I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 15 years and been singing since I was 16. I teach from my own studio and also teach and mentor via email, and online via Live & Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. It was like a drunk friend arriving in the pub and not realising how loud their singing. Melody pls sing the melody ONLY
There have been multiple explanations for this mess:
1. In 2006, the original press release was that Melody had a back injury and couldn't do the dancing, only coming in at the end.
2. Recently, Carmit (the redhead) said that Melody lost her passport and wasn't able to rehearse the dance moves with them in Europe, so sat out until the end.
3. The fan consensus is that Melody was supposed to perform, got into a fight with Nicole so sat out in protest, and then stormed the stage at the end to make a point since it was probably an argument over the inequality within the group i.e anyone who wasn't Nicole got nothing. It's not the first time Melody would have outbursts on stage.
4. The joke explanation is that Nicole locked Melody in the dressing room so she couldn't do those awful ad libs, and Melody busted free at the last moment just in time to do them anyways LOL.

The first two explanations (that it was always the intention, that Melody should come on stage near the end of the performance) kinda sound iffy to me, considering just how much she was over singing the last part and basically ruining the performance. Also the fact they have two different explanations, that say basically the same thing. Why not just stick with one??
The fan explanation sounds a lot more plausible, although I definitely prefer the joke one 😄

Fame is a bitch, that’s why the best singers in the world aren’t on the top ten, the people who make the most high end videos aren’t the top youtubers, on and on with everything, artists who aren’t as good as others being huge. That’s why appeal is so important, gimmicks, personality...
This is how not to prove that you deserve more vocals in a group.
So sad, I loved the dolls. I know Melody had major issues with Nicole because she was singing a lot of the belty parts and wasn’t getting recognition she thought she deserved. That kinda explains the stunt she pulled here.

True. It probably wasn't fair how Nicole got most of the fame and attention with the Pussycat Dolls, but I still think Melody's behaviour during this performance was a bit juvenile. Like Georgina said at the beginning of the video: keep the drama off the stage. Bringing whatever squabbles you might have with your bandmates onto the stage is incredibly unprofessional and will often only make yourself look worse.
Nekhet yeah, and like Jose said she sounded terrible to boot. Nicole’s face didn’t even look like she was fazed. She always knew that the act was for her. She is the only one with a career a decade later after all.
I think the worst are the "fans" of the group. She do not sound excellent is true. But to be fair it must be hard for the 6 . And the after all that drama the so call fans of the group putting the girls down. Some girls have n°1hits on billboard. And I guess if the original line up have gotten the chance to have tracks as a lead ( like in the kpop formarions were the leads and formation are switch in the group) all those girls will be having more success

Nicole has always been one of my favourite performers. She is just the full package - she has a BEAUTIFUL voice (not necessarily demonstrated in her pop songs - although still amazing), dances fantastically and is just gorgeous to boot! She's really special.

I re-watched the video and i noticed a couple of imperfections apart from the chair shamble. I noticed that when they were leaning on the bar Jessica couldn't properly move her leg up cuz the bar was too short and Ashley and Carmit locked legs/shoes while raising their legs....It seemed that Carmit was going for the extended leg (like in the video) but i guess she didn't have enough room.

Melody has always said she wasn’t a dancer she’s a vocalist... so this shows she was pissed off that Nicole did all the vocals... I love melody but come on who can compete with Nicole ? Only a few x

I honestly think that they would be better as 5 members, Melody was only there to ruin the performances with a bunch of messy ad-libs, lol. She wasn't a good dancer, was not a good vocalist (she's far from that) even though this was her role in the group, Carmit should've been the 2nd vocalist.

the others could sing as well, they all had solo music after PCD. And Nicole never had to share anything, she was de leader, lead singer and the others were just dancers basically. The girls already said that Nicole was super controlling
Not true - all of them except Kim were singers. Even worse is that their initial performances had Carmit, Melody and another girl named Kaya Jones singing whole verse in songs before Nicole took over as sole singer.
Nah all of them can sing, Jess is one of the better vocalist in the group actually but was never given the opportunity because of Nicole
Poor Nicole 😂😂😂 Nicole somehow ended up being "poor" and unlucky though, because she followed in the footsteps of Destiny's Child, in the sense that Nicole was meant to be the solo artist since the very beginning and used the group as a platform on which she could be pointed out in every possible way, the other girls were decoration around the one and only star, however she failed in her attempt to become a Beyoncé. Her solo career was a disaster.

I believe Nicole's just typical singer. It's very hard to sing and dance the same time, but we all know Nicole sings very well.
The "rumor" was that Melody wasn't feeling too well that night, so she decided to stay on the side line til her part came up at the end. I still like that PCD performance though.

Actually Carmit also had solo's and ad libs on a couple of the tracks, Tainted Love, I Don't Need A Man and Beep just to name a few. She just wasn't always credited properly.

The reason all of the other girls lip synced was because all the vocals on the album were Nicole Scherzinger’s with the exception of the occasional Melody vocal.
People complaining about Nicole being front and center all the time. The woman is freaking talented and charming.
