Absolutely correct about the vocal trinity. I was born in 1983 and I have not witnessed anybody coming close to their overwelming universal appeal and talent.
i love both Whitney and Celine
Basically, she's doing a cover of the Whitney's version. She was a huge fan of Whitney who was an inspiration to her. She even said in an interview than when she discovered her for the first time in 1985 when nippy released her first record, Celine became an instant fan, loved the cover of the record and dreamed to be black and beautiful like her. She was in awe of her vocals. She did fine here and remember than Celine Dion is french-canadian and started to learn english around '84 actually. So basically she didn't quite understand what she was singing during her first performances in english and she still slayed ! I bow down to this Badass Queen ❤. A strengh of nature who deserves more recognition !

Amazing reaction, I love this song - thank you! I think she also performed this song many years later when when Whitney passed. Sounds great and her voice in this is much richer and fuller. And just for your information - in case you are not aware - Celine just gave an epic performance of "L'hymne de l'Amour" by Edith Piaf at the Olympic opening ceremony in Paris on Friday.
She was actually 19 here. You need to check out one of Celine’s favourites. His name is John Farnham. Please do his live version of Help! FANTASTIC!
