That is exactly what we are doing since the day we arrived. We have friends doing relief ops in Bohol, Siargao and Negros and we are donating to them. Slowly those provinces will rise 🙏🙏🙏

It’s weird how the Filipinos left while the tourist stayed to help. Where is the Red Cross, the Philippine Navy to provide assistance and at water, food and WiFi for the people.
The local government explained that communication is really bad since the towers went down not just in Siargao but also Surigao and several other places. Plus it's hard to send relief kasi sira din yung airport at maliliit lang na planes yung pwede so maliit lang din pwedeng dala so kunti lang din na tao can receive relief. Siargao has some 100k people. The port is damaged din as well as many boats not just in Siargao but also Surigao, Leyte, Bohol, Cebu so it's really hard to mobilize things kasi the most of relief is brought by boats. But you are right, most of the Filipino tourists left while the foreigners stayed, can't blame them din. Most people who have businesses there also left but vowed to return to help. What I see lacking in this video naman is parang concerned lang siya dun sa mga tourist but not so much as locals who don't have another place to go home to, that is their home and they can't leave. I'm sure those people are in her heart naman but it just didn't show so much sa video na to. Everyone's a victim because the storm unpredictably became stronger than anticipated. My area was only signal number 2 but it was already scary.

@@RJ-iy4es They have but it's not going to be right away and you don't see pictures of it because people who are actually working on the ground don't have time for picture takings, as I said, many ports were damaged and many boats as well. I don't know where the navy ships are anchored but given that the storm was still passing by, the weather was probably still not good to navigate and it takes time to get to places and communication issues also existed. I'm from Cagayan de Oro, it takes 8 hours from here to get to Cebu how much more to Siargao. You have to consider every safety issue, you don't want your rescuers to be the ones needing rescue. You have to consider we aren't a first-world country and even first-world countries can't respond that fast especially with a country with our type of geography. The important thing is there was response, they responded as quickly as possible and there are not so many deaths because of pre-evacuations. The next thing they should prioritize are sturdy evacuation centers so they don't get flooded or blown by the wind and food will not get damaged as well so response will be localized instead of waiting for outside help. What should also change is people's mindset on disasters, people don't prepare enough, people should always prepare a 72-hour relief kit because it's going to be sure that help is not going to come right away and typhoons are getting stronger each year.

I can see how fear this people..Naranasan ko gnyang takot n4 kasagsagan ng lindol d2 sa mindanao tapos epi center mismo dun sa lugar na pinuntahan nmin nginig,kaba at takot talaga mararamdaman mo gusto mo umaalis agad sa lugar kasi akala mo if makakaalis ka na sa lugar mawawala lahat ng takot mo pero mali kahit alam mo nasa safe place ka na pero ung nginig at takot nararanasan mo that time bumabalik2x pa din lalo na makita mo ung lugar pag-alis mo ung aftermath bumabalik2x pa din..1 year ago na ngyari sa akin pero till now takot pa din kahit may konting nginig sa paligid natataranta na agad ako ung kaba na parang nasusuka na di maintindihan..Kaya dun sa tao di pa nkakaranas ng ganito wag po sana natin husgahan imbes na give them a encouragement and prayer..
