Great review! I was very interested in this product and I am glad your through review mentioned the shadow corners, as that makes me hesitant to actually buy now...
Glad it was helpful!
I'm honestly thinking of modifying with some white watercolor paint to increase opacity around the little dark notches and make it sort of fade into the corners at full brightness. Hopefully. Because I want them to accent a whitewashed wooden hexagonal mirror anyway I feel it's a happy accident from production that I can easily address. Of course many others might not want to do that seeing the price but that's why I want to just layer on some white watercolor, detach the panels later on and wipe down with a gentle warm solution and any experimenting can be remedied
I was totally sold on these, and ready to purchase today!!! However, when you showed the shadwoed corner issue, I've decided that I'm not so hot on them now. I'll pass on this product.
I'm glad to have found your review - saved me the disappointment. Cheers, mate.
Glad I could help!
Great review! Thanks for the demo!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review. I'm definitely getting this 😍
Cheers! Hope you enjoy them!
I installed them yesterday because of your video. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I have 13 and plan on purchasing 6 more because I feel they will be discontinued because of the corner complaints. I don't care about the corners because I understand how injection molding works, and I rather have dark tips verse a bezel. I absolutely love them in my wood/plants-based living room. This product is perfect in my opinion.
Glad I could help
I'm in the market to get some room upgrades. Thank you for the video, and excellent quality.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Super Helpful! Thanks Shawn!
Thank you so much for this thorough review. I really like this, but I would like it to have more color options.
Green or blue comes to mind.
All kinds of orange just isn't enough.
As in green or blue timber patterns?
Wow!! I like the wood finish of the hexagon and the different color temperature to choose! It would totally fit into muji concept housings! 🤩
Thanks 🙏🏼 yeah it looks great
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!
These are the first Nanoleafs that I really like! But they are extremely expensive and I feel like for that price, they should have real wood veneer. Also it’s a shame that they don’t come in different sizes like the Nanoleaf Shapes. I think that would add more variety to the pattern! But really, the price is ridiculous: the Shapes are okay at €180 for nine hexagons. But the Elements are €230 for just seven hexagons!
Yes the prices are abit funny when you compare them to the Shapes, the Shapes even has more lighting options hahah
get yo money up broke aathhhh boyyy
Nice review, thank you.
Cheers!
Amazing review!
Glad you think so!
Nice! Your shirt matches the wood aesthetic
I KNOW RIGHT! hahaha 🤣
Can those leaf touch for on/off too like their previous model ?
Nice video, tx 😁
Cheers!
Hi Shawn! May I know what camera and lens you are using? 🙏🏼😀
Typically I'm shooting on an A7R3 with a Tamron 17-28mm lens or the 28-75mm lens. :)
@@ShawnKoh thanks man! Love your visual and content 😬
Hello, does the A/C cord detach? How long is the cord?
2.5m
In NZ they're absurdly overpriced. $400 on site for the starter kit, $430 in stores...
Cool
Do I have to use all of the hexagons im for it to be able to work?
No, it works with any number of hexagons, however there is an upper limit of hexagons before you'll need to add another power supply :)
@@ShawnKoh okay gotchu, Thank youu!!
can i connect them with the shapes theoretical?
I had that same question to the brand, in theory yes you can because they use the same connectors, but the operations and functions might be limited as the Shapes is a color (RGB) panel whereas the elements are just bi-color panels. So I'm not sure how the panels will communicate :)
Did you find them distracting having them behind the TV?
Not really, I think having a low brightness glow behind helps to give to make the light more gentler on your eyes, so that the light from the TV isnt the main source that hurts your eyes :) just my own opinion :)
@@ShawnKoh What you said is exactly true from my experience. I can't speak to the Nanoleaf, but I've been using the Luminoodle USB TV bias lighting (super cheap in comparison) and the soft backlighting it provides around the screen makes it much more comfortable to watch in low light situations.
The price is stupidly high here in Ontario
I do not deny that the prices are high for these products, but then again there isn't a competitor out there that has matched their features and branding. So unless another brand can compete with them, prices are gonna stay that way :)
@@ShawnKoh 👍
Does this sync with music?
Yeap, like all Nanoleaf hexagons, they have music sync which allows the lights to follow the beat of the music :)
Holy shit!!
Can u wall mount this?
I believe you mean screw mount? Yes the mounts have an option to be drilled into the wall.
trying to figure out if Elements Wood supporting circadian lightning?
Perhaps a question for the brand hahah I'm no expert on the product :)
It’s over $400 bucks. 😵💫
Yeap
Nice, but less background music next time, please.
Hahah thanks for the feedback! Will take note!
