Patriots made the playoffs and Mac Jones made the pro bowl with McDaniels as OC and QB coach in 2021. I’d take him back… probably not as HC but in some offensive coaching role.
It's worth noting that after the Dolphins fired Philbin in 2015, they made Dan Campbell their interim head coach. A lot of Miami fans were hoping we stuck with him going forward because we saw all the same things we're seeing now in Detroit.

I call this the Norv Turner rule. Some people are great coordinators and terrible Head Coaches. I think Josh McDaniel needs to be a permanent OC/QB Coach and be content with that.

Norv Turner was another AWFUL Raiders coach! Got fired at the end of year 2 after 2005.
Same for Spagnuolo, great DC, tried HC, didn't work out, went back to DC and won two super bowls with the Chiefs

George Allen coached the LA rams from 1966 to 1970, coached the Washington Redskins 1971 to 1977 with a record of 116-47-5 he made a brief return to LA as coach in 1978,but was fired before the regular season. He is in the pro Football Hall of Fame, inducted in 2002

Out of curiosity, I Googled George Allen (it was super hard, I guess that's why no one on the show did it). George Allen coached Washington from 1970 - 1977, including a trip to the 1972 Super Bowl where they faced the undefeated Miami Dolphins. In 1978 he left Washington after spending the entire 1977 season refusing a new contract; he returned to the Los Angeles Rams for the third time in his coaching career, but was fired from Los Angeles during the 1978 pre-season because younger players did not mesh with his extremely disciplined coaching style. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.

It was the Rams that fired George Allen after two preseason games, not the Washington Redacted. He coached 7 full seasons with Washington. And was head coach of the Rams for a few years before that (the Rams firing him during preseason was his second stint there as HC)

George Allen is a redskins legend. He coached the rams, then left for Washington ( after Lombardi died) for a long time, then the rams for 2 pre season games.

We had a superbowl run if bissacia would've been hired as coach after picking up gruden pieces. Players loved him, fans loved him. We lost playoff game to Bengals but still loved how we ended and looked forward to next year. Anddddd mcdaniels came. Every fan heart dropped. Worst decision ever.

lol we never had a super bowl run with Carr at QB. I liked Bissacia but that year we were outscored by 70 points. When that happens you almost never make the playoffs. We played against teams with 2nd string QBs and got lucky to win a ton of very close games. We need a all pro QB if we are ever going deep in the playoffs. Carr was an average QB for us just about every year and he is an average qb according to every stat in New Orleans.

Sad thing is that the Raiders got their coaching situation right when the Bisa cci guy as the head coach. Let go after a playoff appearance to go for the over hyped Josh McDaniel. Everything immediately went south after that. Some organizations don't recognize good things when they have them

As a lifelong NYG fan, seriously pulling for Pierce. He was the heart and soul of our defense for the '07 run.
Raiders fan here, we're seriously pulling for him as well. Unfortunately McDaniels has left him a lot of problems which won't be turned around this season, and given that our last interim HC took us to the playoffs and then got shat on by Davis I don't see Pierce still being our HC next year. One thing I do see, though, is Pierce's leadership and the effect it's already having on the players and fans. He and the team aren't going to stop trying until the clock hits 00:00 in the season's last game. If Davis does crap on the dude I think Pierce could do a lot worse than reunite with the Giants., you guys could do with him.

There is a large Native American organization demanding that Washington return to Redskins. I used to have a good friend inMichigan who was 100% Native American and on the tribal board at the reservation who was a die hard Skins fan, strictly due to the name and logo.
Now they gonna be rebuilding AGAIN the next few years. Davante already said he doesn't want that, they gonna have to move him for players.
He grew up a raiders fan. I think he might stick around and help the team build around him and the others. It seems he wants the team to be better.
It’s not much of a rebuild, we have key players at positions, depending on what AOC does, we will likely need a QB possibly, build around the rest of the team. Defense is playing much improved as well.

Since 2010, the Raiders have had eight head coaches (2 interim). That’s a new head coach roughly every 1.75 years. That’s not a way to be successful in any sport let alone the NFL.

For some reason whenever I hear about the lv raider’s a song pops up in my mind from the rolling stones ?
I know it’s a whole ass job to get these clips rendered and uploaded but y’all really gotta be better, especially as of recent, these clips have been riddled with mistakes. 3/5th of the way into the video just stalls for like 50 seconds and doesn’t play anything. A bunch recently have just cut off at the end and showed “missing file”. Never seen it in anybody else’s clips and y’all have been doing this for a while. Excuses for mistakes should be going down not up

George Allen was head coach of the team that shall not be spoken for 7 years. He came on as a coach of the rams in 78, where he was fired two games into the season but he was a very successful coach in washington.
Sadly the Interim coaches (even the ones who win) rarely end up getting the HC job permanently during the off-season

That coaching graphic was wrong. George Allen was fired 2 preseason games into 1978 when he coached The Rams. He coached the Redskins from 1971-1977 and was relieved of his duties in January 1978. When he got the Rams job, his old school style didn't mesh well with players and he was fired that August.
Bring Gruden back. You want to win games or feel morally superior about emails. He's still on the payroll anyway
Gruden's record was 29-36 during his second stint with the Raiders. Not exactly what I'd consider a winner in my book.

I been a Raiders lifer since I was 10 years old. But this seasons been way to tough to watch. And even though I'm so freakin happy those guys are gone. It's like Davante said, it's no celebration at all. Still got alot of work to do. We'll get it back on track though. Raider Nation Forever Baby!! Keep up the fine work guys.
I’ve been a Raiders fan since Ken Stabler and Dave Casper. The last 20 plus years have been rough. They seam to want to be in continuous rebuilding mode. I was very not pleased when Josh was hired as head coach. Even more displeased when Derek Carr was bench and shipped out. I spent most the Detroit Monday Night game talking about how the roster is not that bad. They have some top notch talent on offense and defense. They are just not being used in the right way. Coaching issues! I was elated see that Josh was dismissed, better to get on with rebuilding again than that let the team suffer with poor performances and so much frustration. There was a time the Raiders dominated on Monday night. Please find a coach the players support. If the players are bought into the Coach they will give their all on the field and wins will naturally be the outcome. Then Monday Night games will be fun again.
Your story is just like mine, fan since 1973. Remember in the 80's we owned MNF! Our record was crazy, it was like an automatic "W" is we played on Monday night.
As you said, the last 2 decades have been painful, not just our W/L record but the HC and OC changes, some clownish players we dabbled with (Antonio B, Chandler J), Mark's decisions etc....time to turn it all around!!
