I went scuba diving in a popular tubing river and used my waterproof metal detector to search for lost valuables underwater. BOY did I find some stuff today! My favorite part was tracking down the owners and seeing their reactions!

I have to confess. I let the phones dry out for a few months before doing the work of finding and contacting the owners. But they don’t need to know that, it’s more shocking to receive a call 7 months later! 🤣

If they change their number, look for contacts you can call such as "mom", "sis" or "bestie". Those numbers wouldn't have changed
That's a great tip when the phone is unlocked. Sadly I don't know how to access the contacts when the phone has a passcode lock. Thanks for watching!

@@ManPlusRiver if it was an iPhone, some people have their emergency contacts in the Medical ID area, which is accessible from the emergency part of the locked screen.
@@ManPlusRiverhey man! So I’ve found a couple phones before that are locked. You can press and hold the button to get Siri. Then say call mom or call dad and then if they answer you have an awkward interesting conversation. Hope that helps even if the phone is locked.

Hi! As that one guy said the 2 phones in the protective case had been in the water for 9 months... I got the idea that you should contact the maker of the case. They could buy the clip of your vid to use as a demo/sales pitch of how good their waterproof cases work.

The amount of things people lose is crazy
That’s a snake egg!! I’ve seen a couple snake eggs here in Australia and they looks similar to them!
I'm betting turtle egg, especially with some of the influx of precipitation y'all have had - seems plausible it could have washed out of the nest near the edge of the river. They're usually just beyond the shoreline. Unfortunately, due to the permeable nature of that type of egg shell, it would not survive being underwater. But you did the right thing in spirit! ❤️

I’m so sad that I don’t live near you, or at least in America. Because most of those phones could be fixable. By the way, when you took the S-Pen out of the Samsung S22 Ultra underwater, water got in I believe 😢. But ofc, great video and great to see some phones made it to their owners 😊
Hey, Dallas; I'm really happy to see you doing what you obviously enjoy (diving) and cleaning up waterways from human carelessness. The fact that you always look for the owners of electronics is so heartwarming. I know that when I misplace my phone in my house, it causes anxiety: I can't imagine the panic of losing a phone in water and figuring it's gone permanently. Then, receiving a call that starts, "Hi, my name is Dallas ..." It's a great thing that you repeatedly do. Keep up the terrific work.

Good eye! It's because the phones were dropped at different times, and whenever they lost power is when they woke up thinking that was still the date!
