My unpopular opinion: I don't skip Me! while listening to Lover. I honestly really enjoy it. I know that it isn't lyrically Taylor's best song, but I still don't think it's a bad song. I feel like many swifties just hate being happy lol.

Lover is ok I far prefer Cornelia Street, Death by 1000 Cuts, Daylight and I also enjoy London Boy from the album. Folklore and Evermore have been favorites as far as albums with Red and Reputation nose to nose close seconds since their releases .My issues with most Taylors albums is I am generally not a huge fan of the first releases meant to simply top the charts and eventually be played continuously anywhere you find yourself. Her earliest albums did not get stuck in these eventually annoying ruts. After a year and a half or so some become enjoyable again. For example I adore the red album but could happily never hear We r never ever getting back together again. I already enjoy Red the song a great deal once again. Then I never truly enjoyed Never Ever and did Red. Also Red in entirety is an amazing album and I was just as disappointed as Taylor at it's loss at the Grammys. I really enjoy Rep but not Look What You Made Me Do. Me is my most disliked song from any Taylor Swift album. Then by following it by You Need To Calm Down terrified me that Lover would be a failure but realized I hadn't heard the beautiful ballads yet.
I'm really enjoying Midnights so far I recall before hearing it the way she described it was songs she came up with on several Midnights throughout the years which made me very excited to try and decide which songs were about which relationship. Maroon is my favorite so far! I feel it's about Jake and aside from her present relationship that was my favorite. while it was still going on and eventually was the muse for Red, an album with so many gorgeous songs. I wish it didn't have to end so gut wrenchingingly brutal. However then Red may not have been the masterpiece it is.
It annoys me so much when people think they are "better fans" because they have been fans for longer. I've been a HUGE fan ever since around 2 years ago, I can't even express my love for Taylor because it's so strong and I do not have the level of lyricism that she has. I know every single song by heart and listen to her every day. I think if you're a Swiftie then you're a Swiftie and you should always respect all other Swifties

It feels like some people are so in love with an artist but the one thing they see flawed about them is the fact that they're straight?? Like, there's nothing wrong with being straight! I get that sometimes it's hard to find representation in something you love, but there are so many wonderful lgbt+ artists and idols out there who you can love and support! As a swiftie, 1989 and folklore were really high on my favs list (album wise) but midnights blow me away. But whenever I say it’s my favorite album people think I’m a new Swiftie. I have been a swiftie sense the woom! (Not that there’s anything wrong with being a new Swifty) 💖

I couldn’t agree more about the “oh you’re new here…” I constantly see people saying others don’t deserve Eras tour tickets, or to have an opinion because they have been listening for a shorter period of time. I was like, idk, 8, when Lover came out and it made me fall in love with Taylor’s music. Lover is my favorite album (don’t come at me). I got back into Taylor’s music mid 2022 and I haven’t stopped being obsessed since. Yes I am going to the Eras tour, and I’m not going to apologize for going to a concert I really want to go to!

Actually, the line “with no one around to tweet it” is what makes me really love “the lakes”.
I personally relate to this, because once Taylor's image was falsely destroyed by Kanye West and she took a break for a year, no one has ever heard from her. And when she came back she became a more private person. (We barely now know anything about her and Joe and that's good because it's none of anyone's business)
I relate to that line because I thought Taylor was referring to herself becoming more private, and I'm someone who used to overshare his life 24/7 on social media. I deleted all of my socials, because I realized my privacy is more valuable than any amount of internet attention. It's shocking to acknowledge that swifties hate that line, because it's one of the reasons that made me fall in love with folklore.

I hate when veteran swifties beg for everyone around them to be converted to swifties yet complain about the new swifties. Like isn't it good that people enjoy her? Me personally the first two albums I listened to in full were reputation and lover so maybe I can't complain about the veteran swifties 😭. I actually like the term senior swifite, but I also love that newer fans are discovering her music! It doesn’t matter if you started listening during Debut or Midnights, new fans are just as special 😊 but I just find it easier to connect with people who are usually around my age who grew up listening to baby Taylor in middle and high school!

French swiftie here! I started listening to Taylor around the time IKYWT was released (2012) cause that's the first song of hers that made it onto French radio stations. I'd say I really started considering myself a fan when 1989 came out and I LOVED that album so much. At that point, I tried listening to the previous ones (before RED) and I honestly didn't like them very much, except for maybe 3-4 songs on each. That's just because the style was very different from 1989/RED and I just didn't (and still don't) enjoy it as much. I still think they are good, just not what I prefer. Anyway, after 1989, every single album that came out became my favorite. Why ? because I felt like I was growing WITH her music evolving, and that is such a cool thing to me. I have LOVED every single album so so so much after each release, and it's without surprise that Midnights is my fave now. (with Folklore and Lover as the others in my top 3) There is no shame in that, I actually think it's such a cool thing that my favorite singer is consistent in making music that magically happens to fit my exact tastes in every single era of my life, and I think (or at least hope) that many fans feel the same. I cannot fathom how loving her more recent albums over Debut/Fearless etc. would mean that you're not a real fan. Veteran swifties who still claim Debut is their fave and look down on anyone who doesn't know every single lyrics from her older albums annoy me SO. MUCH. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. For the thing about "senior swifties" even though I came from 1989 era I don't mind people being proud of it. Seeing other artists I've been with from the beginning is such a good feeling to see them grow and I think it's okay to be proud of it but I don't think it's okay to imply you're better than newer fans because of it.

2. when swifties act like different to people based on if they like taylor swift or not. LIKE WHAT??? i legit love taylor swift but its ok not to like her (its wrong lol but still) that shouldn't be like a make or break thing when it comes to being nice to someone

what annoyed the fuck out of me on Rep Tour (the only concert I could afford to go to, so I can’t really speak on the others) was how many swifties were so eager to get into Rep Room and trying so hard to be noticed by TN that they followed people around, hunted down Andrea and TN, we’re annoyingly loud and tried to take up as much space as humanly possible to get noticed. None of them were really enjoying the show or being connected to the music it was all about TN and Rep Room.
100%, a lot of people are very extra at Taylor concerts in order to get backstage. And unfortunately, I feel like that’s gonna be a big thing at the eras tour😫

wait there's people that hate lover? that's one of my favorites edit: I didn't get into Taylor until literally a week ago tbh. A new friend of mine was absolutely shocked when I told her I wasn't a taylor hater but I didn't really care for her music bc i'd only heard a few of the more prominent songs over the years and got very burnt out on the ones I did enjoy. She sent me a playlist and not long after I watched some of the clip compilations of interviews/random moments from over the years and now I absolutely adore Taylor and her music and I think i'm still too new to even call myself a swiftie or anything but i'm borderline obsessed with her music and her as a person rn.
