- This is part three of my HELP Leaking pond series. The big day is here and we need to bring in extra help to get the massive liner in. See how we go getting this old leaking pond all good as new for the fish.

I remember the weight of the liner for my tiny pond. Amazing work to manipulate that monster roll. Looking really good.
You need a few people when you have a big liner. Also lots of space really helps.

Another huge step forward as you have put the liner in. Now onto the next stage of putting the rocks around the edging to hide the liner.

yes not every pond has to be a Koi pond.
Looking great so far stretching the liner as it fills up and getting the creases / folds to a minimum is the testing part if never done it before . Took me several attempts to get it to stage were I was happy due to shape and levels of depth . All worth it in end.
The creases are difficult to get out sometimes. But on a pond like this with seeping curves its not so bad. Sometimes you can over stretch it too and then when you empty the pond later it springs back and doesn't sit right when you refill.
@@leecalladine that's very true I did mine in stages over 3 days due the different levels of depth and ledges around the pond allowing it to settle before tackling the more difficult parts which involved getting in luckily it was warm and sunny unlike the time of year you were doing this project . Like mine I'm sure it will look lovely when it's matured again

The owners are both lovely people and they are really pleased with how this turned out. They are going to get it planted up in the spring and some more fish too.
Pond is coming along very nicely and the liner install so well done. Not easy moving and installing a liner of that size.
It was easier when I was younger. everything is getting heavier, not just me lol.
Cracking Job and definitely 1 of those jobs that are pain in arse trying to get take out folds & flaps specially epdm, shame the fella didn’t get liner welded to fit his dimension (Roll out Pin up) Jobs a gooden but definitely more expensive
The budget and time constraints on this would not stretch to it. He did consider fibreglass but the cost was so enormous the liner was the only option. Fortunately when its finished the creases are not too visible. i know they also have some plans to plant up the sides that will help soften the edges.

You are so right! Even after a hot bath and scrub up my feet are so cold you need a hot water bottle in the bottom of the bed to warm up your toes.🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

you should be filter cycling a few weeks before adding fish?
That was not necessary as the pond has an existing filter that has been running for years on the pond. The stocking density is extremely light and would easily sustain itself biologically with no filtration.
Really enjoying this series ... did you dechlorinate the new water from that hose added when filling?
The customer has a inline decorating unit on his hose. However we filled it at full speed and the unit is strictly speaking designed for a much more sedate flow. During the previous week's it had been necessary to run water constantly into the pond to keep it even partially filled with water due to the leak and he had experienced no negative effects. For peace of mind I do recommend using either a inline or liquid treatment. Some water may have a lot more chlorine and potentially problems could arise.

Did you do a scrape on the fish as before they went back in
No. The fish were transferred back into the pond. The customer has had the fish for many years and never done a scrape.
Getting there that’s a big pond are u putting filters on it
The pond has got a nexus 320 filter at the top of the water fall. Its pump fed and its going to be hidden behind a screen since the tree came down its much more visible.
Hi Lee do you hire th holding tanks out?
We used to be a major distributor of these type of tanks. over the years we have handled hundreds if not thousands of them, however we no longer have a manufacturer to supply them as the main person involved suddenly died during covid. It was a massive blow to us and we have tried everything to source another supplier, however we have been unsuccessful. We do not hire out the few tanks few tanks we have left except in the most exceptional circumstances. You can find a few of these tanks around but the price can be very very expensive.
