Cool history.
It is taking us a minute to watch all your videos and get caught up but I can't tell you enough how much we enjoy them. Our traveling days are over but yours are giving us so much enjoyment! Thank You!
Wow, thank you, Judith!
Just fyi, y’all were staying in North Little Rock. Different town. Four quarter Bar is in the Argenta district in NORTH Little Rock! Across the River is Little Rock!
That is correct. Our hotel was on the Arkansas River across from Little Rock in North Little Rock. I could see the Little Rock skyline from the hotel window.
They are good!
I hope you're not intending to suggest that little rock is better than NLR. This is the only state in the country where it is legal to be a slum lord.
@@quackersnayou are correct. Arkansas is not the most consumer-friendly state. Landlords can get away with virtually anything. I have had more than one crappy landlord.
Great places
I’ve always laughed when I see the Clinton double wide as I’m crossing the river on 1-30
My son was a Presidential guard while he was in the Marine Corps. He guarded Clinton in Washington for 8 months and then at Camp David for 14 months. Then he went overseas after that and ended up in the Persian Gulf.
Wow...the abandoned house that's in your thumbnail pic is in my old neighborhood LOL!!
I'd recognize that house anytime.
It was abandoned even when I was a kid and I'm in my late 40s LOL!!
So sad
Calling the Rivermarket a train station hurt my soul a little 😅
right? just drove right on by it lol
They have farmers market there that are great...several good restaurants.
Only people that didn't know cousin bill were shocked at anything he might do. But he actually was one of the best presidents we've ever had. The only on to balance the national budgets since he did that as governor.
You obviously have no idea what a real Democrat was...sorry for your confusion.
I love your videos so much. I was old enough to remember Bill and his politics and It felt like a better time overall for America. I used to consider myself extremely left leaning, but now I'm more center because the modern day left is insane. I truly wish we could do whats best for this country and our people. It makes me sad to see what we've become. Your wife is adorable. I really enjoy watching you both together and your adventures through america.
I also believe in PETA (people eating tasty animals) as an omnivore.
I love the people eating tasty animals!
Enjoyed watching the video and getting to know this beautiful city! Loved the reaction from your wife when you agreed with her on the hotel rating.
I LIVE IN ARKANSAS AND MY MOTHER N LAW HAS VOLUNTEERED FOR THE PRESIDENT LIBRARY FOR OVER 15 YEARS, CLINTON NEVER VISITS THIS PLACE... THANKS FOR COMING TO VISIT.
Of course
Clinton Library looks like a cheap mobile home on stilts…! And yea the very top of it… is Bill’s living quarters when in town
You took the words out of my mouth. I was thinking either the architect wanted the locals to feel at home or else it was designed to detract tornadoes away from the downtown area.
I was coming to look for this comment 🤣🤣 Trailer on stilts is exactly what everyone from the area said when it was built, it looks so ridiculous. Lol.
It's a functional design...meant to be enjoyed from inside.
Love watching your videos. Thanks for giving us a free tour of the Clinton Library.
I’m from Arkansas and Little Rock is not all that bad you just don’t want to go late at night! There is lots of history that makes Little Rock interesting! My grandmothers picture is also up at the capital! Anyways hope you enjoyed your time in Little Rock!😁👍🏻
We did! Little Rock was a lot nicer than what we thought it would be.
Knowing where not to go in Little Rock helps a ton. I love the town, River Market and West LR is great.
@@mELONHEAD1899 So west LR is pretty awesome
ITS NOT THAT BAD...JUST DONT GO OUTSIDE AT NIGHT!!! 😂 Yeah ..lol sounds great
Another Great Video! I lived in the Little Rock area for a year ,I saw more of it in your video than I did when I was there. Nice portrayal of the city Joe and Nic.
Aww you visited Little Rock! That’s the place I was born. I live close to Little Rock but hope you enjoyed the stay!
We did!
Little Rock has slightly sloped ground. There's dense vegetation all over and it positively revealed all the beauty and peacefulness of Arkansas.
I’m sure the people of Little Rock would have preferred a little less focus on Bill Clinton. 😜
Thank you for the interesting trip videos. Yes, Arkansas people are very opionated. They don't care what they say or who they hurt. My late husband was from there. At times, it was very embarrassing. We are from CA.
Love your travels. Thanks
Thank you for watching, Mathew.
I'm surprised that the state capital was closed when you went for a visit. During the holidays it's usually open during the evening hours so visitors can see the beautiful holiday decorations inside and admire how the exterior is lit up.
Little Rock my home now! Hog for life
WPS 🐗❤️
Wonderful video. Keep up the magnificent work.
Interesting tour through a quaint southern capitol.
I was surprised at the city. However, I felt like I was there. It's nice when y'all walk around a lot. I can't. It give me the feeling that I'm walking with y'all.
It seems that y'all had a great time. I'm glad.
I can't get over a city being named after a rock.
Thank you, B, and that's the best compliment you can give me. That is my goal with every video. :)
@@JoeandNicsRoadTrip You're welcome. I've heard you say that.
How is it being in a vehicle with someone just about everyday? I'm not sure I could do that.
When you do tours without your wife, at least that gives y'all some time alone.
Keep it up. Now, you need to find a sponsor. Make that money. Y'all might want to buy another house. 🤔
Thank you for this awesome video! I'm a skyscraper geek and I've always noticed that for a city the size of Little Rock, (metro pop. 750K), it has quite an impressive skyline.
It does.
I hope you come visit Benton Arkansas next time you come through! :) This was a great video and explanation of Little Rock.
thanks for doing Little rock. We were there in early Dec. 2021 and the capital was lit up for Christmas. We would go back again and stay for maybe 5 days. Also we saw more night life than you did. :)
Nlr not lr
5 days?!
What would you do in LR?
@@MAA77723 there's a lot to do in little rock than people think lol

