    Easy to follow and thorough step by step tutorials do it yourself (DIY) to help you with your broken lawn and garden equipment including snowblowers.
    I do my best to teach you how to easily diagnose problems the fastest, quickest and most efficient way with real repairs beyond just replacing a spark plug. These tips are for both the homeowner and shop owner.
    Whether it be a handheld, two stroke, two cycle engine like a chainsaw, weed eater, weed wacker, string trimmer, grass trimmer, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, strimmer, brush cutter, leaf blower, or four stroke, four cycle units like a lawnmower, wood splitter, lawn tractor, snowblower, pressure washer, generator or a ride on mower that needs parts installed or replaced, I’m your go-to guy.
    My favorite brands of spark plugs are NGK and Champion and are the ones I recommend.
    I’ve been a small engine mechanic for many decades and also run my own repair shop so my videos are loaded with tips and tricks that I have learned and want to share with you. You will also find many tool and product reviews from top brands on my channel as well.

    You have the best video on this issue! I have a Ryobi SS26 that's out of warranty,
    but is configured the same as your machine.
    I just notched a groove with a dremel & was able to back the left packman screw
    a quarter turn counterclockwise with a flathead screwdriver, throttles up & runs perfectly! I couldn't justify buying that tool on a throw away item, or paying a shop
    on a repair that would cost almost as much as a brand new machine!
    If it's still under warranty you may not want to do the dremel hack & void the waranty

    And good tip on the dremel tool. The thinnest cutting wheel not only sliced neatly through the center of the screw so it could be adjusted with a flathead, it provided a guide sliced into the outer aluminum housing so you can tell how far you turn the screw within 180 degrees.
    In the case of the Sears Craftsman unit, the high throttle adjustment was opposite yours but it took all of a few seconds and ½ turn to figure that out.

    Since it was idling fine, why did you richen the low speed jet first? This machine was starving for fuel at higher RPMs, not lower RPMs. It really never revved up properly until you fattened up the high speed jet anyway.

    • @donyboy73
      @donyboy73  Před 8 lety

      it's better to turn out both a bit

    • @schipsielectric4035
      @schipsielectric4035 Před 6 lety

      The low speed adjustment circuit also feeds the high speed circuit when the throttle is opened so richening the low also feeds /helps the high a little. The high just feeds at high speed. The other thing that happens is if the idle mixture is too lean the engine may stay running but can't transition from idle to a faster speed without bogging down. That is because the carb leans out until the engine is up to speed. Yes it appears the high speed needed adjustment also. There are good instructions how to adjust carbs on CZcams. Basic, adjust low screw at idle and high screw at full speed. There is a span in the screw adjustment it will run the fastest, set in the middle of that range. If the engine still bogs when opening throttle turn the low screw counter clockwise a half turn to richen idle circuit.

    • @ryy597
      @ryy597 Před 5 lety

      the low screw is just as important at high rpm. the h screw is to richen or lean the engine at maximum rpm wich will control the max rpm

    According to the EPA they can fine someone over $3000 for selling that tool to you and it is illegal for you to make these adjustments.
    US Code of Federal Regulations, Title 40: Protection of Environment
    §1068.101(b) states:
    (2) Defeat devices. You may not knowingly manufacture, sell, offer to sell, or
    install, any part that bypasses, impairs, defeats, or disables the control of
    emissions of any regulated pollutant … (EPA) may assess a civil penalty up to
    $3,750 for each part in violation.
    By selling the carburetor adjustment tools to consumers or making it available on the
    internet, you may be viewed as selling a “Defeat device” and be subject to the above
    penalties.
    This is an example of the liberal progressive agenda to take away your freedom in the false pretense of protecting the environment. They really just want to control everything!
    RESIST: get a tool and adjust your 2 cycle carburetor. Vote for a conservative Government if you value YOUR FREEDOM!

    Totally awesome......had recently cleaned carb. replaced all fuel lines, filter and spark plug after weed eater started bogging down at full throttle.....didn't have carb drivers so I cut some flat tip screw drivers slots in top of the jet screws.....turned little over quarter turn to the left and "Wa La" .....running like it was new.......be careful cutting slots if you've spiledl any gas on out side of weedeater because hot metal sparks fly......again ....awesome video with fix....saved me $40 an hour by most repair shops. Thanks a bunch to the guy that posted this.

    Great video, I have a trimmer that had been sitting for years because it did not run right and stalled when I hit the throttle, it is now running like a champ. I took the carb off and used a hacksaw to gently cut through the housing and notch the screws so a flat head screw driver could adjust them. Only took about 10 slow gentle swipes with the hacksaw, 0 dollars spent.Runs like new. Thank you!!

    This is another issue I need to do. I thought it was bogging down because the primer bulb cracked. Now I'm thinking maybe not. I will use your video to walk me thru the bulb replacement. Then I will check the carburator. Thank you for you easy to follow videos. Your clear in your instructions, your are is nice & bright, and you show everything. Please keep your videos coming.

    Great video, after replacing gas lines and primer bulb I was able to adjust my weed wacker using your video. I didn’t have the proper tool so I used a small flat head and wedged it against the splines and twisted to adjust the mixture screws

    Thanks I am happy to say my weedeater runs beautiful, And I am really happy to say it's a weedeater I found in the dump along with a 111 dollar titanium driver. So all in all I made a couple hundred bucks in less than an hour with your knowledge and someone else's ignorance at the dump. Thanks again!!! Oh I also subscribed

    Just want to say how your video saved me a lot of headache. I kept searching online on how to keep my P1500 from bogging down every time I put it on the "Run" setting and all I got from it was that I would be better off just trashing the trimmer. It took me about 5 minutes after I saw your video although I did have to adjust it with needle nose pliers. As soon as I got it running smoothly I saw your other video on the tool product number and purchased it on Ebay for $10 in case I need to do more adjusting in the future. Thanks again!!!

    This is an excellent explanation on how to fix this problem. Just fyi, I used a small pair of needle nose pliers that I use for my crafts to twist those two little inset adjustment screws. Was a challenge, but worked. Thanks for being so informative and on the money with your instructions.

    Thanks Donyboy73. Your videos helped. I have an Echo SRM 3110, but, the concepts are all the same. I tried to clean out the spark arrestor, but, it was mostly clean to begin with. I had let mine sit with gas in it. I primed the carb with Mechanic in a Bottle, and let it sit for a few days. I also had to replace all the fuel lines and clean out the gas tank. I got it running, but, it still wouldn't rev all the way. I finally just took off the carb. It was mostly clean, but, I used Seafoam to wipe down the diaphragm in the bulb assembly, and, both sides of the intake gasket. They were minimally dirty in my opinion, but, it was enough to cause the problem. I reassembled, and ran like it was new.
