My favorite thing about this performance? The fact that I can hear Avi's influence on every student there, you can hear his voice through them. ♥️

I’m so happy you’re back to doing Avi reactions! I’d love to hear your thoughts on the music video for Quarter Past Four sometime!
Not sure if it was answered in the chat but there’s a clip from one of Avi’s live streams when he sings part of it.

Add your name to the long list of Avi fans who want to hear him record this song! It’s phenomenal! He has sung a part of it on a livestream before, but hadn’t played it in a long time and forgot the words, LoL. I really hope he releases an acoustic version when it finally gets recorded.

Avi hasn't recorded this - he tried to sing it once on a livestream but forgot the words! I would love to hear him doing it justice. It's such a fabulous song.
The singers got emotional not only because of the beauty of the song but also because this was the end school concert and they would all be going their own way after it.
You might be interested to hear a video from a few years ago of Avi demonstrating how to put an audition tape together for the Academy. He beatboxes in it!
The sheet music for this song is available from Rob Dietz for a reasonable price.

This song gives me chills every time !! Not only because it's beatifully sung and the beautiful lyrics , but it always brings me to tears because of the loss of one of the singers ,
who died 2 years ago in his sleep (front row ,5th from the left ) .He was a very talented boy (singer, songwriter) and was beatboxing in the group "Acapop! KIDS" ( co-founded by Scott Hoying).
Acapop! KIDS is a very talented acapella group and did a lot of covers like Shallow, High Hopes, Fix You, Sunflower and many more . Maybe you can react to one in honor of Nolan Gibbons
( there is also a tribute video for him (czcams.com/video/Rm3U_VeggYY/video.html&ab_channel=Acapop%21KIDS)

You're right when you're in a choir in a large setting it is mindblowing!!!
I got to sing at a university building full of singers with Jester Harrison. It was unbelieveable!!!

OMG -- I got to sing in a choir with 1500 students and Jester Harrison as the maestro. My senior year of high school, 1964. I'll never forget that sound. Each one of us felt as if we were plugged into the universal vibration. I could feel it in my bones. Haven't thought of that day often in the decades since, but the name, Jester Harrison, caught me up in memories.

Avi was there. He teaches every summer with the Academy. They even kept going virtually during the pandemic.
He hasn't recorded the song himself yet. Although he has sung it with Rob Dietz (the conductor here) accompanying when they introduced it to the students that they would be singing it at the concert that summer.
This is sung all over the world
Here is a performance by a choir in Utrecht in the Netherlands

Yes it was in a vlog from one of the kids, right? I wish that could be clipped and isolated for a separate video!

Here's the vlog you were talking about. I'm not knowledgable on clipping sections from videos, so this is the whole thing. It's very interesting to watch Christian's journey through Day 1 at ACA, but to see and hear Avi and Rob perform "The Seed" at the orientation, skip ahead to 10:05. The two of them co-arranged the final product for the showcase, and it's Rob conducting the choir. Avi did try to do the song himself a year or two ago when it was requested in a livestream, but he forewarned us that he wasn't going to remember all the lyrics, and he was right, lol. Here's the link for the duet: czcams.com/video/yL1hHXzltRE/video.html

Ben Bram did and does a LOT of arranging for PTX but he and Avi knew each other before PTX>
Avi was known as Bass Canon Kaplan in college, and it was Ben whom Scott Hoying called looking for a fabulous bass for the group. Ben came through Big Time with Avi.
Avi had just received the position of Basso Profundo for the L.A. Opera House the day before Scott called him.
Avi walked away from opera which was never his goal though classically/operatically trained. He just wanted to learn
how to properly use his voice.

Generally, when Avi is asked to sing this he has not brought the words with him and he cannot remember them off the top of his head. I have heard him try and he always get some words mixed up.
He once said he would have never been able to become Bar Mitzva had he not been able to sing it.
My opinion, but he is THE singer/songwriter of our time.