I always liked LIttle Rock....this continues to confirm that.
I think they could had done little better on that Library looks like a Trailer 🤔..Inside beautiful tho
many including myself think it was meant to look like a trailer. im not even kidding.
I wish I could have shown you around. When you were at the Gov Mansion you were blocks from Villa Marre. The exterior of it was used as the main house in Designing Women. Also, the Gov Mansion exterior was used as Suzanne's Sugar baker's house. The AR capitol building is a scaled down model of the National Capitol. Little Rock Central High School is in that area of town too. It's where The Little Rock Nine were the first black students to attend the all white school. Did you know that AR is the only state that you can travel due south and different points around the state and travel into every state it borders?
plus the old capital museum! that was really cool surprise when i was trippin around my first time in little rock.
Is the old mill still standing? It was shown in the opening of Gone With The Wind.
@@Theywaswrongyes it is but it’s in North Little Rock in the Lakewood area
Why didn’t you go by Central High school

arkansas is my favorite place outside of my home state. mainly for the hiking in the ozarks and ouachitas but when ive traveled to little rock ive enjoyed myself. never really felt unsafe even at various dining and pharmacy establishments i maybe shouldnt have been at at certain times.

Thank you for watching, David!
Thx Joe fascinating feels like I was there
you found the blue dress in the Clinton museum! Friends and I spent hours there.
Love your videos!! Need a video on Hot Springs Arkansas. 🙂
I'm from Little Rock. I worked at Cafe 42. It's a restaurant in the bottom of the Clinton Library. I also lived in the area right by the Governor's Mansion onn 16th Street. Across from that massive Lutheran church that was in your video after you turned around at the front gate of the Governor's Mansion. That area of downtown is called the Quapaw Quarter. It's really nice there, but as soon as you leave that area (it's only a few blocks in circumference), it gets kind of sketchy really quickly. The area where the restaurant is that you guys ate at is called The River Market. That area is relatively new. Back in the 80s, no one went downtown especially at night. The hotel you all stayed at was actually in North Little Rock, which is a totally separate city from Little Rock. A long time ago, like in the 50's, it was called Dog Town, because that's where people would go to drop off stray dogs. The hotel you all were at used to be a Hilton and the steak house there used to be a Benihana. There is a festival every summer downtown called Riverfest and on the last night, they shoot a bunch of fireworks. The parking lot of that hotel is the perfect vantage point to view the fireworks if you don't want to spend at least an hour trying to find somewhere to park downtown and then pay to get into the festival and then to negotiate the crowds. I've been going to that parking lot since the 80s to watch the fireworks every year. Sorry for the long comment. I'm glad you all enjoyed Little Rock.
If I'm not mistaken, one of those houses you went by was the exterior house used in the sitcom Designing Women. You were at least in that area.
I paid $13 for Nixon Library and $28 for the Reagan Library back in 2017.
You should see it in spring, absolutely gorgeous
Been here alot gobto the dr there.i live in Morrilton 53 miles west of Little Rock between Conway and Russellville Arkansas
North Little Rock is becoming the Mecca in Arkansas but as a whole Little Rock is the best city
I worked in Little Rock for 14 years, my job was based out of the airport. Section of LR are real shite holes. My office and home base was on the west side of the airport, which is on the east side of Little Rock. I didn't live in Little Rock but commuted 3 to 4 days a week..
West Little Rock isn't bad, but it's not a city I want to live in, some of my family lives in west LR.
Little Rock has a very high crime rate and murder rate, but it okay if you know which parts of the city to avoid..
Probably it was during Mike Huckabee's administration that the governor's mansion was in the news the most often, because it was a tripe-wide mobile home while the house was being remodeled.
Couple months later . Little Rock is going crazy on homicides crime happening everyday . This mayor has done nothing but disappoint . And it’s all going downhill .
That's every big city. Little Rock mayor can't control the crime if the police department is short staffed. The mayor has brought in many new and big jobs to little rock
little rock looked surprisingly good.
It does. I expected much worse. It turned out to be a pretty nice town.
When you From Little Rock Iike I am.. And you moved to Atlanta and now stay in Minneapolis.. You quickly remember that Little Rock is a pretty nice place to live.. I shall return in a few years
All presidential libraries charge but Clinton library do have free days
I was born in LR and grew up there, 25th and Oak street. still live close to it.
Little Rock is decent. Living here now and my family is from pine bluff/Little Rock. Very beautiful place. Pretty boring but it’s something special about that. I plan on coming back here and buying a house here but in terms of advancements its not the best place.
best advice to give, going to little rock stay away from anywhere near the Simmons arena area, and stay away from the areas behind the air force base, otherwise little rock is a nice place
This was one of your very best visits to Little Rock. Loved the visit to Pres. Clinton's library. You r spot on that he's more like Republicans today as the Dems r crazy! Love your Clinton shenanigans remarks. Like Pres. Clinton more than HELLery -- what a witch. She wanted to run everything. No wonder he ran around! Love u & your lovely wife's comments on the Wyndham, very fair, pretty & seasonally decorated. Thought the grounds around Clinton library could be greatly improved however. RB, Conyers, Ga.
You ought to see Eureka Springs. There's the Crescent and Basin Park hotels, the Blue Spring, Onyx Cave.
We'll be visiting there this summer.
@@JoeandNicsRoadTrip That's a good time to go there. I prefer autumn. You might want to check out the smaller version of the Golden Gate Bridge that goes over Beaver Lake. It's pretty cool.
Eureka Springs gets real hot in the summer and you have to do a lot of walking or slow careful driving there. I recommend that you go in the fall when the leaves are turning colors.
Yall should have visited Central High School where the Little Rock Nine attended.
A few weekends ago, Little Rock had 13 shootings. Keep your head on a swivel!

