Hi Critters! I’m the Laudna cosplayer who asked a question. I met my DnD group because of the CR SDCC panel last year, and to be able to attend the panel this year with my DM, Caleb, and one of my party member, Adair, all of us in cosplay, and for us to all be able to ask questions to our storytelling role models… absolutely incredible. I will never forget the moment Caleb and I squeezed each other’s hand before we went up to the mic.
I’m so grateful for the Critter community and for what it has given me. CR has been truly life changing for us all ❤️

I absolutely loved when Matt said that ultimately he's not making this for the audience, but for the players. I think this is very important, to not lose focus of the original purpose, which is for this group of friends to have fun together. Matt has not failed for a single moment, and I have so much respect for him.
Yess it's so important. When I watch CR on Twitch, unfortunately I always close the chat section because of rule lawyers and people who always complain about choices of characters/cast. Some people should understand that technically all of this could be happening in a closed room without cameras and we wouldn't be able to witness anything. I understand that somebody might not be enjoying some arcs or scenes, but ultimately the joy of the cast is the most important, not the audience.
The audience appreciation is a welcome byproduct, and without it we wouldn't have any of CR or LOVM
But people have a tendency of being too conceded, which is the same reason they ask people not to yell out "suggestions" for the live shows
Robbie has a sincerity to him that builds the hype that much more, I really hope we get him to be a permanent cast member eventually
I feel like Robbie was one of the best guests in terms of fitting the vibe of the table. Aabria had a fantastic dynamic with Travis.
If they were ever going to add another permanent cast I hope it would be Robbie. He's on their exact wavelength in such a specific way that just makes him a perfect fit.
I know! Man, it feels like somethings is missing without him at the table.

Simple fairness to Robbie, convention moderators are truly pushed on time. They have handlers/production managers forcefully keeping them on schedule.
Mods seemingly rush conversations but only to utilize time for schedule's sake.
But you're acknowledgment of Matt's answer is just another reason why we love that story telling son of a gun. 👍
My own opinion, I really want more Allura and Kima detail. Always hoping for some one shot love of our favorite NPCs.

Critical role cast, I hope you realize from these events just how many people you have brought together of over a silly shared love of storytelling and tabletop gaming. Your friendships have sparked a phenomenon, and you should be proud of it.
Yes! Very well said. They have created an incredible legacy by just being their best nerdy self's. Their gift of story telling (Thanks Matt!) and role playing is amazing. So happy I made the decision 3 years ago to watch every campaign, starting at C1 during the start of the pandemic. What a ride! Love them so much.
I do so hope that one day my friends and I should share so much laughter over rolling dice and telling stories while not having a script to follow...

i’ve been on this train ever since he left, but robbie should definitely join as a permanent member. I know matt is already juggling a lot dming a table of 7 players but dorian was such a joy and robbie brought something really special to the table.
i just started rewatching campaign 3 and dorian and robbie are such a delight. I need him back! (also orym misses him and I just want that halfling to be happy)
I think this is my first comment on CZcams ever, but it's worth it to basically say y'all do more than I think you realize; storytelling is such an incredibly important part of the human experience since prehistory, but also you all are so good about inspiring the importance of love and kindness to your fellow human. Anyone who has been through cancer treatment knows it's a lot of just waiting and for chemo that infusion is many hours (only 8 for me perks of only being 28 I guess, but some of the friends I made in oncology have 12-16). You guys make it so much easier and as parasocial as it may be, it feels like a group of friends that are there to help me get through. Keep being awesome.
I love that despite all the eyes on CR now, Matt’s first priority is to run a game that is exciting for his friends right there at the table with him ❤

I am forever grateful these get posted to the channel for those of us who cannot attend. And now I'm super looking forward to October! Truly the Thursday of Months.
I was in the first row and I thought the cast was always looking straight at me. Then I realized that they were looking right at the on stage monitors.
But I pushed that notion aside and just let myself live in my own canon that I was a part of the cast and they were taking right to me.
This panel was amazing. This was my first time attending the panel at SDCC because normally I was Hall H bound. But because of the strikes I was able to come to this panel instead.
My family panel camped all day but it was totally worth it. There was never a dull moment!
When Talesin was talking at 23:40 about symbols on the back of his jacket that are two arrows facing one way, a circle in the middle and two arrows facing the other way, that makes me thing of forwards, backwards, and a play/pause button. So yeah, if he figured out what that means, we can get a punk boy hopping through time!
i believe it's the elemental triangle symbols that are also very similar to the ashari symbol, it's on the back of his dice guardian statue
The M9 London show will be great, but I want to experience the reaction of *VM* rwhen Keyleth gets word to them about what happened to Vax & her, and how loud the "Vox Machina, F*** S*** UP!" battle cry will be.

