Incredible engineering and fabrication!! Very very impressive!! I always look forward to these updates!!
Thanks Paul! It had been slow going for a while, but it's coming together again now. The next major hurdle is steering, I need to make a new steering shaft to go around my manifolds. I can't find a bearing that I need to replace in the steering box, but once I have, I'll be able to tackle that.
Awesome job Bennett!! 😁👍 That remote shifter is one slick looking setup! I'm glad to see you're making progress on the 'ole binder. Take care, be safe and happy wrenching 🔧🔩
Thanks! It's coming along. Too bad it's hunting season now though, so life is on hold for a little while ;)
Just finished all of your International truck videos, hoping you have some more coming soon! Love your videos!
Thanks man, I appreciate that! Still picking away at it!
Looking good! Glad to see the progress!
My R180 still sits as it has for decades
Thanks! If it wasn't for an issuing I'm having finding some steering parts, specifically a bearing, I think I might have been able to get mine to move this year under its own power
What kind of bearing is it?
Last winter I sleeved a couple ball roller bearings to replace the obsolete output bearings in a transfer case. Purchased new bearings with correct width and inner dimensions and sleeved the outer on a lathe. Worked great. Wonder if that could done for your situation?
@@ponway unfortunately, it's a taperd roller bearing. I can find the outter seat no problem, but not the bearing number. Even took it to a bearing shop and had no luck. I may put up a post on one of the forms and see if I can have it identified, or maybe just buy one off someone. Absolute worst case, I guess I could replace the steering box, but we'll cross that bridge only if we have to
@@RustRehab how involved is it to get to? Maybe I could look at mine and see if I could find a number, probably the same steering gear.
@@ponway there are 2 in the steering box, one on the top and one on the bottom. I seem to remember there being just a few bolts and a plate to remove at the bottom, but I could be mistaken. I was suprised My bearing place couldn't just get the dimensions off it and order a new one based off that
