I just ordered the Z8 on sale as an upgrade to my Z6 (which I will keep for low light). I got tired of waiting on the Z6iii.
Yes the delays with the Z6III are frustrating.

@@hanns1401 I was talking to a salesperson at my local camera store this week, and they expect it to be imminent, since they have basically stopped ordering Z6II cameras. While the salesperson would not have the inside information, the store 'buyer' would know. Kind of like Ricci having gear months in advance.

HI Nice video once again! Great content, Thanks... But The best sensor will be the IQ4 PhaseOne ...Still bigger, the tricromat has a similar MP count, and also BSI... and there are true aonochrome and "standard" CMOS variants both @150MP....

Over here in Germany the sales promotion for the Z8 ends at July, 22nd. Not sure if that means we won`t see a Z6iii or Z7iii until this date. There were speculations that the Gen3 will materialize somewhere around August (I guess @lastXwitness predicted it in his 2023 year end video). I still wonder what advancements they make with Gen3. Most likely to me would be a new EVF or a completely new and very fast sensor. Now with Global Shutter coming into play you have to provide a future proof chip if the release cycle switches to 4 years. In four years from now, a standard BSI sensor (speed and resolution) will appear like something from the stone age.
So my best guess is a fast stacked sensor in the Z6iii at least. 24MP doesn't impact the Z8 / Z9 sales as much as a newly developed +60MP stacked sensor in a Z7iii would. Maybe Nikon will adress slow photography with a high megapixel non-stacked sensor in a Z7iii and a contender to the A9iii with a very fast (stacked or global sensor) in the Z6iii for action.

I have just ordered the Viltrox 16mm/f1.8 with Z mount as it has received excellent reviews, I already have the Viltrox 85mm also with Z mount and I am very excited about it. I also wanted the Viltrox 35mm/f1.8, but it's not very good based on the tests I've seen on CZcams, so I bought Nikon's own 35mm/f1.8 just to make sure it met my requirements .
Look also at Z7II US prices. $2K vs $2.8K for the Z7. 😮
M1 Mac mini user here,Matt ,for last 3.5 years and its still very very good.Your machine is excellent but there was no M3 Mac mini so I think it will come as an M4...I'll be keen as long as price isnt outlandish.Thanks for reporting this.

The Megadap EF to Z adapter might be useful for EF-mount cinema lenses. Most are manual focus, but if the aperture and focusing information can be passed to the Nikon [RED?] camera, that could be convenient.

😮 that’s a great deal! Here in Mexico the absolute cheapest you can find it, discount included, is about 6,000 Canadian or about 4,400 American
The cost of the new Z system ie, Z8 & Z9 plus a basic 3 or 4 lenses is costing the average photog a kidney and a mortgage to buy. Nikons D850 price a few years ago was a much more realistic price range. And, you could still use your legacy lenses. I’ve been using Nikon cameras all the way back since the early 80’s. Blah blah blah rant rant rant 😂😅 love your photography Matt and your books mate !
Nikon is becoming boring. It’s been a while without new lenses; third party manufacturers are more active 😮.
28-400? Maybe offer me a freelance job to keep you busy and help me get back on track in life and maybe one day get a Zf? Maybe it's time you don't need a new camera to capture story but an action to push more stories in people life like mine? :-)
I'm (impatiently) awaiting the 35 1.2 z but i find the comment perplexing that nikon has become boring, they have been killing it. Big sales so probably trying to clear some stock for new stuff...
That's a typical phenomenon. People only see the "halo" products and forget about the less shiny stuff. A Z6iii and the long awaited 1.2/35mm and suddenly Nikon is back again for those who are now complaining...
I am an apsc user, 😂 i cant affor full frames....but from what i have seen nikon lenses are sharp and nikon sensor outperform canon's in low light performance... I have personally seen canon perform bad in indoor party scenes,birthdays etc..while nikon performs better.....
I have used canon for more than 10 years from dslr era to mirrorless....
Now using nikon for more than 3 years......