I loved Matt's description of Keyeth up close, trying to hold onto the persona of the Tempest, but with an underlying white-hot anger underneath. She doesn't just want to stop the "bad thing" but wants those responsible for what happened to die. Similar to Orym's motivations, but hotter. And does that make her pro-god? Well, The Matron didn't protect her champion. Sort of like the gods didn't protect Bor'dor's mother.
Having just seen the TikTok of Sam saying he was forgotten, this is perfect😂😂😂😂
Also I remember Caleb, the fan who asked their question to Liam, from an older live show. Im glad they were able to transition. Im so happy for them

hearin Marisha talk about Laudna form of dread made to scare Travis I rembered a folk tale from my country: La dama tapada better translated as the Cloaked Lady or the Veiled Lady.
Is a woman with an alluring presence, with a veil over her face dressed in fancy deep blue or black dress, from far away she looks gorgeous and mysterious, and has on her a sweet parfume that beckons you to her. She goes after men late at night that have been drinking too much, ignoring their wives or cheating on them, when a drunk guy catch a glimpse of her and her aroma is felt, they man is locked in a trance like state and will follow the Veiled Lady anywhere she goes, she will take them trough the streets and between dark alleys, around parks until there is noone else around, she will allure them to kiss the guy in solace only for the guy to find out when properly facing her, that the sweet aroma turns to rot, and the veil is removed to see the visage of a putrecent sallow corpse of a woman that screeches to his victim shattering all sanity that her victim would have leaving a convulsing man on the floor, frothing from his mouth. At the next morning people would find the guy ethier, collapsed and unconsious with terror in their eyes, disoriented, concussed and with heavy memory loss or mostly common dead, drowned in their own vomit.
At first before realizing Laudna form of dread was inspired by Delilah I used to think she somehow was inspired by this folktale, I know it was farfetched but it was fun to think it was so anyway.
CR goodness!!! Yes. Aaaand Matt and the crew’s love, patience, and respect for all those who were able to ask questions. Being a Critter is about being kind- love that.

51:00 I think also when a concept is sprung, like "can I do X?" it's ok or preferred to shoot them down but if the player comes with the idea between sessions, you gotta at least try to explore if it can work. but then again - stuff like Orym tying up a monster and dropping the rope in a machine, restraining it in a massive setpiece? I can't imagine there were rules set up for any machinery or how the rope would interact but instead a moment of inspiration was made manifest within the game world without a care for "does this break the rules?" and you love to see it.
Did anyone else think Sam's normal smile wasn't reaching his eyes? Dude, whatever you're going through, we love you!
I just want to know if Laura ever expected to say the sentence "I enjoyed shooting a porn" in front of hundreds of people. (also poor Matt. He pushed that into a little box in the back of his head to avoid the trauma of it)
After Matt said he thought of Tary after the Solstice, all I want now is another one-shot with him, The Darrington Brigade Rides Again!

Really feels like he was having a good day! He was the same way if not more so at the Candela panel (which I am told happened a bit later, same day)
I miss going to San Diego for ComicCon, but now even more that I could see my favourite gamers in person. You did so well in the vast amount of energy that is SDCC every year, and were everything that an attendee could hope for. Robbie was a fantastic host, and all the cast were so genuine, yet still kept the appropriate amount of professionalism to make for a magical moment for everyone.
Even though she was on the announcement when they were going to San Diego, I wasn't entirely sure Ashley was going to attend due to the recent events, it's nice to see her on the panel
Robbie was a great host and there were so many little teases this panel! It's also crazy how tame Sams' outfit was this time 😆
God I love these people. Not only because they tell amazing stories but because they are truly inspiring. They're all just normal people and normal friends who have built something beautiful with there passion. It truly makes me want to strive to their levels of success and be as charismatic and loving as them.

I am so SO delighted that Ashley named the Beauyasha date as one of her favorite CR memories! I've watched and enjoyed all three campaigns, caught up with C3, but that night of C2E126 was something truly special. When I came across Crutical roles panel fromSDCC 2023, I was not expecting Robbie Daymond to be the host. I recently watch the English Dub of the Wano flashback arc in One Piece telling the story of Kouzaki Oden and it was amazing. Robbie's performance was amazing and I fell in love with the character and understand why nearly everyone in Wano loved him so much and are still loyal to him and his family even 20 years later in present day. Just sucks Oden is no longer around in present day so we can see more of the character and Robbie's performance as Kouzaki Oden. "Oden wouldn't be Oden, if it wasn't boiled!!!" 😢❤
Props to question asker #5, I don't know why but I loved her energy and if I saw them would immediatly try to be friends with them. Like where do you get that confidence, its amazing.
The fact that Matt emphasizes that this story is for his friends and us liking it is just gravy is so nice. They really are just a bunch of friends who got lucky that what they enjoy doing is enjoyable to witness too!

I find myself near breathless with appreciation that you all share your gaming nights with us. For so many years, and those years separate the instances of dnd game nights, as I have in my life written some stories(notclassically published) and some stories of fanfiction, but I LOVE the give and take of stories between writers and story tellers. The sharing of inspiration and responses between people turns into a classic drama class of Improv, when a CLAP halts everything and any of the storytellers might be tagged out and replaced with someone else taking that exact moment and by adding their own inspiration and idea of where to take action, or are inspired to go in different directions.
I like seeing how people are inspired in different directions...
And once upon a time, I thought I was the only one who loved watching people playing these games and verbally telling stories and playing off each other.
If i ever have the opportunity to ask a question. It would be, will there ever be a new season of all work no play!
AWNP helped me through the pandemic and it was so wholesome to see these friends talk to eachother.❤
