In answer to the common criticism, why do you go to a concert and watch it from behind a screen, there is a simple answer, because I like it. Sure I miss some of the immediacy of the moment, but I also gain things that add to my enjoyment of the experience. There's the challenge and creativity involved in trying to catch that moment to the best of my ability and my limited resources. I know I'm never going to create professional quality footage but that's not the point. Above everything else it's to give me something to take away and relive in the years ahead.

I have removed a couple of videos but have had more of my footage used to enhance other videos. These have included Wreckless Eric, Midge Ure, The Damned (in one of the band's own music videos) and Kev Carmody (by SBS in a TV doco). Obviously, I'd prefer the latter to the former.

Fever Ray - Sydney - June 5 2024
When the music programme for Vivid 2024 was announced it was immediately obvious that Fever Ray would be the must see performance, and their first ever Australian concert didn’t disappoint. “Swedish Avantgarde techno pop artist” (not my label, but as good a description as any), Karin Dreijer has been performing as Fever Ray since 2009. “Radical Romantics” is their third album and naturally featured heavily throughout the 16 songs of the show. I’m not sure I selected the best numbers from the night but these are the four I decided upon beforehand:

A brilliant rendition of “Coconut” ended the performance. Wish now that I’d recorded it.

i was there and literally one of the best nights of my life! Found your video so I could relive it :) I was one of the people who first stood up during "Im not done". I was dancing by myself for a bit there lol...but that number was so damn good no one could contain themselves. Was a really powerful moment in the show :)
Yes, a great night. The back of the hall were all immediately up on their feet at the beginning of 'I'm Not Done'. It was an amazing sight. It took a little longer for the front seats to also rise but by the end of the song very few people anywhere were sitting. I was one of the few, trying not to move my camera to the music. Yes, it definitely was one the the highlights. I thought 'Coconut' was another highlight. I hadn't been expecting much from that song but the live version was really amazing.

I've seen them 6 times....3 times AMAZING ...... 3 times HORRIFIC, Adam was so drunk once he couldn't stand or sing. Another time someone spilled a drink from the mezzanine into the mixing board and delayed the start 1.5 hours, comes out and the first thing he says is"You can thank the asshole who spilled the drink for us cutting this short" played for 65-70 mins tops and talked to the paying customers as assholes. With that being said, You should know that the Counting Crows are in my top 20 ALL TIME. But really, Adam is a douche bag and I love seeing him getting old fat and balding !! The are hit or miss Live in my opinion, buyer beware !!

So far as I know, the League haven't made a proper video or audio recording of a live show since Brighton Dome in 2003.
This week they released "Sound of the Crowd - Greatest Hits Live in Concert". I don't know when or where it was recorded, research for you to do. I haven't listened to it all, just a couple of songs. Phil's vocals are a little 'off-putting' at times, but of course, this can be the case with many live recordings - they are neither the perfection of a studio production nor the raw excitement of being there on the night. Anyway, I thought the release was a nice coincidence arriving at the same time as your comment.
@@Peter_LiveMusic Oh yes, what a pleasant surprise! It's on Spotify. There isn't a video version, sadly, but that's the case with many artists in 2024. The decline of physical media - DVD & Blu Ray - has apparently led to an equal decline in professional recordings of shows. Perhaps there's no money in them any more, so we're limited to fans' uploads from their phones which are no substitute, especially the audio.

Had the pleasure of seeing him open for Canadian band The Dead South in 2022 here in the UK at Coventry's HMV Empire. I look forward to seeing him in the UK again, I'm keeping my eyes peeled. I know he joined the band again as their support on the Dead South's 2024 Australia/New Zealand Tour.
William is definitely great value live, whether with band or solo. I saw him earlier this year solo. He was touring here with his friend Beans on Toast. I believe they had just completed a UK tour together. Apparently, they do the join tour of both countries about once a year. It’s amazing how many comments reflect how I feel about this guy. Always throwing in to lend his voice to worthy causes. He’s been going strong, writing his own stuff since he’s been in the business. I named my son after him not only because it’s a great name but I wanted him to take his role on the planet seriously. There are few like Jackson Browne.

Yes, a great pity. That was the sound in the front row and why I won't pay extra money for front row seats at the Enmore anymore. At times, I couldn't even understand what Shane was saying. If you note, about half way through "Solid Rock", the sound quality improves dramatically. That's because I pinched the sound from another video also recorded that night but from about halfway back in the theatre. So clearly where I was sitting was not what most people heard. I've learnt that vocals are frequently lost when recorded at the very front. Anyway, thanks for commenting.
