I made the most delicious soup tonight: courgette (zucchini), red bell pepper, onion, broccoli, all roasted (not until dark), added chicken stock, garam masala, cumin, thyme leaves, a chunk of ginger root about 1cu in. Removed ginger, cooked till very soft, pureed in blender, added table cream (18%). Just needed to use up my vegetables. Astoundingly delicious.

I also have my children’s baby books though mine are red. I’ve also kept their hospital security bracelet tags and their first little woolly hat that was put on them when they were born. I’m a sentimental thing in so many ways 😃

Hi, Jane ! Courgettes are really nice with garlic and then battered . Obviously not healthy but a yummy treat. I'm your daughter s age and learning so much from you❤
That sounds delicious! I often cook them simply with a little butter and garlic, but haven't tried putting them in batter.

What an incredible walk you were on Jane, just beautiful. I do hope your daughter is on the mend. Well done on the decluttering, whenever I move I start to feel very overwhelmed with it all but once you start and do small bits its amazing what you can get done! I'm so looking forward to seeing where you will be living next Jane.

I don't use a shredder. Instead I tear paper into pieces and then toss in water and let soak. Then I bunch into ball, wring and toss out. When dry it is a hard compact ball that has lost most of it's ink. Thanks for the walking tour. Wishing you well with your move.
Thank you. What do you use the balls of paper for? I’m thinking firefighters?
@@ShoestringJane I just toss them out but I guess you could use them as fire starters if you rolled them into tubes. As I don't have a fireplace, I wouldn't know if this would be safe for a chimney. Food for thought.

Jane I do love this video, so sensible and full of interest as always. Thank you for the walking tour of the area in which you live. The beauty of the architecture of the stunning homes and landscape you meandered through was quite breathtaking, and such a contrast in style to where we live in South Australia where most homes are single story brick or stone with colour bond roofing mainly, apart from the. older homes with cement tiles roofing. Archie just melts my heart watching him with you and has me reaching for a cuddle with my Alice.......who wants the cuddle to drag on and on. Your evening meal looked delicious with those crispy air fried potatoes. I don't eat meat but I would have devoured the rest. I also made bread and butter pudding last night for tea, and we have leftovers tonight. I included sultanas and chopped apple in mine. We drizzle (swamp!!) it with cream.🐾🥰
I love bread and butter pudding! It is a lovely area - I appreciate having it nearby. Give Alice a cuddle from me :)

Congratulations! Maybe when you are decluttering you could give the kids things like Christmas ornaments, etc. Also, you can use old tissue paper and Christmas paper to wrap things in. For your bootsale are you going to thin out your stock of unsellables? Have fun!

The agent said the market is so buoyant not to even worry about doing minor stuff. I think the bubble might burst soon though
@@ShoestringJane I've got a half finished bathroom which I'm not in a position to get finished at the moment, I guess the best thing to do is get the estate agents out see what they say so I know what to and what not to spend money on getting done.

Congratulations on selling and buying a new house! Hope everything goes well. I am so envious of your walking trail, it looks so flat and easy to walk, I have hills to climb and descend where ever I go! 😅 Is that one of the things you looked at, when searching for a new house?
It's all pretty flat in East Anglia - good for cycling too (Justin does that, not me :)
