Actually, Dimensity 1000+ can be decided as a midrange chipset and that's the magic 😁 because phones with Snapdragon Midrange 5G chips cost as much as this.
Other Dimensity processors (like 700 series or 800 series) are good enough too. 👍
Few days ago I saw a speed test between Snapdragon 865 and Dimensity 1000 plus, it was very much neck and neck, so yes, Dimensity 1000 plus is a true flagship chipset from Mediatek 😊😊
The only time I have felt the back of any of my phones is day one when I got them out of the box before I put on the tpu case. Plastic is a better idea than glass. Lighter and cheaper reads better to me.
From my experience, plastic back just get scratches easier than glass even with case on. My Samsung A50's back is so full of micro scratches even when I put it in case 99% of the time.

@@mikecar52 Well, it is relevant if you want to resell that phone at a higher price. Buyers will pay higher for phone that has pristine body than a phone with many scratches. I change phones by selling the old ones, so having a phone that is scratch resistant is important for me to minimise drop in value.
I never get a chance to sell a phone, I usually loose or break them before, and heavy glass is a major cause.
They're heavy in the hands and in the sack, provoking you to lay it down and then forget it in a pinch (which happens way too often in cafe live in a big city /woosh, another goner !

Is there any chance you will be reviewing Realme X7 Pro? In the future, please include GRID Autosport multiplayer in your gaming test. Yes, it's still in beta, but it truly pushes the GPU to the limit. It also seems to struggle with phones that aren't Snapdragon based. So, if you could include that in your future videos, it would be gr8...

@@Techtablets It's 7nm (Prob. TSMC), and they don't push it really hard like Snapdragon does with their 7nm SoC's, so that's how.
Tbh all 2020 smartphones should have 7nm-grade SoC's, instead of Sammy 8nm (or worse) which is dense but use a lot more energy/make more heat. Personally I'd rather have that than 4 extra cameras I'll never use.

Been using realme phone 1.5 years, still there is no downgrade in performance or battery yet. They're almost Flagship quality build in Midrange price... And their Fast charging technology is Insane... 5000 mph battery full charge in Single hour.

Funny enough I've actually come to realize dark mode saves on LCDs \ IPS too .... it's not as significant on AMOLED but it actually does... my battery on my previous Moto drains faster on light mode then when I put it in dark mode.

the big question for me now is which one to choose between Realme 7 5g and Realme x50 5g. I imagine x50 is better due the processor, but since I haven't tested either I'm not sure. This Dimensity 800U is similar to the Snaodragon 750 with lower gpu performance, which is still great for this segment.

I wonder, when i gonna hear review without word "premium". It's thing that is different from different people. I might be lonely with this, but every time hear premium, it don't tell me realily nothing about product, at least usefull, just someones feeling about and what she/he thinks is premium. But to the video. Good video and got my interest because just lookin 5k battery, enough memory, no glass on back and fingersensor and 120Mhz is bonus, 5g still useless, wireless speed is enough. Good for my second pokemon go phone.

It actually didn't, the snapdragon are by far still the best in term of both performence and longevity if they are in the same league for e.g the best of them are s865+ vs D1000+, s865+ win any day of the weak, of course like you said the later one is cheaper though so it's not really fair to compare them like. However Mediatek for sure have some massive improvement in recent years, with Samsung also step up their game next year with amd and the Kirin series are stronger than ever, I hope we can see some good competition in SoC market since it will benefit us consumers 😂
After watching this review along with the k30 ultra review, i came to a conclusion, mediatek are the best when taking flowers and cats pictures 😁

The video HDR did actually impress me on both wide and ultrawide, no rough exposure changes, also the flower shot was amazing, I'm genuinely impressed!

Beware : PCMark behavior is strange...
This benchmark forgets to use big core if system doesn't force it.
Mediatek often force it (some call this "cheating", I think it's not)
When you use PCMark's battery test, on one side, you can have a device that uses big cores and an other that uses only power saving cores.
When you did your gaming test, you noticed a very good battery consomption when PCMark's battery test is only average

the main disadvantage is Transfer rate :
In 2.4ghz its max out at 72mbps only
In 5ghz It max out at 200 mbps..

Yes realme don't get too hot when gaming i have the c3 for games, playing modern strike online, infinty ops, world war 2 heroes and honkai impact 3 no problem yes in an average settings, i tested it on my oneplus 6 and huawei p30 pro with thesame settings they get hot playing, on my c3 for hours it was warm but not hot as my 2 phones and the battery life of realme are just wow..

excellent video... that realme 7 at the price of 229.. is a go... higher than that.. no.. maybe with some updates.. the Gpu in the games can be improved. its a bit weird that the dimensity 800 dont hold medium graphics... probably update is needed in that department. keep up the good work
The 800U has less GPU cores vs the 800 this is why

I dont know why people always rave about oled screens every oled screen ive ever had inc samsung tvs phones and the ps vita suffer from image retention and over time degrade to have a yellowish tinge to the whites, I prefer ips screen and have gone through replacing all oled.
not to mention ips monitors screens are recommended for photo editing coz oled are over saturated
so question, are these newer oled that dont have these problems or do people just prefer them for the over saturated look?
I bought Poco F3. My first amoled screen and I'm not happy with the whites and brightness. My old Xperia XA2 Ultra had a better quality LCD in my point of view.
Also Poco F3 has so many issues. Stereo speakers are quiet on calls and notifications. Only loud when rings or CZcams. Also top panel you can't make it bigger and I need to put the phone close to my eyes to read like how much battery left or if I'm on 5g or not.
Why no UFS 2.2 in Europe? The random read/write speeds are disappointing compared to other Dimensity phones you reviewed.
Not sure, but this is the U version also which might not support it.
@@Techtablets all Dimensity,including D1000+,only support UFS2.1.Xiaomi using UFS3.0 chip on K30Ultra but the speed also limit at UFS2.1 standard.
The UFS2.2 is a new standard had released even after Dimensity D800U. released.

Guys this is dm 800u processor. I would suggest you to wait for phones with dm 820. Its 33% faster than the u version(based on antutu scores).

The GPU performance is not that great because it only has 3 cores compared with 5 on the 820 and 4 on the 800 non U.
