This is one of the baby wild rats I rescued from our compost bin. They are now about 5 weeks old, and despite being friendly and never biting, I suspect they will always have a wild streak

I hand raised 7 baby rats 4boys and 3 girls they make great pets mine lived for 6 and half years thanks for sharing brought back fond memories

They are black rats, otherwise known as "ship rats" , species "rattus rattus"
