VW Golf R in 2025 is more brainier and buffered

Following a preview earlier this month, Volkswagen has revealed the facelifted Golf R and Golf R Variant. They mix fresh technology with improved styling and enhanced performance.The range-topping Golf R has a revised front end with simplified headlights and an illuminated Volkswagen emblem, much as the Golf GTI. A fresh bumper joins them, looking a little more forceful.Turning rearward, you find stylish side skirts, matte chrome mirrors, and 18-or 19-inch wheels. Along with a gloss black diffuser and a four-tailpipe exhaust system, the vehicle also sports fresh taillights. Volkswagen says the sound of the later has been "further developed to enhance the acoustic feedback and... motorsport feel of the car." New 19-inch Warmenau manufactured alloy wheels, which only weigh 17.6 lbs (8 kg) each, are available to customers seeking a sportier look. Their about 20% less weight than conventional wheels helps to lower unsprung mass. Volkswagen also claimed that their open shape enhances brake cooling. Regarding choices, the Golf R can have enhanced IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, an Akrapovič titanium exhaust, and new 3D LED taills with a dynamic flashing capability. Additionally available to consumers is a Golf R Black Edition with dark emblems, darkened headlights, and a range of black parts including the wheels, brake calipers, and exhaust tips. Standard with the Black Edition also comes the Performance package.
The Golf R gets a new 12.9-inch infotainment system, hence the improvements keep within. Apart from having a bigger show, the system boasts better visuals and a redesigned menu layout.
Drivers sticking with displays will discover they are staring at a "enhanced" 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. For models with the Performance package, it now has G-meter and GPS lap timer displays.
Other upgrades abound elsewhere, including better climate control and a sport-steering wheel with "optimized" buttons. Along with access to ChatGPT, consumers will also find a new IDA voice assistant.
Apart from the modern conveniences, the Golf R boasts sport seats and imitation carbon fiber trim. Additional highlights are stainless steel pedals, blue accents, and a 30-color ambient lighting system.
