Thanks heaps mate!
Gracias, bonitas fotografías.
Cheers:)
Peter, so glad to see you back, back pain can be debilitating I know. Love your in depth look at these little creatures that we live with. A content producer at YOUR level should have FAR MORE subscribers than where you are. Seriously CZcams what gives with your pathetic algorithms? Keep loading quality stuff Peter. The cream always rises to the top mate. 🇦🇺👏👍
Thanks a lot Alex, appreciate it! Please rewrite the algorithm haha. All good, just got to keep pushing but I love what I do & that’s the main thing!😀😊
I second that mate!
Hi Peter, we're so glad to hear your on the mend and feeling better. I enjoy all the images but really love the Cuckoo Wasp, it's color is incredible! So beautiful! Thank you for sharing the tiny details of our world. Have a fantastic week! -Jody
Thanks heaps Jody, very kind of you! Have an awesome week as well!😊😊🤗
HELLO FRIENDS SHARE VERY GOOD AND INTERESTING VIDEOS.. .
Thank you very much!
Hey Peter, sorry to hear about your back, hope you're doing OK now... Wingless grasshopper and the green wasp ( I think I remembered that right! were my favs even though you said you couldn't get close enough to the grasshopper , it was cute! Though all of the pictures were so good. 👍
Thanks heaps Anna, glad you liked the cuckoo wasp. Back is currently at 90% , gotta be still careful but so far so good:) Cheers
@@peterviragphoto Yes it's was so green and adorable:) Be careful with your back . .. See you soon :)
I admire your inquisitiveness about photography. Thank you for the beautiful macro world.
Thanks a lot, appreciate it!
Those macro shots are so insane Peter. Wow! My fav was the dragonfly. Top work mate. Water drops on a butterfly just when I thought I’d seen it all. Cheers for sharing mate 👍🙏
Thanks Adrian, appreciate it! I had been chasing those ringtails for quite some time so was glad that I got to capture a few shots!
I can’t believe how beautiful those small creatures are !! Great shots !
You better believe it haha. Thanks a lot Edit!:)
Fantastic photography.
The Robber Wasp is my favourite although the Parasitic Wasp is extremely strange and beautiful and the Cuckoo wasp is stunning!!
Gosh you have Cabbage Whites too. That’s amazing
The leaf beetle larvae are also so interesting
Loved the spider eating the ant 👍👍👍
Great share mate. Some amazing images there 👍👍🙏
Thanks heaps Dave, very kind of you! Glad you liked several of the species in this one!:)
beautiful shots like always! my fav is the Dronefly & the metallic coco wasp.... anyway, there is a very2 interesting pre-historic fact about the coco-wasp, i need to dig up the info in my 1st coffee table book publication. will update u soonest
Hey mate, thanks a lot! Looking forward to that piece of info:)
Wow that lynx spider is brutal! Those colours on the cuckoo wasp - amazing…and the ‘boodle’(?) fly earlier in the video - stunning photography and informative as always Peter
Thanks a lot mate, very kind of you! Did you mean the drone fly? That was a big mo*o😀😀
Great video and cinematography. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks a lot, very kind of you. Have a great week!:)
Great photographs here Peter. I think my favourite is your picture of the Leafcutter Bee. Simply beautiful.
Thanks a lot buddy, really kind of you! The leafcutter bee is cute as with those massive eyes!😀
Good to have ya back mate, hope the back heals 100%. “Antenna from where the eyes would be” - that’s wild!! 😯 I like this style of video mate, always good hearing your knowledge of the specimens and photography tips. Some really nice shots and creatures. 5:17 is such a great image too, 👀. Those slender ring tails as well are crazy, looks like they have a metallic body! 9:22 is a beauty too with the rich green, so awesome, don’t think I’ve seen a cuckoo wasp before. Nice video Peter!
Thanks a lot Rauri, appreciate it! Hope you had a great, relaxing weekend😉👍👍
Great to have you back (no pun intended), Mate you knowledge is why i love watching your videos and the photos to of course, but the amount of information you give is second to none. Brilliant video and the cuckoo wasp was my favourite.
