We are the Met Office, the UK’s national weather service, and every day of the week we bring you a morning weather forecast and an afternoon weather forecast so that wherever you are in the UK we have you covered.
Forecast and any weather warnings are accurate at time of recording. To ensure you have the most up to date weather information, check the hourly forecast and live warnings on the Met Office website or app.
Thanks Aidan, the information you provide on the channel is great for weather watchers and I appreciate you giving the immense amount data in a clean, clear and professional presentation. In a limited time. You and all of your colleagues are really serving a huge community of weather watchers and obviously the general public also.
There are not many places on the internet that are as reliable and trustworthy as The Met Office UK and my own Met Éireann in Ireland. It is you and your colleagues presentations that nail it for me, and I will viewing most days for as long as you are providing these excellent insights into our atmosphere and climate. Brilliant to you all.
Best Regards to you and the team, Michael, Dublin.
Another top forecast, we in the UK are so lucky to have the Met Office & such knowledgeable & likeable presenters, the piece on the snow likelihood was very interesting, take note Daily Star headline writers!
Thank you for this overview. No over reach, no drama for drama sakes. Excellent!
Great deep dive - Aiden. I find these explain why the weather is what it is - much clearer than a one minute forecast. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you for adding the chapters!! 🎉
Aiden you explain everything so easily so everyone can understand. So full marks to you. Learnt about the winds over the hills. Now I know what to look for. Can you guys do deep dives twice during the week. Simply the best forecast around.
Love the deep dives and learning about different features like troughing on the isobars and what that means for the weather. Brilliantly explained!
Another fantastic deep dive. This is the only place I come to for the weather forecast now. Always informative and well explained.
You have a great team at the met office. Keep up the good work...... it is appreciated 👍👍
Great detailed forecast yet again
Here we go. Been waiting all day for this 😁 Thanks, so much Aidan, your a star 🤩
An excellent forecast Aidan! 🎉 Very many thanks indeed, I really enjoyed it. Very interesting about the troughing and even more so about El Niño and of course the Diapole which will be so informative to hear more of during the weeks to come! 😊 Please, please do keep the Deep Dives coming, a truly exciting part of the week! So many thanks Aidan 😊
I love these deep dives. I grew up fascinated with pressure charts and weather. Ended up studying climate change and sustainability. And you guys are so great at presenting it.
Love the deep dives as always. Would love a video about El Nino and Indian Ocean Dipole soon!
Apparently there is one on the met office CZcams channel. They mention that there is one sporadically.
I love your deep dive carry on please
Yes, this is great! Please, consider continuing.
Alex gave us a lesson on the bouncing mountains with the winds a few deeps dives ago
I look forward to this every week. Carry on !!
Thanks for the latest deep dive Aidan.
the hole team that do the weather every day on youtube are great .
Please be encouraged to continue with the Deep Dives on the channel - I always look forward to getting my fix of meteorology on a Tuesday. The more theory the better, as far as I am concerned. I know you have your explainers on the ‘Learn about weather’ channel, but having issues presented ‘personally’, as though you are in a very friendly classroom with your favourite teacher, makes all the difference! All the best - Paul
Like the 0degree isotherm map. That is given in Switzerland, with obvious reasons. It does give a good indicator of the air masses temperatures
Aiden your deep dives are very clear
Thanks keep em coming 👍🏻😊
Excellent clear presentation.
Great to watch to let us know what the flying weather is looking like ahead.
I love these deep dives, really interesting.
Really appreciate that you can use your expertise and knowledge to help us understand how the projected weather models and forecasts will affect our island nation.
Absolutely enthralling, as well as educational 👍
Thank you for being such a touchstone of normality. And the detail is great 😊
Thanks Aidan, good forecast... Would like to see a full deep dive on the MJO as well as other teleconnections.
We want snow!?😊(but happy to wait for after Christmas)
I think southcoast of England in East Sussex my get a covering of snow on the ground in Jan of Feb 2024 . But on a negative the salt air from the sea stop it.
I think we may get a flurry or two before Christmas like last year
I could be right.
Thankyou Aidan, it is such a busy forecast! I often wonder what Robert Fitzroy would have made of all this technology!
Thanks Aiden. Really good, as usual. It would be good to have a 'dive' into how the el nino effect can favour colder weather for Europe towards the end of winter ...... be interesting. (I guess you are standing in for Alex because the baby has arrived?😄)
A fascinating insight into what is going on and what to expect. Looking forward to more in-depth analysis. Thank you all.
Very much appreciated, thank you
Thank you Aidan for another great deep dive
Great program, thanks a lot!
Wow that's a real mixture of possible weather patterns for the UK. It'll be interesting to see how it all works out, I don't envy you all trying to work it all out. Love the deep dive's very interesting.
Wonderful forecast with detail if we want it. I am impressed that you tell it as it is: if you are unsure of the weather in a few days, you tell us. Far better than guessing that, for example, there will be a 600-mile band of snow giving us 2cm of snow per hour (and increased newspaper sales!)
Great deep dive . Thank you ,Aidan 👍
This is my kind of news? Love this
This is wonderfully informative, I'm learning loads. Would love to learn about how the met office forecasts frost (if not already shown on here), thank you.
