5:20 This isn't as crazy as you might think! In the PS1 games, if a TNT was counting down and you got too far away, it would be "deleted" with the explosion sound, rather than actually explode. This means that it wouldn't destroy any adjacent crates, since it wasn't *actually* exploding! Same thing with the Nitro Switches, so they changed it for the N-Sane Trilogy!
I remember that screwed me over in the ps1 version of Crash 1 in Rolling Stones- I lost out on the gem because I thought the TNT crates had exploded together, but only the one that I set off before walking away did
Hah, I could've sworn that was what it did back on the PS1 (as I was missing crates, and it made sense technically), but then N. Sane Trilogy made me wonder if I'd just been paranoid or imagining it, as it was clearly counting adjacent crates there. It's a nice little QoL improvement, I'd say.
I might be wrong but I remember that crates next to nitros were also destroyed when you used the nitro switch on the PS1 games. Or probably this was on The Wrath of Cortex, don't remember right now.
nicolashan1997 they do if they're onscreen while exploding, but if they are quite a way offscreen there's a chance that just the nitro box is broken and not any adjacent regular boxes
TNT crates only didnt destroy adjacent crates when offscreen in Crash 1, they fixed that in Crash 2. It still happens with the Nitro switch though
Gotta love the energy you bring to the low poly birds sections, it's like a celebration each time. Also really great to hear the unique fun you're having for ads and small little moments like Crash's back pocket, which... I didn't even know he has any, let alone just one.

Just after 8:40 you can see the crate full of fruit. Cool to know that it's already loaded in and not just part of the crate texture.
10:05 Yeah, that's almost definitely it. They would have kept a copy of each pre-fab rock formation off to the side, and then cloned them and dropped those copies into the level as needed.
I do that kind of thing all the time with 3D models (just hobby stuff, though- no professional game dev or anything).
The unusual thing here, though, is the sheer volume of unused geometry. Most devs clean this stuff up before the game ships, and only a few objects get missed here and there.
If you do Crash 3 someday, please show what's behind the door on Orient Express (or any Pura level). It's probably nothing, but would be cool anyway! Thanks!
I truly genuinely loved this game as a kid and adult, its one of the reasons I wanted to be a game designer, so this video made me happy.
I actually assume that Crash's pocket is where he pulls out the Crystals and Gems, since it's on the same side that he reaches towards.

yeah when placing objects into a scene it's usually easier to put them in somewhere off to the side once, set them up, and then just use them like a palette and duplicate them, rather than having them placed in from scratch from the folder each time.
I guess some artists just forget to remove them afterwards
i would not be suprised if the fur texture is actually a texture modification that can be applyed to any texture and it was just acidently applyed to the mouth

@@Zenlore6499 The only thing I know is that it's a 4v4 online multiplayer game, and since most online games require a subscription on the PS4 (the console that I use nowadays), chances are I may end up skipping this one, because I'm one of those people who thinks I shouldn't have to pay for the internet twice. If it has an offline mode, I might change my mind and check it out, I don't know, I'll just wait for the reviews to be sure

10:44 there's an interesting look that Cold Hard Crash's Bonus platform actually ended on the later part of the stage. Wether it's intentional or not is up to debate.

i probably don't need to suggest this because people can break out of bounds playing casually in this game, but maybe have a boundary break episode on pokemon scarlet and violet. i mean who knows, there may be some different things hidden in the games.

Some 3d editors that have fur texture simulations have tend to put fur everywhere, they probably forgot to remove the yeti's fur because it's kinda hidden.

I mean if you think about it every gem has a different objective to unlock it so maybe it’s easier to code that preset in with an extra pedestal

Nice vid! I like crash Bandicoot, but it's about time is so bad, it tooks me the crash i love.
Possible that some of those cylinders act as scale reference? It suppose to be cube or character, but maybe it is used as "select everything in this level, and let scale it till cylinder have 1 meter height".
Other option might be easier - cylinder is to just point out where will be begging of level in 3D space. They prepared set of levels on single map and then split them. Place cylinder from tab, would spawn it in point 0 0 0 so move level geometry and align it, would be easy task