Thank heaps Jeremy. Back is back🤣🤣 Hope you’re having an awesome day! Cheers
I'm glad you're on the mend Peter. I find it amazing you find such beauty in insects, beetles and flies where most of us would just ignore. You really celebrate this tiny world in such incredible detail and beauty.
Thanks a lot Adrian, very kind of you! See you’re an early riser too😀
@@peterviragphoto Not by choice on this occasion, but normally around right now or so, especially in summer to get outside with the camera!
First of all, your photography is exceptional, but the fact that you know almost all of these and interesting facts about them is even more so. Secondly, that you get such extra magnification and quality from a "bargain" snap-on accessory is shocking! I watched quite a few parts of this twice!
Thanks heaps mate. I only know a little about some of these species but always happy to to learn more.😀 Appreciate the support! Cheers
Sorry to hear about your back, Glad to have you back , my friend.
keep up the good work ! God bless you !
Thanks a lot for your support! Hope you’ve been well!
Absolutely amazing shots Peter!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you back buddy!
Hey buddy, thanks a lot!😊 Hope you’re back to 100% yourself!
Well done mate. Such a great collection of macro shots. There's so many great photos. The drone fly at the start is superb, I loved the portrait orientation of flower beetle. The mega something or other (i missed it's name) was so cool. I really liked the minimalism with the cutter bee and the colours on the cuckoo wasp were amazing. Brilliant stuff! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks heaps Scott, appreciate the support. Glad you liked them! Have an awesome week mate!
Peter, several fantastic images! After watching, I realize the enormous amount of work it must have taken to capture all these images. I love the flash setup! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks a lot buddy. It can be difficult at times but not that bad & definitely a lot of fun.😀 Have a great day! Cheers
Excellent video, my fave was the cuckoo wasp for sure what an amazing insect thank you for sharing! *THUMBSUP*
Thx a lot! :) have a great rest of the week!
Very nice like my friend
Thanks for sharing 🙆♀️💞🇯🇵
Thanks a lot mate, Appreciate it!
Glad you're doing better buddy!! You take some of the best macro images I've ever seen.....keep you the good work👍👍
Thanks a lot mate, really kind of you! Cheers🙌
Those shots are simply stunning, so much detail. Fantastic work and I hope you're back is much better soon.
Thanks a lot Andrew, appreciate it buddy!
Peter - holy crap your photos are simply AMAZING!!! Beautiful macro - I will work to get there as well. Thank you for sharing - you have such amazingly colorful creature there. 🤗🙏💖
Thanks heaps John, glad you liked them! Hope you’re having a nice week! Cheers😊
@@peterviragphoto Beautiful, beautiful!!! Have a fantastic week! 🤗
Glad to hear your back is recovering, Peter. When I see your work I am always just amazed by the amount of incredible detail in the shot and your knowledge behind the technique or animal/insect itself. The cuckoo wasps colours are so vivid and the water droplets on the butterfly is a nice find, something you probably wouldn't have noticed otherwise. I do wonder if it was bothered by the droplet on its eye haha. Loved the video.
Thanks heaps Courtney, really appreciate it! I would love to take an extreme macro of a cuckoo wasp one day but have only seen a dead one once before, which was semi digested in a cobweb.😬😀
Hope you are back to 100% soon. This video is a masterpiece. Bravo!
Thanks a lot Phil, getting there! Cheers😜
Wow..Thank you somuch for this Fantastic upload..💟💟 big like👍🌹
Keep going on..👍👍
Thabks a lot, appreciate it!
*_THANKS FOR NEW VIDEO! STAY BLESS MY FRIEND ❣_*
Thanks a lot!
Hello there Peter. Really nice photos, i have one question tho. Do you focus stack or just shooting single shots? All the best!
Thanks a lot mate. Depends on the subject and magnification ratio of course. Have a great weekend & thanks for your comment:)
nice
Thanks mate!