Am pleased its going to be dry for a while for a change, even if it is cold
Brilliant thank you
These forecasts are great - they are so informative, please keep them coming ! 👏
Can i vote for Member 36, please - I like the idea of the cold, dry, sunny weather it suggests!
Thank you Aidan, fab detail in the forecasting and I learn a little bit more each week😊
Sounds promising for Saturday, I'm flying from the canaries to Bristol 🤞🤞
Finally some settled autumnal weather hopefully some clear skies to enjoy, lots of detail once again
Thank you v much.
Stay healthy everyone.
It’s better how it’s settling down after the jet stream was south shifted for much of October and the first part of November
Great to watch and thanks for adding the chapters
Hi. It would help if the uk were marked out in black much more , so that any effect that needed to be run the uk could be seen much more clearly. As said on the spaghetti pictures it is some what difficult to see the uk. As said the third picture is really difficult to see the uk. Even the signals picture are difficult to see the uk.
As for the Jetstream cruising at 200mph. At what height would this be at , and would affect aircraft. ie. Slow flight to America and tail wind from America to the uk. Thanks
I always love hearing about the weather and what is likely to happen. It's the national religion.
I love this depth of detail and presentation
6:15+ Bouncy wind! Thanks for explaining how we can get very gusty periods. 😊
I love these detailed forecasts, but is it possible to make the outline of the UK clearer as sometimes with all the colours over the top, it’s hard to see what part of the UK we are looking at
A dusting of snow in late November early December (and returning in late Winter) is not unusual. As for wanting snow ..No thank you. I'm of an age that having a fall in snow or ice could prove very serious. And with the NHS as it is at the moment not something i look forward to.
Excellent forecast, and as usual very informative
Love this, so interesting, please continue. 🙏☺
Love these
never seen that before the tropping in the isobars
Any snow for the future. Please take home with you. Thanks.
I am looking forward to some frost and sunshine.
Thank you, Aidan
Models predicting a mild wet and windy December primarily in the NW. A pretty much normal winter then. Predictions of colder than average conditions never ever seem to occur any more.
it's amazing how things average out. Argyll had its wettest weather ever at the start of October with major landslides and
bridges washed away - some roads are still closed and will be for weeks. Yet averaged over the season, it's normal.
Well done
Oh well, if it's only the North and West that is OK then...unless that's where you live. That "but" at the end really p..ted me off! As usual, a South of England perspective on the weather.
So, as usual at this time of year, ignore the silly newspaper headlines that do the rounds like clockwork ;)
If anything, I've noticed some chatter amongst more adept weather watchers than myself, that an exceptionally mild December could be on the cards.
With winter approaching is there any chance of a seasonal deep dive discussing the drivers going into winter and most likely weather patterns?
It won’t surprise me if we get cold winter
Quick question
Why is tonight warmer than during the day (up north Scotland).
Confused lol
Also love these deep dives
Mild and less soaking in Suffolk in December, perhaps? Suits me!
With the news from Iceland’s Grindavik area and the increasingly likely eruption there, I wonder what would happen if ash gets high into the atmosphere and gets pushed along by the strong jet stream? Would it spread the ash cloud across Europe, further north into polar regions, or is it not expected to get as high as that?
Question: earlier on in the year, you mentioned the higher than average sea temperatures especially around Scotland, did these higher sea temperatures contribute to the volume of rain in this area over the last few months? It would be interested to know, especially as the year goes on. And what are the sea temperatures like now? Back to normal or still higher?
Many thanks in advance 👍🌞
Aidan, could I request you lower the volume of your voice? Your audience on CZcams is individuals, sometimes listening with headphones. Not someone the other side of the room. No need to project your voice. Absolutely brilliant content. Really appreciated. Thank you.
So is the troughing you refer to what is also known as wave in aviation circles?
Love these deep dives , any chance you could show QNH in feet, pretty please 😊
Do we have a negative north atlantic oscillation right?
When will the public get access to the tools Aiden is using on the touchscreen?
May be snow ❄ in the new year.
Will we see any winter storms
How long will the cold spell last.
I’ll take rain over snow anytime
Is winter delay for the uk and I seen on Facebook that the beast from the east could make landfall to UK during winter we don't know if it going to happen
Nice to seem the west country obscured by lap tops and menu bars ….
Hang on, isn’t the Met Office based in Exeter? Surely someone should have noticed…
It really is no surprise at all that forecasts are so often wrong when 50 computer models can’t agree on whether it’s going to be cold or mild. What’s the difference between this and 50 amateur weather forecasters being shut in a room and giving their opinions because you know some will be right and some wrong.
This is boring I don't understand to maps
Lego blocs more your style?
What a lazy comment to make. Instead of actually asking for help and learning what they are you just shrug it off as boring instead.
2 complex for people who have learning difficulties to understand what he was saying about the weather they are making it too difficult for us to understand very long difficult to understand need to do shorter vidoes off deep drive help us who has learning disabilities found it hurd going
@@heatherjoy479 but you still made a derisory comment instead of asking for help
Don't complain at the beginning...aren't you providing a service?
Triggered by an educated person?
@@brendancooney9401 Well thank you.. I was educated in Eton. I am impressed for noticing my stature!
