- This is the performance that was televised live on the evening of February 9 2019. It's a better version, both musically and visually, than the recording SBS has uploaded to CZcams. That version must have been recorded the night before as part of industry judges' performance. Personally, '2000 and Whatever' was my choice to represent Australia at Eurovision 2019. I've uploaded it here to preserve a copy for myself and for anyone else who'd like to see it again.

4:33 I get tears in my eyes whenever I imagine this on the stage of Tel Aviv. What could have been. Thousands of people of different nationalities and backgrounds going absolutely insane at one hair reveal. Instant winner for me and I'll always be bitter we didn't have the chance to see them at Eurovision.
EXACTLY! This is so BEYOND, so powerful, so culturally rich, representing the heart of Australia and its people. Unfortunately they couldn't go to Tel Aviv, but the world KNOWS the true winner, that's for sure.

Worldwide this was a universal favourite. I still can’t believe they didn’t take it all the way and win and I think many many people are disappointed that it didn’t win.

What a mistake not sending this. I can’t stop listening to this and their music. It’s FANTASTIC. This is bigger than Eurovision and would’ve been a worldwide smash with this platform. Australia went from 1st to last place.

As an Aussie i’m so proud to have been so close to seeing Aboriginal Australian Representation at such a global competition!
I sincerely hope that one day, we will get again be able to have the opportunity to see Aboriginal Australian representation at a Global Competition like Eurovision.

What I was trying to say is the incredible aboriginal languages and culture that for too long have been ignored! The fading languages that were represented in this song is what we need to see more of in the future!
@@Ethan-im3kr Fair enough. Language must never be forgotten. And I must apologise. Jessica did represent us in 2018, the year after Isaiah. I was thinking only of her first performance on the Eurovision stage in 2014 (which was out of competition). But she was back four years later.

I still come back to this song one year after Australia decides and can't help but think how it would have faired in Eurovision. Make no mistake Kate did us proud, but still think this would have been a great song to showcase the indigenous language mixed in with modern beat to the world. Oh well.

During the past ten months, this video has received numerous comments hoping that Electric Fields makes it to Eurovision 'next year'. Well, the sad news is that the ten acts competing in 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' for 2020 have now been announced and Electric Fields isn't amongst them. The good news is that there appears to be plenty of great talent amongst the contestants so it should be a terrific show. The ten are : 'The Voice 2019' winner Diana Rouvas, 'Australia's Got Talent 2011' winner Jack Vidgen, 19-year-old emerging singer-songwriter from Darwin Jordan-Ravi, Taiwanese-Australian multi-media artist Jaguar Jonze, Aussie icon Vanessa Amorosi, powerhouse entertainer Casey Donovan, rising First Nations artist Mitch Tambo, glam rock star iOTA, art pop auteur Montaigne and alternative artist Didirri.

@@96503412 I don't know. I do know that Electric Fields are a lot more popular now after competing in the 2019 contest. I'm sure they're very happy having been involved. Perhaps in the future they'll give it another go. Or maybe they'll put it behind them and move on. Either way, I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more from them in the future.
Apparently SBS approached them asking if they'd compete again but they declined as they didn't have a song ready. Here's to 2021 hopefully!