Perhaps someday, you will travel to the city of Helena, Montana, from whence I came many years ago. If you like huge, Victorian mansions with giant yards and beautiful landscaping, then that is one city you do not want to miss. Look up its history and you will see what I am talking about. At one point in the late 19th century, Helena had more millionaires per capita, than any other city on the planet. Gold was easy to find and many people found themselves incredibly wealthy in a very short period of time. The many huge Victorian mansions, especially in Helena's West side Mansion District, are still there, looking over all of the down town area, which is called Last Chance Gulch. Thanks for sharing your travels with us and perhaps one day, you will get to Helena. But for now, Arkansas and Missouri will do just fine. Take care and safe travels to you both.
We'll be visiting Helena and other Montana cities this summer. :)
@@JoeandNicsRoadTrip So cool! I know you will love it there. Especially the West side mansion district. Don't miss it! The Victorian mansions in that neighbourhood are gargantuan and very beautiful. It is where I grew up and lived for many years. I do miss that neighbourhood. Lots of good people and the beautiful old Gothic and Queen Anne architecture is astounding. They do not make houses/mansions like that any longer, which is a shame. Let me know if I can help with anything. I can certainly direct you and clue you in to some very interesting places and ghost towns in the area, if you guys are interested. Keep on keepin' on, you two!
What is that music at the start of this Littleton trip?
Too bad the Arkansas State Capitol was closed. It’s very pretty inside. I took a lot pictures there when I visited. If you visit the State Treasurers office there they even let you hold half a million dollars. Nic could take a pic of you holding all that money. I was alone so someone in the office there took a pic of me holding all the money. Maybe the next time you pass thru you can visit it.
i am not a fan of bill or hillary clinton at at. however i was born and raised close to little rock in jacksonville ar. it was rare occasion for us to go to little rock because of the crime. we did however go to north little rock pretty often. there was a mall built there on mccain blvd when i was 9-10 y/o. as a teen we hung out a the mccain mall. it was a big deal to us teens. there was 3 stories tall and had over 140 stores in it. it was a good place to people watch. read in girl watch. the macain mall had a store called pfiefer /blass in it. in it there was a large department store. a girl that i knew named Wendy Ward that i had a romantic interest in for a while in the 9th grade, she told me that her Dad was killed in the construction of a store there.

The Little Rock you showed is not the one I hear about on the news, often. Little Rock is like Omaha, Nebraska. You have to know where not to go, like a lot of large cities. Don't you usually show the rough areas of cities? I expected that. Maybe you were in a friendly mood.
