No auto tuned! This video was recorded mid 90s! This was part of 16 consecutive concerts he did in one of the most important venue of Mexico: Auditorio Nacional. He has a tour 2023-2024 and he will do around 200 concerts all around the world. He already sold out 2 Real Madrid stadiums in Madrid, Spain for this summer.
Real Madrid's stadium has an audience capacity of 85,000 people... Even if you take out all the seats of one of the smaller sides (since they have to place there the stage), thousands of people will be standing on the field, so maybe it's still even more than 85,000 people. Let's say he sold tickets for at least $100... That's more than $17 millions in just two concert days WOW

Once married to a Spanish woman who introduced me to Luis Miguel in the early 90s. Loved his music and voice instantly, and I don’t speak but a few words of Spanish. Saw him live in concert twice. No one in the audience looked at me twice, especially when I started singing along, haha. One of my favorite singers ever. And the lyrics convey so much more in Spanish than any English translation.

He's proudly represented Mexico and all Spanish-speaking countries through his music. In the years that Pop singers like Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin did their respective crossover into the English singing market, the Spanish-speaking media clamored for Luis Miguel to do the same because he was really and truly the one we all wanted for the rest of the world to discover who Luis Miguel was, but he refused to do so even though he also speaks perfect English; he famously stated during that time that if people wanted to listen to his music, it had to be in Spanish because he considered himself a true ambassador of our language. The best way to describe him is if you combine Fredy Mercury's vocal range + Elvis Presley's edgy charisma + Frank Sinatra's elegant stage presence = you get Luis Miguel.

I agree with everything you say, Luismi approaches perfection. If perfection exists, that's this guy, he's pure art, what Roger Federer was to a tennis court, Luismi is to a singing stage, pure art domination, but in the last part comparing to adding Mercury, Elvis and Sinatra, I would say maybe, that he has a plus above adding those three together, is like plus a fourth category, the skill of an opera singer who has a mix of a tenor and baritone perhaps, even a bajo, for saying something, I'm not expert at all, but think that his voice is a lot more educated and has more natural skill than Mercury or Presley.
The best way to describe him is if you combine Fredy Mercury's vocal range + Elvis Presley's edgy charisma + Frank Sinatra's elegant stage presence = you get Luis Miguel. That says a lot but I agree with you.

Just saw him live while vacationing in Puerto Rico a couple months ago. Knew nothing about him other than he was a big deal. I don’t even speak Spanish, but I had a day to myself so I said “why not?”
When I tell you that it was THE best concert I’ve ever seen. By the end I was literally crying even though I didn’t understand a word he said. This song in particular is still in my rotation. What a freaking icon!

Fun fact: In the music video for “La Incondicional” Luis Miguel was able to record inside a military air base. ( I’m not sure but I think he has been the only Mexican artist to do that, and then others couldn’t do it no more) My Great Uncle was one of the military man that’s in the music video and he was able to take pictures with him.

He's not singing as much and not belting those notes as much either. He turns the mic away to the audience for them to sing A LOT, as you see him doing here. Some things she pointed out just come naturally to native Spanish speakers. Placement of the tongue, jaw position, projecting sound through the nose. Spanish is my second language and getting away from my “lazy tongue placement” and singing more in my throat because I’m an English speaker. When I was learning Spanish people would tell me that my mouth was too closed, and that my tongue was too far back when rolling my R’s. They told me to help fix that, I needed to read Spanish out loud while biting on a pencil. And my Spanish pronunciation improved a TON after that!

The moment I searched about Luis Miguel? It's the end for me. He got my heart and soul. I randomly discovered him while looking for Latin American songs during my Encanto Fandom Era. Then I first heard Hasta Que me Olvides. What sealed the deal is Pensar en ti. That song is still my go to. Every morning I listen to it.

As an American living in South America (for many years), I assure you that it's even better when you understand what he's saying/singing. Much respect.
His amazing performance and vocals come from being raised in the limelight. He did not had a normal childhood as he was forced to rehearse. His father was also a singer but nothing like him, his child voice was amazing too. He can sing his songs even fast asleep! Nevertheless he still amazing. Italian mom, Spanish dad, born in Puerto Rico and raised in México.
Wow I was just sitting here looking to sing some karaoke and found this jewel, he is in my opinión so talented, just saw him 2 weeks ago and is not the same since he had an accident that left him partially deaf but he is still such a great performer, saw him in 1989 and besides singing wonderful he was sooooo handsome.

If I recall correctly Luis Miguel dedicated this song to an older woman he really loved but lost her at some point... the reason why I'm mentioning this is because, when a song means something important to the interpreter... the tones become... more... emotive... you put yourself out there (sort of speak).
