As far as I can tell, the only input from the American comedians was the 'brain cum' comment, a pretty immature and shallow joke that would just get a 'hah' usually, but the other three expanded it and put it spontaneously into a song, making it go from a 'hah' to a 'pahahahahaha' :') without Ed, Tim and Jimmy this would be a no show for me 100%

He is also a poet, writer, director, actor and comedian. He wrote and acted in TV series Upright, directed Dreamworks animated film Larrikins (sadly it got canned when it was nearly finished because the studio got bought out), played Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar stage production... He is highly intelligent and highly gifted. Look him up. Brilliant human.

You could see from Tim Minchin's face and eye roll that he found Carr to be obnoxiously full of himself. That's why Tim got up and went to the piano. That's also why the audience cheered Tim before he even began playing. It was clear that Carr was annoyed to be interrupted by music. I can't imagine that Carr's book will sell more than 10 copies. I also can't imagine that Carr is funny when he does his routines but he must be or he wouldn't be on the show. The difference between him and Tim is that Tim is funny when he does his routines but he's also a warm and unprepossessing person who listens to others rather than commanding the floor all the time.
Jimmy Carr takes comedy very seriously and has spent a very long time looking into the psychology of it. It’s a passion of his and he’s written a book on the subject. He was perhaps naive to think that other comedians would be as equally fired up as he is to discuss that aspect of their craft. But he has the good grace to laugh when others are mocking him. And, to be fair, they’ve pretty much invited him to talk about his theory of comedy, and appear to be listening. But Minchin? Don’t get me wrong - he is very intelligent, very funny and very talented. But in this clip he also shows himself to be very rude and very ungracious. Not only to Carr, but to all the other guys who he’s singing over when they’re trying to speak.

Imagine feeling like any of this shit matters. These are performers with yet another camera on them. One of them is literally advertising to you, and the rest are maintaining an image so they can sell out venues at a later date. Who cares if they interrupt each other, they can preach about whatever they want at a different time with no fear of being unheard.
