You really should make a calendar so beautiful there I enjoy going fishing we with you those drone shots were amazing stay safe my friends
The high point of this video selection has to be the drone flight of the natural beauty and scale in your fishing area Matt! While the sunset was very pleasing, the waters relatively calm, the fishing being fishing and not catching, the vastness of the waters you fish truly was evident as the drone turned to return to its mothership...
A hard, yet rewarding job with a view. Keeping a tradition alive, helping feed the masses. I appreciate and salute you.
Amazing shots Matt, a really beautiful part of the world. Always love watching you guys fish. Thanks again for letting us come along with yas. 🐟👍🌄
We Are VEry Lucky to watch you guy's fishing and you show us the Beautiful Country Most of Us Wouldn't have the opportunity to SEE! THANK YOU💞💞
Thank you, EIS Alaska. The aerial shots were remarkable, and the sunset was astounding. You guys are very good at this whole you tube thing. God bless you and merry Christmas.

Way to go Matt! Fisherman and cinematographer!
I’m envious that you get to spend time with your sons. In other words, you have a wonderful family unit including your lovely wife. Great drone shots. Tight lines….
Thank you so much! We feel truly blessed.
Yes I wish they had skate free tight lines lol
Matt, The intro was stunning drone work. You two cease to amaze me. You work as one together. I really liked when dad patted the octopus on the head before throwing him back in. Thank you for taking me along again and I hope the fishing picks up.
Tight lines and Merry Christmas in case this might be your last video before then. Tell mom and brother hello.

So beautiful and so pure ,you guys are so lucky
For sure!
Matt, thank you for showing us those extraordinary aerial shots of Alaska's Coastline I almost forgot this was suppose to be a fishing video and I suppose the extraordinary differences between the scenes of your coastline and what I am use to the South Pacific ocean's (Australian) the contrasts were very stark and enjoyable and an unbelievable introduction to your (I assume halibut haul. Thank you; in my humble opinion that was class.
A beautiful sunset. It almost looked like the water was on fire. Great job.
The beginning was a beautiful Christmas Card of memories. Thank you. The sunset at the end was awesome too. Thank you very much.

Great show, wishing you had more beefy halibut, but I guess like you stated, at least not a skate fest lol.
Enjoyed, thanks family
Thanks, Gold! Yeah glad to leave skate city!
@@EISAlaska I hear you...that one vid had you unhooking massive ones hey? Gotta be something you can eat in a skate...at least if I was on a deserted island, I'd be trying it haha
Have either of you read the book Halibut Schooner? I have read it many time as I dreamed of being a commercial fisherman when I was a kid. Watching your videos remind me of that book.
Really enjoy your videos. Hopefully will be making a trip home to Kodiak this spring. Would love a chance to meet.
Enjoy your content and work together.
Thank you hope all ok
All is well! Have a wonderful holiday season.
Marvelous aerial shots Matt thanks for sharing them. Len those levers you use when trawling the line in I take it the top one is for stopping the spool, the lower one for direction of rotation of the spool and the separate third one for the ships gear? I'll raise a glass to 100K subs this xmas!
I was hoping to catch a glimpse of that thing shoots out of the water. Gorgeous scenery, nevertheless.
Hi are you guy's fishing a new area this year ? Great video
Hey either cut up into pieces or leave hole pressercook for 10 15 minets then cut up octopus cook with garlic and pepper it wont be chewy just one way and depends on size
suggested video title: fishing for halibut and getting big octopus
Nice drone video, do you ever get nervous about losing the drone? I have to do a drone flight tomorrow to see about finding a way through the rough ice and see where the open water is so we can get out fishing.....I best not screw up cus there won't be any easy/safe walking out there to get the drone back. Thank you for what you do and the videos you post and for the fish in my freezer. :)
I get very nervous. When it loses connection especially. Lifting off isn’t bad but landing can be a bit challenging!
Yeah, especially when return to home doesn't work well when the boat is no longer in the "home" position marked when you took off or you have a mountian of rock between the drone and the boat that caused you to lose connection. I couldn't get my drone flight done today, heavy overcast and foggy. I have learned not to fly my drone in icing conditions...I got it back but it was a hard walk.
hi, great show again, are Skate a problem around there, u'v (lol) said no market fer em, is there any use for them or just a trash fish good for cat food ?
When your stripping the old bait from the hook, do you ever get into the trance that you throw the hook overboard and end up holding the old bait?😅
Hi interesting to see video from this great place. Where in Alaska is this
Kodiak Island!
Must say haven't warched for a bit - but l still find the new adaptions (to a lay person) seem not to flow so well. Seems cumbersome to me. So do take care and good fishing.
Next time you have to take an octopus with you. It tastes so good.
The secret to a tender octopus is, above all, the salt content of the cooking water.
Place a pot of water that can just comfortably hold the octopus. Add bay leaves and peppercorns. Salt heavily (30 grams of salt per liter [4oz/gal], which corresponds to sea water concentration).
Octopus is only allowed to simmer quietly. Once it boils, add the carefully cleaned octopus. Bring it to the boil again, then reduce the heat - the octopus should only be allowed to simmer quietly, not at all boil until bubbling, otherwise it will be tough. After 15 minutes, turn off the stove completely and let the octopus slowly cook in the decreasing heat. This takes time, so you should feel free to do this in the morning or even the day before.
Now you can use the meat cold in a salat. Or fried in a pan, or on the grill.
Good luck and good appetite.
I'm curious, how close to the boat have Orca come?
How long is your average set? You probably have answered this question before 😊.
wondering what the water temp is and the visibiliyt ( water )
Who does the music for the videos?
It’s royalty free music from the CZcams library.
I was wondering is their a market for Snails ?
has it ever happened that the c link comes loose by itself ??
I eat octopus, actually it’s yummy, don’t put to long on the fire it will made it rubbery ,
Gentlemen what was the biggest halibut you ever caught?
Squid and octopus are delicious however in my opinion the work to yummyness ratio isn’t worth the hassle.
Brine the Octopus before you cook it
I grill mine
Great time to finish up.
