Sometimes you try to make a video and it doesn't workout how you had hoped. At that point, you either DON'T upload the video or at the very least you change the title to something suitable like "Failed battery removal attempt"
I should have realized this would be a waster of time when he took the first 16 minutes to let the battery run down. What the hell was that all about ? BUMMER!!

You have to take the waste basket off and remove the plastic ring and there are like 3 screws there.

Our was intermittent briefly, and now won't charge or start. I checked the charger and it's supplying current. Ideas? It's just dead. Would the fuse prevent it from charging and starting?

THE HIDDEN SCREWS ARE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE WASTE CYLINDER PULL OUT THE AIR COVER FLITER,THEN PUT YOUR HAND ON THE FLAT ROUND RING GEARS AND TURN COUNTER CLOCK WISE ,OR CLOCK WISE THE SPACE IN THE GEARS WILL REVEAL 3 PHILPS FLAT HEAD SCREWS SPACED OUT IN A 12-4-8 O'CLOCK POSSITION

OK, great tip. So I have the screw out and am trying pull out the battery pack but it only comes out maybe 2/3rds of the way and behaves like there is still something it is connected to. I was going to split the case open to investigate but I think there are screws under the little gray plastic grip that evidently snaps in place - I haven't solved the unsnapping yet - or do I have to?

Does not reveal how the replace the battery, or even open the case, what is the point?
the way they design the battery and how its integrated with the circuit board is not meant to be replace. If the battery failed, then you would have to buy a new vacuum. You could try to replace the thermal chip but you have to be practically an electrical engineer to do so. Sorry to deliver this news, but I hope you will not waste much time trying to fix it.

Mine was easy to open, I just slammed on the floor and wallah.
But where the efff do you get the battery?
You can get a battery from B&D website, but the big problem is opening the case once you get the battery. Still trying to figure it out.

I guess I'm impatient. First of all, I wasn't going to watch your video run the battery down for 16 minutes, wondering why you'd want to replace the battery when mine only lasts about a minute. Then I couldn't wait while you hand remove screws with a screwdriver. So I got my electric screwdriver out and figured out how to open up the vacuum, finding out that it's a proprietary battery that's not worth replacing so I'm trashing this one and buying a new one with a lithium battery.
The kicker is when I returned to this video and saw you never even figured out how to open it (there are 3 more screws in the circular part of the gray cover). Big fail for you. You seriously decided to upload this worthless video?
