I think the merger won't create a monopoly. You really only have an overlap in LA area, Dorney/Gra Adv both which have plenty of people in those areas where you can run both parks. Also KD.SFAm are close. But in every case you have other parks in these markets. If you go to a lot of parks I think a combined pass could be a good thing. I think they can also create market passes for those in southern California, NJ/PA, etc. We should start seeing things happen in about 9 months if everything gets approved so it will be interesting to see what directions they go.
In terms of flat rides: 1. Spin Cycle (Silverwood) 2. Demon Drop (Dorney Park)- since I don't count it as a coaster 3. Dark Castle (Phantasialand) 4. Talocan (Phantasialand) 5. Screamin Swings (BGT, BGW, SWSA, CP, Dollywood, FSA, SDC, ValleyFair) Honorable Mention- Donnorbalken (Tripsdrill) & Giga Zamperla Discoveries (Multiple Parks- I like the ones at SFMM & SFFT the best.

The financial outlook for both reminds me a bit of an infamous rail merger in the 60's between NYC's two major rail operators (the Pennsylvanian Railroad, who served Penn Station along with their Long Island RR subsidiary) and New York Central (who served Grand Central)-however there were some bureaucratic issues and required to acquire other bankrupt railroads in the region. The Merger concluded in February 1968 and took on the Penn Central ($PC) on the stock exchange (which is basically saying Cedar Flags ($SF)

2:35 imagine if this goes well and the company finally adds a park in Orlando because neither Cedar Fair or Six Flags have a park in the Orlando area currently.

Technically, at least until maybe Wednesday, Cincinnati owns a rail line all the way the way to Chatanooga so Kings Island is really only a few towns over from Lake Winnie. The city owns the land and leases operations so I guess that technically counts as city limits
