Meanwhile,David was all crashing down due to using a top grade Sandy. Sandevistan is rarely used by Cyberpsychos and less used by veteran soldiers,and those mfs know that they can use it 2 times,3 times max per day,or they go slowly psycho. Meanwhile,David,who is also a satisfiser personality with a dark,PTSD'd mindset,he believes that he is gifted,but he is gushing liters of bloods out when he gets into the Cyberskeleton,overloading his mind that is already barely intact by that point. He is potentially gifted due to having a high pain threshold,for example,having his actual spine taken out without any sort of painkillers or sedating,plus as an organic cyberpunk,he was pretty active as a close quarters combatant. But his implants,being all decked out,like Maine,was too much for him,even.
The symbolism I got from that was of better times. Those sidewalks and streets took him home and to school. Now he's in a car chase fighting to save those he loves on those same streets
0:00 to 0:33 was so beautifully done. The music really sets the entire tone showing his usual route as a kid, transitioning day and night and showing him stop in the middle of the road literally on the edge of his sanity and cyber psychosis Gives me chills every time I watch that scene. 10/10
I just realized... David walking here contrasts from the earlier episode when David walks to the Arasaka Academy. However, here when he crossess the streets he stops in the middle. signifying that he's way too deep into his psychosis, unable to walk forward or move on. That scene represents David's own end of the line. 😢
It’s fitting that we start the show calmly exploring this world, and ended with one last race through it. I’ve always adored the concept of a final stand at the end of a show. One more mission. They executed it beautifully.
idk what it is about those first 34 seconds, but the hopelessness in the fact that he knows his life is over at such a young age, that it takes too long to become someone that you want to be, only being able to blame yourself, makes me wanna cry and gives me chills every time I see it
That wilderness David and Maine walked through psychologically. And in the end after walking or running (in Maines case) there was- Nothing. A vast, empty wildernesses. The light switch from night to day was an insight for the external world to his mind and he’s just walking, mindlessly, alone. Same as what we do in current society but perhaps it’s more mind-numbing than mind controlling though it can be that too.
I like how this is basically how David sees himself, human except for the Sandy which he considers a part of him now. Maine saw himself fully human and in sports gear.

Honestly.. if Adam smasher didnt put David down.. he would of become an absolute menace and walking disaster for Night City. Like i thought the guy who had David's sandevistan before david and Maine's cyberphosis were bad but David would of been way more of a headache with that anti gravity armor
David is special. He was able to control his cyberpsychosis due to Lucys emotional support. Right at the end he was alert and oriented. Thats what makes it tragic coz David could've been redeemed.
In the end, the lesson of this story is that a child's shallow wisdom will only destroy him. Adults know the value of talent better than children do, so they don't try to destroy David in a messy way. If they wanted to make him an instant plaything, they wouldn't have sent him back to school in the first place. Just get David and lock him up.
i wish the police were this dedicated in the game, i went on a rampage through the streets with just a machete and 700hp, slaughtering civilians, cops, turrets, everything i guess maxtac was on strike or something
Their enemy is all megacorps. Including Arasaka’s rivals. This is the message of Cyberpunk: no matter what megacorp you go after, another will swallow up its assets and still grind you down. They’re all enemies, and it’s an inescapable cycle.

It also doesn't help that arasaka manipulated the situation so they stole the Suit and fought militech first, expecting to have weakened him pretty badly by the time they show up
Is it me or does Militech seem like Microsoft and Arasaka seem like Apple in regard to their advancements in weaponry. Militech seems more concerned with a conventional military whereas Arasaka is trying to make a single person an army.
Its an homage to how buggy and messy the driving in the game is. We see it before when David hijacks the limusine, Trigger just made it part of the world.
