You need to be SAIL AWARE!
How to sail: tie a bit of colored yarn on a mast guide wire. When the yarn is "peeled" straight back, you're headed directly into the wind. Let that be your visual guide.

Sailed since we were young(20's) form UK to Florida (live in Florida when not traveling) it was 80% boring the other 20% we were scared to death.
This was great! You’re never too old to learn to sail. I learned in my 30s (almost 20 years ago) and now live on a boat. Have had more arguments while sailing then not. We recently found a video of us in the BVIs 12 years ago, arguing on camera, was hilarious to watch. I can’t wait to watch your sailing travel videos in the Caribbean!

Ah ha ha love it! I’ve lived on a boat for close to 30 years and yeah, I remember that high side and low side thing. Thankfully we have a catamaran so no more high side & low side. 😂
If he gets his bareboat license you can rent sailboats in places like Belize and the BVI. You’ll love it. I did the BVI for 19 days and it was great. 54 islands and you’re never out of sight of land.

I bet Pepper will love it!! (There was a a boat docked at the St. Petersburg yacht club that had a cat on the boat! It was so awesome! I thought to myself, wow! To live in a boat (docked that is) with a pet would be pretty dang cool!)
I have a friend in New Zealand that travels on her sailboat with their Siamese cat! That’s my dream!

I really enjoy your videos. I too am a travel and adventure junkie (30 countries and counting so far) and really appreciate your love for adventure. I always go on my adventures alone (of course depending on where I am, I always have a local guide) as I just don't want anyone holding me back but, it is wonderful to see how you travel so well together and complement each other so well. If you are ready for your next adventure may I suggest ayahuasca in Peru? If you are interested, I strongly suggest a place called Dreamglade center. Perhaps my suggestion is a bit biased as I am a trained herbalist and I simply love Peru and the rainforest but, I assure you, that you will have an amazing experience. Ps...The best line in the video was... "You did a great job now, get out of my way". LOL.
Great ⛵️ sailing! I love how you two have fun at anything you do! Plus not taking yourself too seriously (uh unless it is “bear aware” lol) I was concerned about life jackets until I learned it was only about 6 feet of water....it sure looked deep though...I’m sure everyone is probably freaking out about it but duh...you are like adults and you can make your own decisions! Anyway, it looks like a fun time! Being on the water is relaxing! Me, I get sea sick though...so I cannot do ocean boating.
If you are serious. You need to talk to my nephew in Ft. Myers. Sailing Sava. They traveled for a year on a sail boat around the Bahamas and Key West. They also traveled for another year on a catamaran. Around the Bahamas.

I didn't hear any, "ARRRR!" You can't be a pirate without it. In all seriousness, this video reminded me of my first time sailing after taking my sailing class! We went from that to chartering in the Great Lakes, Sea of Cortez, US Virgin Islands, and the British Virgin Islands. Even owned our own 35' sailboat in the Great Lakes for about 5 years. Hoping to charter again in Mexico next spring. If you're interested in joining a small flotilla and taking those pirate skills up a notch, let me know! Fair winds and following seas!