Those are some amazing shots you get. Ill have to try the raynox I thought it would somewhat degrade the images but one cannot tell the difference. The cuckoo wasp was so cool. It screams danger to me with its nice colors
Thanks a lot James for watching! Yeah, the DCR-250 doesn’t degrade the IQ as much as you would think.Cheers buddy!
Those shots are amazing. One thing I’d like to ask. Did you get those shots with AF or MF? I am currently shooting with a full MF Macro lense, but had the opportunity to get the RF 100mm Macro for cheap. I was wondering if it Is worth to buy the raynox on top or rather go for a Laowa 2:1 MF.
Thanks a lot! I only shoot with MF for stills. I primarily use the Laowa 90mm these days with the new NiSi 9 diopter closeup lens. That would be compatible with your RF lens too. It is slightly better than the DCR -250 in terms of image quality. I have a comparison of those two coming soon. Anyway here are a couple of links. Cheers:)

I'm curious how you get such great depth of field in these images. I assume the shots are handheld in manual but how do you get such clear images as f?14 suggests a slow shutter speed??? Very nice images.
Hey Jeffrey. F/14 gets you enough depth of field at 1:1 but sometimes you need to start stacking ( depending on the size of thr subject ) or with increased magnification ratio ( for example when the DCR-250 is attached ). The shutter speed varies but with slow moving subjects where flash ghosting isn’t an issue it can remain relatively slow because the flash freezes motion. I have two tutorials coming up soon, one will be about hand-held focus stacking & in the other one I explain how to choose the optimal aperture for macro photography. Here is a tutorial you might be interested in as well: czcams.com/video/Q0G2p-oSxzs/video.html
Thanks for dropping by & hope you’ll have fun with macro!:)

Thanks a lot Maria!
Very nice ! What resolution do you have for your camera? Thank you.
Thanks a lot Vladimir. The camera’s resolution is only 24 megapixels. Cheers😊
Hi I am able to focus the subject using Raynox 250 with my canon 600D please suggest..
Not exactly sure what you mean. I only use manual focus for macro in the field, except for some videos but you can definitely use AF lenses with the DCR-250 too but at e.g. Maximum magnification it’ll be hunting a fair bit.
Hey @peter. Did you Stack Most of the photos or are They mostly one Shot?
Hey Stefan. How are you? Most of these are single shots if I remember correctly. Have a good one! Cheers👍
how much more magnification you get when you combine the macro lens and the rynox 250?
Hi there. In this video you can see with test shots: czcams.com/video/JeFuFQrhLKY/video.html
Does the combination of Raynox and 100mm increase the quality/focus or will using just the 100mm have a shorter distance but higher quality? Is it worth adding Raynox?
The focus distance with the Raynox DCR-250 attached is decreased, you have to be closer to your subject to take images that are in focus. If you have the snap on mount it just gives you a flexible option. Let’s say the subject is a small aphid where 1:1 magnificstion wouldn’t be enough, so you can just add it to the front element and ready to go. Cheers
Hi
I have a 100mm f2.8 macro lens, but I can't get the focus right with the adapter. I'm losing patience like him. How can you help me to get the focus right Because I've tried in several apertures but without success
What are you using? What is exactly your setup?
@@peterviragphoto sometimes f/8 or less another times more than f/8
I presume these were all taken handheld, is there any clues or advice you can offer on your technique
Hey Peter. I might make a video about a few tips re technique. I mentioned many tips in numerous videos but might summarise them one day. What do you shoot with? Cheers
@@peterviragphoto, I'm shooting with a Sony A7R3 with the Sony 90mm macro and just recently purchased the Raynox 250.

Hi there:)
Woo Peter some amazing shots there , I think because of their size most of us fail to appreciate how colourful some small creatures are. That extra lens really gives you some extra reach (I have the same 100mm Canon macro) . Cheers Chris from a very warm Auckland.
Hey Chris, thanks heaps buddy! Yes, I quite like the DCR-250 because it’s super flexible with the snap on mount. It’s quite warm here too at the moment🥵🥵😀 Need to get out and burn some calories, been editing too much😁. Have a great week mate!
