shot the DDs if they have HE loaded, but I was just talking about how each class has another class they are responsible for (destroyers kill battleships, cruisers kill destroyers, battleships kill cruisers)
The medium caliber Japanese secondaries fire AP, they are pretty worthless except for a point blank broadside cruiser.
Omg I did not know about the target lock 😕 being more accurate I thought it was similar to the auto aim feature in wot. Lol
It makes a huge difference, so if you are using the engage/disengage trick to test their heading and speed, be sure to re-engage!

Most of the damage from this ship is generally going to come from the guns, but being able to use the torpedoes well will give you a valuable tool to add to your arsenal

They are both really good, I think the Japanese line is better though
This depends. One of the problems in the game presently is a lack of high tier 6" gun cruisers. These are best dealing with destroyers. Cruisers with 8" guns have difficulties dealing with destroyers because of slow reload (which reflects reality in WW2). However, the US 8" gun cruisers have access to the super heavy AP shells, which are very effective on other cruisers and can be surprisingly effective on battleships at both close range (under 6K) and against deck armor with plunging fire. IJN cruisers have, of course, torpedoes (the Type 93), whose virtues should be obvious. IJN cruisers tend to have better belt armor, but lack turret armor (1"). US cruisers have less consistent belt coverage, but far better turret armor (2.5" up to 8" on Baltimore). What it'll come down to is your playstyle. Like torpedoes? Then the Japanese line is the obvious choice. Prefer gunplay? Then the US line has some significant advantages.
Man I can’t connect on Xbox I keep getting dns lookup failed. Anyone else getting this? I tried everything. I just put in a ticket.
I know they did some sort of stability update for Xbox today, maybe they are still tinkering with it. PS4 is running fine today
had a 120k Game today in the Aoba but threw it away at the end (3vs1) because i ran aground, my highest damage game until now :) sank a full health new mexico with 4 torps and 2 fires ^.^
