Lightning Rod - Review (Dollywood) (2016-2023)

In this coaster review, I discuss the roller coaster that I have ridden more times than any other, Lightning Rod at Dollywood. This was my favorite roller coaster for over 4 years, but does it still stack up now? Enjoy!

When riding LRod, I definitely noticed the pot hole and my brother did too. For me, it didn’t really take away from the ride experience, but for my brother he said it took so much away from the middle of the layout. Imo, Lrod is still an amazing ride though

Lightning Rod is my 2nd favorite RMC out of 23 and 2nd favorite overall out of 690. It is only outranked by Iron Gwazi. I've only ridden it since 2019 but to me it runs just as good as it did with the all wood track. Even though it can be a pain to get on, it's always a treat when it has a short wait and stays open so you can marathon it over and over!

Agree with pretty much all your points. I’ve ridden it over 100 times over the years and it is still elite for me even with the changes. 5/573 credits
