    When I was young (late 60"s early 70"s) my grandfather had something like that and used it around the farm. It was green and the the steering wheel look the same with the 4 wheels. Soon as I seen this it can back to me. I can remember him calling it his little argo. Might not be the same but sure did being back memories of papa,

    Is there a vacuum return nipple on the tank? If so run a tube from engine back to tank so it builds pressure and pushes fuel down to carb, hope I explained it well enough?

  • @firerod3074

    That engine has to be missing some sheet metal around the head. There's no way it could cool run in that enclosure without a shroud.

    • @ScottSillis
      @ScottSillis Před rokem +6

      No the fan housing directs airflow through the fins to keep it cool. Not all two strokes need a fan as long as the fins give enough surface area for correct heat dissipation.

    • @mitchellandrew3318
      @mitchellandrew3318 Před rokem +1

      It's a single with a main fan. It's getting plenty air. But there is a metal enclosure for those motors I believe.
      If it was a twin I'd agree.
      Free air or not.
      Nothing pushing over they will melt down, twins will cook mag cylinder asap.

The compression will go up when you put oil down the barrel, your reducing the volume of the combustion chamber if you don’t give it time to pass by the rings, remember it only passes through the ring gap! So reducing the area inside will increase the pressure. 😂 I was honestly waiting for you to set fire to this one as well by splashing fuel all around the carb and engine 😮

If you're going to try it in the water well new paddle tires in the back otherwise turf golf cart tires in the rear . Might help the ride some. Good running motor... wonder how well a newer 4 stroke like a Predator would be in it. Fab a frame and plexiglass windscreen just for cosmetic purposes. A little paint and some creative cosmetic items.. cheap radio and speakers.... yeah a lot of fun ... cross between a Argo, golf cart and there it a miniature dune buggy.... lot of fun. Loved it... Another cool thing to check base gasket leek put pressure gage on that crank vent tube. Spark plugs in or out it don't matter . Pull the cord or turn the key if the needle moves a lot back and forth it's fine. If the needle don't move its blowing past the broken or cracked base gasket from old and rott.

    I would like to see you take one of these and build the frame up with a suspension, out a motorcycle engine in it with gears and finish it out with paint...then have some good old fun with it.

    Should have aired the tires on the bronco up for less rolling resistance and less squish when trying to pull over obstacles, like when you first started the tire was smashed flat when you trying to pull it over that Rick and it would have steered easier

    the vacuum line is probably for a vacuum controlled fuel tap mounted on the tank
    looks like it used to work on a gravity fed fuel system tho

    You probably wont see this, but I love watching your videos, always bring back all these old machines back to life, you've got me into trying to fix everything I buy, suck as atvs, and I just wanted to know, if you could help me find a fourwheeler in PineBluff Arkansas for $300 that runs, because I'm 16 and I've always wanted to buy one, that I could drive around.

    That vent should run the fuel pump. I'm sure you know how those pumps work off of vacuum. But that's how most older 2 strokes operate

    The square box comming from the carb is crank case pulse pump. It hooks to your carb and crank case and fuel. When piston goes down it creates pressure in pulse pump that pumps gas.

    Need to build a full cage roll bar for this thing, would stiffen it up so it wouldn't flex and could be ridden off road. Chain coming off could be bent sprocket or chain severely worn.

    Reminds me of a Coot. We never sold one but we got our sleds from a distributor who did sell the Coot line of ATVS. They were all designed to take your snowmobile engine and give it a second home for summer use. Very crude and hard on your bum. We had a Red Baron Coot for a while. Pop stuck a Sachs Wankel in it and the thing flew! 50 mph and no suspension. Best used on smooth flats or a free visit to the dentist and chiropractor was next. This is a great find here.
