Vector K10 - Black Ops 2 Weapon Guide

This time, we're covering the Vector K10.
A modern SMG design, first seen in Modern Warfare 2 and unlocked at level 16 in Black Ops 2 multiplayer.
The Vector K10 is an American weapon, manufactured by Kriss USA.
The original Vector was introduced in 2006, and the K10 variant in 2011 - although the in-game model does seem to reflect the earlier design.
The Vector SMG is based around a unique recoil reducing action, the KRISS Super V System.
Despite being chambered for the powerful .45 ACP cartridge, muzzle climb is kept to a minimum, as the force of the recoil is diverted to counteract any alteration in aim.
The net result is a powerful weapon, that despite having a high cyclic rate can remain stable under automatic fire.
In-game however, damage is low: you'll need 4 shots to kill up close, or 3 where one shot is a headshot.
The Vector's paltry range means your damage quickly evaporates at a middle distance, where you'll need 6 shots to kill - damage is not this weapon's strongest suit.
Penetration is also low, as with most of the SMGs.
The Vector's rate of fire is an asset, however - with the weapon spewing up to 940 rounds per minute towards your target.
Rapid fire takes this to 1250 rounds per minute, although this comes at the cost of increased recoil, decreased range - and worse hipfire spread.
Unusually, the select-fire mode on the Vector will fire two rounds per burst instead of 3, and will do so with a favourable fire rate and surprising accuracy.
Of course, the low damage means you'll need at least two bursts to kill - so automatic fire might be better suited for most.
Hipfire performance is on par with the other SMGs, proving particularly formidable even without the laser sight.
Few weapons can compete with the Vector's output at a close range.
Recoil is moderate but manageable - despite its recoil-mitigating technology, you may have some issues tackling targets at a long range.
Although it is the lack of damage that generally proves more bothersome than any handling trait.
Aim time is quick, at just 200 milliseconds - and movement speeds are top-tier, at 100 percent.
Magazine capacity is good, although four rounds shy of the MP7, at 36 rounds.
This is more than enough for most engagements, and will even prove sufficient when tackling two or more enemies in most cases.
Extended clip takes this to 48 rounds total, and will extend your supply accordingly - and reloads are sufficiently quick, at just 2 seconds for a tactical reload.
The Vector K10 is a weapon with balanced traits that performs very well in close-quarter gunfights.
It combines a rapid rate of fire with consistent handling, for more reliable performance than most other weapons within its effective range.
While some weapons might have the edge in damage up-close, few will perform as reliably from the hip as a fast-firing weapon such as the Vector.
Outside of a close-range, however, the Vector starts to lose its charm - its meagre range and moderate recoil will conspire to severely hamper your performance from a middle range out.
You might find tackling groups of enemies challenging, too - with a large number of shots required to kill, it can be difficult to direct your fire in time to repel three determined attackers.
Still, within a stealth role you should be seeking single, unprepared foes only - and it is rarer that you'll run into larger clusters of enemies if you maintain a degree of caution.
With a suppressor, the Vector is an ideal stealth SMG - with consistent damage and reliable close-quarter performance, it is not a weapon that will fail you unexpectedly.

Ahoy is a great player, but you have to admit his enemies are crap.
Nah, they're just as good as him, it's just the lag compensation favouring Ahoy makes the opponents look like they're a second behind - therefore making everyone look bad when in reality he probably shot him 15 times.
It could also that he just selects clips where he doesn't constantly die

Also has inconsistent damage at close range, 4 shots to kill. Pumped half a mag in a guy standing right next to me he didnt die. so again another wonderful cod gun that decides for itself if and when it works.

I always love coming back to these videos to refresh whenever I start playing Cod again. This class setup with a few of my personal tweaks, and I'm wrecking people, getting huge flanks, devastating the enemy team. It's a fucking shame they made the vektor dual wield only in AW, that was fucking stupid, they're useless turds now😫

what I don't like about these videos they may be helpful but that's if your lvl 55 or max lvl with the gun no tips if your low level like if you prestige :I
Just keep levelling up man, I'd advise doing combat training if ur really that bad otherwise domination or free for all is good for xp as well.
but in combat training its full of people using msmc's and getting vtol warships so I don't play that but then I can do ok inside tdm but pretty good at ctf but I don't play ctf because all my teammates suck! I say im watching the flag then guess what im the last person and there is 6 guys coming to wreck my face and we lose like that huh I should play with lots of friends more :I
Erik Carey I was just like you for ages until I discovered search and destroy it gives you loads of xp and teaches you to play more defensive and that's what you need to lvl up BTW id avoid CTF if I were u

Search and destroy is also really good for xp like the other guy said. I mean you get tons of Xp just for killing one person, even if you kill 1

This is my favorite SMG. I used to hate this gun but I started to warm up to it.
Liked this gun in MW2, and I certainly enjoy it in BO2. I use a similar class in the video in Hardcore game modes, but the changes I made:
-Remove the Suppresor on the Kap-40
-Removed Dead Silence and Perk 3 Greed.
-Added a Stock on the Vector
-Used Tactician and ran a Black Hat.
A fun flanking class that can hunt down campers and give me an idea where the enemies are spawning.
great gun. I used it at about level 22 and since I have leveled up fast. I recommend it if your just getting started and then a dsr50 or ballista as secondary weapon

Foregrip and long barrel very underrated on this weapon. It makes the vector on par with the Assault rifles with these attachments.
Ahoy Stu, I absolutely love your work on the COD weapon guides from CoD: MW to Black Ops 2. They are fantastic in detail and presention it's all very cleverly done, but I do have 1 quick possibly asinine question, why have the actual damage figures been omitted in the black ops 2 weapon guide series?

Despite not having Ghost Unlocked yet, I gave this class a go & went 26-1 in TDM on Stand Off. Had to equip Lightweight to replace ghost & had to rely on a unsupressed Kap-40 one my Vector went dry, but this Class was still effective never the less.

Very cool. Like I said, keep it up. It's a lot of fun. And it's great reading some of the classics in the original text. I've done Homer, Euripides, and Thucydides, and I am currently doing Plato. In terms of larger structure and character, Greek and English are quite similar, even though in terms of morphology, they are radically different.
I love the vector powerful with that 45ACP round. They also can be chambered in 9mm and I think there is a 32 acp version to. But this gun is nasty is CQB maps.
Vektor with your favourite optic surpressor and grip, makes this gun beast but is amazing for any SMG

When I used to have a Xbox 360 and had only just started playing. ahoy was where I good from I just wish bo2 never when out it was so good
Toughness reduces visible gun kick - that's something, and it can help you stay on target.
Dexterity allows you to shoot faster after sprinting, and you can mantle and climb objects faster - that's something.
Bravo XboxAhoy! I love your vids and this time i couldn't agree with you more on your class build. Except i scrapped a secondary for a launcher and grenade. C4 comes in handy with multiple foes and a launcher to eradicate killstreaks. I also use engineer in place of dead silence to complete sitrep pro from mw3 and mw2!

I think the TAC45 was made to be a secondary weapon for this gun. This gun's low damage and range paired with the .45's better damage and range make the perfect combination for dominating the enemy team on small maps.
Suppressor, Laser Sight and Fore Grip is my attachments for this gun. helps out for both aiming (iron sight is excellent) and Hip Fire when I have the laser sight
